Unless you subscribe to iTunes Match , Apple does not keep a backup of your iTunes library.  Even then it is not the library as it exists on your computer, but some version of the media, and only media files, not playlists.  Even then not all media are definitely available since anything removed from the iTunes Store since you purchased it is not available for re-download.

In your case it sounds like you will have to obtain non iTunes purchases from their original source or a backup you may have made at some time in the past.

    Hello there, Capricious13.
There are great pointers in the following Knowledge Base article. Depending on where you see the content and where you want to get it to, this should guide you to putting it in the right place:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • I have a new computer. how do i get my library off my old computer to my new one

i have a new computer. how do i get my library off my old computer to my new one.

    OK...
    See Here for one way
iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer
    Or...
From your Old Computer... Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..
An Added Bonus is that you will then have a Backup of iTunes...

  • Just bought a new computer How do I get all my music from old computer to the new one?

Bought a new computer with Windows 8.  How do I get all the music off my old computer transferred to the new one.  All the music on the old computer is in the cloud.

Copy the entire iTunes folder from your old computer to your new one using one of the methods discussed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4527.

  • Bought a new computer, how do I move my library full of referenced files?

I have my Aperture library on my laptop with all masters referenced and stored in a folder called "raw" in my home directory.
I'm trying to move everything over to my new Mac Pro, but I'm having trouble. I copied the folder of referenced masters into the home directory of my new computer, copied the library, preferences, etc. Of course when I start Aperture on the Mac Pro, it can't find the masters because the volume name is different. So I thought I could relocate the masters, but when I do this for an image, the thumbnail turns grey and in the viewer I get an "Unsupported Image Format" error. This happens for both JPG and NEF files.
Any suggestions? I have a rather complex folder structure with many projects, so I don't want to export individual projects.
    Thanks,
    steve

    Hi,
I haen't done this myself from a computer to another
When You mention you used "relocate masters"... how did you connect both computers? was one in Target disk mode. via ethernet?.
    did you try this:
    - in the "sharing"' pref panel, give your mac pro the name of your old computer.
    - start your old mac in firewire target disk mode (no name conflict as your old computer is not being used: only its HD)
    - copy the library to the new drive in the Mac Pro
    - launch AP on the mac pro and select the copied library. relaunch. because the computer name is identical and the disk from your old computer is mounted, you should see AP finding its referenced masters.
    - initiate the relocation of masters now
(be aware that I haven't tried this, this is just an educated guess)
(also, if you have a complex folder strcuture, try relocating just one or twwo pix and observe the new structure. Aperture cannot reproduce several custom-named folders in a new structure, unfortunately...
PS : while we'(re here, I advise you to format several drives as a RAID 0 array inside the mac pro in order to get a good responsivity from Aperture... this makes an amazing difference... most photographers disregard the value of fast storage. by fat I mean faster than a single device... hoping I'm legible...

  • New ipod and new computer, how do I get my songs back?

I recently moved. In my move, my ipod shuffle was damaged, but is now replaced(thankyou warranty). But I also have a new computer. I've logged in and my account appears, but where have all my purchased itunes gone? How do I get them back? I really don't want to buy all those songs again.

Restore them from the old computer, or click here and fill out the form, or purchase them again. It is the responsibility of purchasers to make backups, and Apple rarely allows people to freely redownload purchases other than applications because Apple pays a royalty on other types of content.

  • I just installed itunes on my laptop, my other one died. How do i get my library back?

just bought a new computer how do i get my libray music, video, ect.. back on itunes. other computer died.

Depending upon what country that you are in you might be able to re-download your iTunes music purchases and tv shows and, if you are in the US, some/all of your films : re-downloading. Have you not got a backup of your content on, for example, an external drive that you can copy onto the computer and add into its iTunes ?

  • HT1386 I bought a new computer and I cannot transfer my library to this new one. The message says that I'm not allowed to sync with two computers??? How can I delete the previous from my account???

I bought a new computer and I cannot transfer my library to this new one. The message says that I'm not allowed to sync with two computers??? How can I delete the previous one from my account???

You cannot transfer from the iPhone to the computer.
You must move the contents of your old computer to the new one directly.
Use an external hard drive perhaps or restore your old computer backup to your new computer.
The iPhone is not the source of your data, that is the computer, the iPhone is only a slave device to iTunes.

  • I just bought a new computer, how can I start syncing with this computer without erasing everything already on my iphone?

I just bought a new computer, how can I start syncing with this computer without erasing everything already on my iphone?
Everytime I try to use the option sync manual it wants me to erase everything.
    Please help

The iPhone can be synced to one and only one computer at a time. Before you "marry" it to your new computer, be sure your new computer contains all the old computer's information. When you sync the iPhone to a new computer, it will be erased first. Then, whatever is on your iTunes Library will be synced to the iPhone.
Read: iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer
You can also copy its previous backup from the old computer to the new one, then "restore from backup".
    From iTunes: About iOS backups
Where iTunes backups are stored on your computer
The folder where your backup data are stored varies depending on the computer's operating system. Make sure the backup folder is included in your periodic data-backup routine.
iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: To quickly access the Application Data folder, click Start, and choose Run. Type %appdata% and click OK.
    Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: To quickly access the AppData folder, click Start. In the search bar, type %appdata% and press the Return key.

  • My last computer crashed and it had all my songs and i got a new ipod how do i get those songs back

ok so my last computer crashed and it had all my songs and that day i got a new ipod how do i get those songs back thast i paid for?

If the songs are not on an iPod or a computer (didn't you have a backup of your computer files?) you are probably out of luck since you only get one download of music from the iTunes store and it is up to you to back them up.  However, the Itunes store may allow a redownload if you explain what happened.  Go to the following and select the appropriate topic to contact them.

  • My computer crashed  ,i have a new one how do i get my apps back?

My computer crashed and i have a new one. how do i get my itunes back and all my apps and music?

you can get your apps back by looking at you download history after signing in in itunes.
for the songs if they were purchased from the itunes store, same method.
if they were just mp3 files dowloaded from somewhere else, unless you have them saved somewhere, sorry man.
