I bought a macbook pro at best buy, if i dont like it can i exchange it for the air?
Even after using it for 3 weeks?
You can return an Apple product within 14 days from the date of purchase.
That's Apple's policy, though, not Best Buy's policy. I don't know whose policy would apply, but AnaMusic is absolutely correct... Best Buy would be the place to get your answers. Personally, I think there's no way you're going to be able to return a machine you've been using for 3 weeks. You may have better luck selling it on eBay and accepting that you will not recoup the full purchase price.

If i buy a new ipod touch now, can i exchange it for the new version?
I am gonna get a new ipod touch 8GB as part of the education deal when buying an imac before the 7th sept. I am wondering if i can exchange it for one of the new ones when they are announced and in stores a week or two later? If i bought a macbook pro in store or online i know i can exchange it within 30 days (by paying a price difference to the new model) or get a discount (if the prices for the old model went down within 30 days of me purchasing).
Would this apply to the ipod touch too, if i get it through the education store?Sorry, but the iPod touch from the Back-To-School promotion could not be returned nor exchanged. The promotion is actually a rebate (unless you're referring to a promotion other than in the US); you choose your qualifying iPod model and purchase it, and will then get a rebate back of up to $199 (it varies depending on the model of iPod you choose).
The US promotion applies only to specific iPod models and expires on September 7th, so it would not apply to any iPod model released after that date. For the full terms, see:

I bought my Macbook Pro on 23rd July 2011 and was told that I was able to get the free upgrade to OS X Lion, and that it would automatically update when I register my Mac. I registered it when I first turned it all on, I then waited thinking that it might be in a system update package. This, however, never happened. Am I eligable for the free update, if so, how do I get it? I am currently running on the latest version of Snow Lepeord.
You get it here:

ikeep getting a message that my start up disc is full and i don't know how to free up space.. also when i o to download some files i am told there is no space left to download i bought this macbook pro used an receiver no discs.. what can i do??
You need to purchase an external drive and start moving some files to it or you can try trashing some files that you no longer need.
Download OmniDiskSweeper and see where your larger files are... you can move them to an external drive or trash them: it's up to you.
I would also begin, since it's obviously don't have backups, a backup scheme or two. See Most commonly used backup methods.
Good luck,

I'm using a macbook pro, running snow leopard. Yesterday I got around to emptying my trash for the first time in quite awhile and was surprised by how much there seemed to be in there. Immediately after a question mark symbol appeared on all my hard disk folders. If I click on these question marks I get a message saying ' the item can't be found'.
mpagan47 wrote: a question mark symbol appeared on all my hard disk folders.
Not sure where these hard disk folders are located that you are referring to? Finder, Finder tool bar, Finder side bar, Desktop, Dock?
More then likely they are an alias that not longer point to the orginals, thus the question mark.
I would reboot. Delete icons if an alias and just recreate by dragging from the source. Try right click (control) click to remove. -
I recently bought a MacBook Pro and am trying to purchase music from iTunes. For security, it says that I have a different computer trying to purchase music. Can I switch the computer I purchase my music from?
You can purchase music from up to 5 computers at once.
Just sign in and buy -
I've never turned on my new macbook pro but I want to exchange it for the new Macbook pro with retina display. Is this possible. I have the receipt. Box was opened.
No - you have 14 days from date of purchase to exchange or get a refund. That should have been on your receipt somewhere.
I'm afraid that you're just going to have to sell your computer, somehow, and put that money towards a new one.
Why in the world did you buy what you didn't want?

I had an itune account and library with lots of my music and purchased music. I had it under another email address using Windows. I purchased a MacBook pro and in my learning how to use it, being so different, I created another apple id and now I can't access my old account or purchases... Is there anything I can do to fix this... Ann
If you have purchases on your iPod Shuffle that you want to sync back to iTunes, but are under the Apple ID you no longer have access to, you'll need to reset that account information. You can use this link to reset your password.
https://iforgot.apple.com/
If that doesn' work or help, you'll need to contact iTunes support and have them walk you through the process of resetting the older account information. Once you know the email and password again, you can authorize your new computer and transfer any purchases from this account back to iTunes.
For all non-iTunes purchased content, you'll need to the assistance of some sort of third party software that is not supported by Apple. See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different methods and software available to assist you with the task of copying content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.

I am a average user, watch a lot of movies, play music, word processing, lots of internet browsing etc.
I am currently considering the following:
Refurbished 13.3-inch MacBook Pro 2.6GHz Dual-core Intel i5 with Retina Display
Originally released October 2013
13.3-inch (diagonal) Retina display; 2560-by-1600 resolution at 227 pixels per inch
8GB of 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
512GB Flash Storage1
720p FaceTime HD camera
Intel Iris Graphics
OR
Refurbished 13.3-inch MacBook Pro 2.9GHz Dual-core Intel Core i7 with Retina Display
Originally released October 2012
13.3-inch (diagonal) Retina display; 2560-by-1600 resolution at 227 pixels per inch
8GB of 1600MHz DDR3L SDRAM
512GB Flash Storage
720p FaceTime HD Camera
Intel HD Graphics 4000
They are both roughly the same price.I would tend to opt for the newer one. Even though the CPU specs suggest that the 2012 is faster, from a practical perspective you will be hard pressed to notice the difference in 'real' world conditions.

My Battery had a meltdown in my Macbook pro last summer. I was fortunate enough that I removed it before any real damage was done to my computer, however I'm not sure of the correct model of my computer or where to find the correct battery for it. I want to be sure I don't buy the wrong replacement for it. Do all the Macbook pro's use the same battery from 2008 til now??? Please help!!!!!!! I'm tired of always having to be plugged in...lol
THANKS!!!!System Profiler>Power>Battery Information (on right side).

I've just bought a new MacBook Pro Retina which comes pre installed with pages, keynote and numbers. If i want to get them on my iMac will i have to pay for them?
No, sign into the Mac App Store on your new computer with the same Apple ID and the Mac App Store should offer you the download at no cost in your Purchased apps section.
I guess the rub would be if you didn't have the apps pre-installed to the correct Apple ID account.

I can't seem to decide between the 13" or the 15" MacBook Pro. I had a 14.5" I'm just used to that size. Dell which crashed on me for the third and last time. It was also my primary home computer. Is the 15" necessary or should I just get the 13"? I probably won't be doing any graphics or anything like that.
It is really a matter of your personal preference. You have to choose between the extra carrying convenience of the smaller machine and the greater "real estate" of the bigger. I use a 15", and have not found it inconvenient for carrying, even on aircraft, where it has to share backpack space with an SLR camera and assorted lenses.
