I book G 4 used 2004- 2005

Question

I boughtthis off e-bay& it is not starting up properly. It goes to a grey screen & stops. Nothing else happens. II have a sheet from the genius Bar they had done before they sold it to me which says theyzerod out drive &installed Tiger & I life 06& updates 06. please someone help me I do not kn ow what to do? I have heard good things about Macs ,but traditionly a p-c user. I guess its locked up?

It goes to a grey screen & stops.
So that's the gray screen w/ the Apple logo? Is there a spinning gear underneath?
If not that sounds like the hard drive could have died or the OS is corrupted. Did you get the original install disks with it? You should have or at least an installer. Have you communicated this problem to the seller?

That covers quite a range. Could you narrow that down a bit? If you don't know look under the keyboard:

Under the keyboard there should be a bar coded label that says something like "iBook G4/1.33/....
