I believe that your website has a virus

have to use Foxfire for Bluegolf.com to record handicap for the golf course I work for, everytime I get on foxfire and try to put in someones handicap it opens up several windows and downloads programs on my computer without my permission. If you can not figure out what is going on I will have to report this to Bluegolf.

Hi James, do you use Firefox for other sites? If this problem only occurs with one website, it could be something about that site, but if it occurs with other sites, then I recommend investigating whether you have a bad add-on.
I suggest starting here:
Open the Windows '''Control Panel''', Uninstall a Program. After the list loads, click the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. This can help in smoking out undisclosed bundle items that snuck in with some software you agreed to install. Take out as much trash as possible here.
Next, in Firefox, open the '''Add-ons page''' using either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
(1) In the left column, click Plugins. If you find a plugin that you don't recognize or which doesn't sound essential, try setting it to "Never Activate". ''(The most essential Plugin is Shockwave Flash. You can use most sites without the others.)''
(2) In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable (or Remove, if possible) unrecognized and unwanted extensions.
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Finally, you can "mop up" remaining issues with the scanning/cleaning tools suggested in this support article: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]].
Success?

Learn how to remove this software.

No you do not have a virus. That is a standard web popup usually, that tres to get up to download a "removal program". The removal program is the virus or similar.

  • What does it mean when people say that your CC has changed?

    .

I think they mean to say "charged."
Verizon only charges your card when they ship your iPhone so it means that if you see a charge from VW, it indicates that your phone has been shipped.

  • "Microsoft" calls to tell you that your PC has been hacked

I just got a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft. He told me that my computer was infected.
He said that Microsoft knew that the PC was hacked because of the error reports I chose to send them when the pop up came up.
You probaly have seen the ones like this.
This was ineresting since I know that no personal information goes to Microsoft when you send the error reports.
Knowing that ther are a large number of scams like this, I asked for the phone number to call them back. He said that he would call me back. Then after pushing some more he gave me a bunch a random numbers.
If you look at Microsoft's Forum and the have a thread called "Phone warnings from 'Microsoft.'"
Bascially, Mircosoft didn't call me to warn me that my PC was hacked. Someone was fishing trying to get acess to my PC.

Yes, currently I'm using iPhone 4s with iOS 7.1, following behaviour I could observed,

When batter is fully charged--> Top right corner in the iPhone charging symbol is filled with black color.

It means that is is the first time that the device that you are using has been used to make a purchase in the iTunes Store.
I get the same message whenever I buy a new iPhone or iPad. It's normal.

  • Is there any other way to find out if your Mac has a virus?

I think antivirus software is the only thing that can tell if you've got trojans and harmful files on your computer, and lists them down. But I want to find out if my Mac has viruses without downloading AV software.

There's no one single method that can be used, as different malware can install in different places.  You have to know what you're looking for.  The folks who make AV software know what they're looking for, so that's the best option.
However, why do you have this concern?  Do you have a reason to believe your Mac is infected?  If so, what is it?  If not, you can probably relax (though that's far from a guarantee).
For more information on this topic, see my Mac Malware Guide.

  • How do you find out if your imac has a virus?

I was browsing internet and all of a sudden a warning sign came up about my computer having virus, malware content and is saying do I want to check for problems? is this a virus? how do I know? another issue is sometimes I hear sound kinda like when you are playing a scratch cd. what is this prob?

I'm not familiar with Avast, so I don't know what "errors" it's finding. I suspect, like most AV companies, they want to impress you by finding a lot of things which are of absolutely no consequence
If it found three viruses, they are all for Windows and won't run on your Mac. There are no Mac viruses, period.
Here is something to read on Mac malware.

Stop running AV. You don't need it. Many AV programs are in fact more harmful than what they purport to protect against. If you want to run anything, use

Backing up your data is an entirely different issue. Get an external hard drive and make an external bootable clone, my personal preference over Time Machine. But you could use Time Machine.

  • Can I access all dates that a website has been visited?

I have been utilizing the History function to see when a page was last visited and how many times it has been visited.
I would like to see every instance of when I have visited a page. For example, I have visited google.com 27 times in the last month; I can see that I last visited google.com yesterday. But, I would like to see a list of every date/time that I visited google.com in the past month.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks for your help.

Firefox only shows the last time that you've visited an URL and a visit count.
You will have to use the SQLite Manager extension to see all visit dates.
You can use this query and change url LIKE '%google.com%' to the URL that you want to check.<br />
A percent symbol ("%") in the LIKE pattern matches any sequence of zero or more characters in the string.
    * SQLite Manager: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/sqlite-manager/
    # Open Profile Directory -> places.sqlite -> Go
    # Hit the Execute SQL tab
    # Use a Select like this:
    <pre><nowiki>SELECT datetime(visit_date/1000000,'unixepoch') AS visit_date, url, title
    FROM moz_places, moz_historyvisits
    WHERE moz_places.id = moz_historyvisits.place_id AND url LIKE '%google.com%'
    </nowiki></pre>
    * Click Run SQL to generate a results list
    * Click the Action button to Save the results to a CSV file
    See also:

*A percent symbol ("%") in the LIKE pattern matches any sequence of zero or more characters in the string

*Any other character matches itself or its lower/upper case equivalent (i.e. case-insensitive matching)

  • I am getting an error that the download has a virus when attempting to install

I uninstall Firefox due to a problem with the browser showing websites incorrectly after a windows reboot. I attempted then to download firefox from the firefox website and each time the antivirus software detect a virus and remove the installer

ok, this isn't coming from your security software but from IE. if IE flags every download as malicious this by itself might probably be a sign of an infection already present on your system: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/ie/en-US/c888dbaf-cd4a-40a2-a75a-6927c7d2844c/ie89-says-every-file-contained-a-file-and-was-deleted

  • I believe my macbook pro has a virus

Im just looking for the best software for virus protection. I dont like mackeeper.
    thanks,
    joro

A computer Virus, is specific to an operating system.  For example, if you receive an email with a virus for Windows Vista attached to it, YOU will not get the virus, as you are not running the Windows OS.  If however, you forward that email to someone who does have Windows Vista computer, they can get the virus.  If you forward to someone who has Windows XP, they won't get it, as they are not running Windows Vista.
You can forwarded a virus in an email, but not have it yourself.  Why do you think that you have a virus?
Running a virus protection software, is about the only way you can safe guard against this, however may not be necessary.
For ideas on what antivirus softwares you can use, try these links - http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/15850/clamxav. and http://www.sophos.com/en-us/products/free-tools/sophos-antivirus-for-mac-home-ed ition.aspx.
You may also want to look here regarding Mac Malware / spyware -  http://www.reedcorner.net/mmg/
If the above isn't the case, and you don't feel it is required that you have antivirus software installed, then don't install one.

  • I'm worried that my ipad has a virus

I was using google chrome app, and Basically I went on to a website and I got a pop up message saying that I had won a prize, It also stated my community broadband provider. I closed the tab I had open. And went back to my other tab but the message still did not disappear,I closed chrome and the message was gone but when I opened it it was there again. I deleted chrome and reinstalled it it's working fine now. My iPad seems to be working fine I can't really find anything wrong with it but I'm still worried there a virus on it is this even possible? Thanks for any help :)
Ps. My iPad is not jail broken or anything.

As of now, there are no known viruses for the ipad. My suspicion would be that what you saw was a pop up ad either generated by or allowed by the chrome browser.
