There is no way to merge two Apple IDs as all purchases made with each account are always tied to those accounts.
All you can do to each account is change the email address for each one but they can't have the same email address.

Well first off you shouldn't have had to pay for a download (just an assumption from the word "purchased".
If you are trying to install iOS 5 on your iPod touch, it won't work they arent compatible. I suggest checking what version of software you are trying to install and posting it in this forum so people can have a better understanding.

How can I remove an email address from one apple account and associate it with another?

I created an appleID account to use with the mac AppStore without realising i previously had an appleID account from my first iPod touch.
Now with OSX 10.8 I want to use the email address from the old account with the new account for Messages.app without having to manage 2 logins.
I've followed the steps found on the support page http://support.apple.com/kb/HE68 under the section "How to add an additional email address that is already associated with another Apple ID" but each time I attempt to add the removed email address from the new account to the old account the input box shows the error: Email address is already verified for another Apple ID.
Has anyone else experienced this problem and found a solution?

facetime does not want to verify how can i check my email and where ? to aprove it and start facetiming .

1. Make sure software is up to date
2. Make sure FaceTime is enabled; Settings>FaceTime
3. Make sure Date and Time is correctly set; Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>On
4. Make sure Push Notification is enabled
5. Make sure phone number or email address is correct
6. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) until you see the Apple Logo

I have lost my phone and am using my daughters phone. I have switched my phone number to her physical device. I want to reset with my apple id to bring in my contacts and text messages (if possible) and pictures and Notes. But, I would like for her to be able to access her account too. Is that possible? Naw I figure it out without all that had to go into the FaceTime settings and only use the phone number on the iphone and only use the Apple ID on the iPad works great now no need for two Apple ID or any signing in and out.

The Apple ID and Password that was Originally used to Activate the iDevice is required
If you do not have that information you will not be able to use the Device.

But - on Outlook I have many folders already set up.
I also have folders set-up on the webmail version on the email account that I use to get emails to my iphone.
But neither of these seem to sync to my iphone - none of the folders show on the iphobe.
That is where I have got stuck! Any other thoughts please??
