I bought a MacBook Pro Retina a few months ago. I do not understand why I have more than 100 GB of Others in my storage? Can anyone please explain?

My MacBook Pro with Retina display suddenly gave me a message when I boot up ie 'Your startup Disk is full' then after using a few more times, the screen suddenly become frozen white. Upon getting help, I managed to delete some files but when I checked the Storage space, the largest occupied space was orange color, named 'Others' which is more than 100 GB out of the total 120 GB!! I am surprised and do not understand what 'Others' mean. It is definitely not Audio, Video, Pictures, documents etc It is not mail too. If anyone can tell me what 'Others' in storage mean and how to see the contents of 'Others' so that I can delete those irrelevant files. Any advice and guidance is very much appreciated. You can always ask but I'm betting that Apple won't replace the machine. The speed increase was modest, so I wouldn't worry too much about it anyway.

As far as I know, Aluminum is never rusted!
This is really really disappointing.
I think Mac has done over claiming on their "unibody" - which was said form "single piece of Aluminum" by Jonathan Ive.

Let the Apple folks - or an AASP - run diagnostics on the machine. They'll be able to tell if you need a new logic board or not. Get an estimate - if it seems outrageous then it's probably time to buy a new computer.

In October 2013 I was on Vacationin Dubai and bought there Macbook pro retina ME665. I returned to Kyrgystan (home town) and for New Year I was away for a week. When I came back i found that the dispaly of my laptop became white and black, some lines appeared on it. Everybody in my family told me that no one has dropped my laptop or done anything that can cause this problem. there is no any service provider of apple in my country. WIl, the international warranty cover this case? I bought this laptop not from apple store,but in a simple store and I lost reciept.

There are different templates for iPhoto books and they differ from version of iPhoto to iPhoto, so explore the other options.

Well of course you won't have iWeb on a new MacBook from this year. iWeb has not shipped on new Macs for a long time now and Apple has not sold iLife through its stores or online for over a year and does not support iWeb any longer.
If you want iWeb now, you will either need to purchase a new copy of iLife or try and find the old install discs from your old Mac and re-install iWeb from that disc. It also depends on what iWeb version you were using too - iWeb 08 or 09? If 08, then this is not compatible with Mavericks which will be running on a new Mac, so you'll need iWeb 09 for this. If you can find your old install discs and they are iWeb 09 then go ahead and use these, but if not, you will have to purchase the iLife 09 or 11 boxed set from Amazon and both of these contain iWeb 09 and you can then install it.
Also, when you set up your new Mac, did you migrate info over? If you had built a website on your old Mac, then you need to data file where all iWeb info is stored and that is called your domain.sites file and you need this file to be transferred if you want your website back again.
Can you get access to thhis file on your old Mac and transfer it? If you can then fine, you can access your website again, but if not, you are out of luck and you'll have to re-build your website from scratch using iWeb.
If you don't have iWeb, then now might be a good time to move forward and look at the many alternatives that are out there such as RapidWeaver, Sandvox, and EverWeb which is billed as an iWeb replacement and is very much like iWeb, but with SEO and the ability to create drop down menus built in (check out http://www.everwebapp.com). Other alternatives also include Flux 4, Freeway Pro and Express and WebAcapella 4.
Have a look and most of these allow you to download free trials so you can try before you buy.

Oh, by all means. Uninstall it using its uninstaller if you have one. Do not install any anti-malware software as it's unneeded with OS X Lion or Mountain Lion.
Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash. Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder. Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space. If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application. In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder. You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder. You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder. Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item. Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder. Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences. Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab. Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS. Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term. Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default. You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder. Usually with the same name as the program or the developer. The item generally has a ".pkg" extension. Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.

Yes thats what i thought but i only have 77 days left on my garentee so its a worry, and have to drive 1 hour to get to closest Apple shop, spent the whole day there today when i should have been at work and have to make the drive again on Monday Then back again next Friday to pick it up. To restore the MacBook Pro to factory settings:
1. Make a backup of your files because everything will be erased.
2. Insert the Snow Leopard disc and press the C key while your Mac is starting to start from the DVD.
3. Go to Utilities menu > Disk Utility, select Macintosh HD on the sidebar, go to Erase tab and erase the disk.
4. Close Disk Utility and install Mac OS X
