I bought a new desktop, which is running Mountain Lion; do I have to buy it again for my laptop?

If the new desktop came with Mountain Lion already installed, you will have to purchase it separately for your portable. If you purchased ML for the desktop, you do not need to pay for it again.

how do i get my hotmail contacts to sync to icloud on my mac which is running mountain Lion 10.7.4?

You would have to export your contacts from Exchange and import them into iCloud somehow. I have to admit I don't know of an easy way to do this but maybe one of the other volunteers here will know how to do it.

My Macbook crashed yesterday, with After Effects on it. I bought a new one, but how can i re-install After Effects, without buying it again? I logged in to my creative cloud-account, but i can't find the program or the order of the program in my history...

    Download CS6 products
Contact support to reset activations. For anything beyond that we will need proper technical info - exact system, exact program versions and so on.

  • Hi, i bought numbers for my mac air in august. do i have to buy it again for my iPhone 5?

hi, i bought inumbers for my mac air in august. do i have to buy it again for my iPhone 5?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
There are two differents Numbers versions: Numbers for OS X, and Numbers for iOS.
For your Mac, you purchased Numbers for OS X, so now you can install Numbers on all your Macs as many times as you need for free. However, the iPhone 5 uses Numbers for iOS, so you have to purchase Numbers for iOS in order to get this app onto the phone

There are two SL disks you can buy from Apple: single license (1 system, http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A) and family pack (5 systems, http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC574Z/A).
    Single costs $29, 5-user family costs $49.
Single-use only can be used on one machine at a tiime.

  • Mini DisplayPort to VGA isn't working. It won't recognize any external monitor. It worked just fine with my older spring 2011 MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard, but now with my brand new 2012 MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion, it no longer works

I just bought a new MacBook Pro this summer and was all excited. But I'm very frustrated right now because I can't connect to any external monitors through VGA. My thunderbolt (DisplayPort Mini) to HDMI works just fine, but when I try with my other connector to go from Thunderbolt (DisplayPort Mini) to VGA, Nothing works. my screen goes blue and changes size like it recognized something but nothing is ever detected on the external moniter or projector. I'm not sure what is wrong but it's very frustrating. I'm just very depressed that it worked just fine with my 2-year-old MacBook Pro but isn't working now. I'm running OS X 10.8.2. I just upgraded yesterday from 10.8.1 but that upgrade did nothing to fix my problem. Can anyone help? Thanks

I am haveing this exact same issue. I have plugging in 3 monitors and tried two different VGA to mini displayport and nothing is working. I recently bought a Acer monitor and it work for an hour and now it back to doing the same thing.
When I plug the VGA adapter in to the monitor the monitor think its not connected to a computer then when disconnecting the VGA adapter the monitor thinks it is connected to a computer.
NEED SOME HELP!!! at the point of all my hair is pulled out.
    ^^^
that is the same problem i am having! if anyone can help that would be great i'm losing my mind over here

  • Can I install Windows 8 in my new MacbookPro. Its running Mountain Lion

I have just bought a new macbook pro with Mounitain Lion and want to install windows 8. Are they compatible. If so do I just follow the bootcamp instructions
    thanks

Apple has not released a Driver package for Win 8 yet. So it would be better to install Windows 7 in a Boot Camp partition.
But if you really want to install Win 8 do a Google search for "Install Win 8 in Boot Camp" and see what problems you may encounter.

  • HT201343 AirPlay with new (2012) MB Air running mountain Lion.

I have an external display connected to my display port.  It is an extended desktop (not mirrored).  I wanted to use airplay to mirror my MAIN desktop.
Problem I am having is that I can only seem to mirror my connected external display.  Is there a setting to change this?  Work around?

Only using AirParrot I still using AppleTV as an extended monitor. Using only ML I can't do it, only mirroring.
It's so bad. Seems like they are not looking for developers or designers or publishers, but only for content consumer.

  • I bought the iWork apps for IOS, do I have to buy them again for my iMac?

I purchased the three Cloud-based iWork programs on my iPad2 with the hope that I could delete all traces of Microsoft from my life. They are on and update on both my iPad and iPhone. But the App Store on my iMac doesn't show that I purchased these programs. I really don't want to buy the same software twice just to test them to see if they can replace MS-Office. RIght now the IOS programs are a waste of money beause I won't use them unless I can also use them on my home and work iMacs.

Numbers is very powerful and works in a way that Excel doesn't, more like DTP with individual spreadsheets that talk to each other. If you get into it you can do things that Excel users can't even dream of.
Keynote IMHO is far superior to PowerPoint. Al Gore got an Oscar for his An Uncomfortable Truth done with Keynote.
Pages is not Word but will work with Word opening and saving with some incompatibilities. If you have to closely work with MsWord users, particularly PC users, then Pages may or may not suit you. However Pages has its own unique strengths that make many people drop MsWord all together. It has considerably more DTP abilities than Word and powerful internal spreadsheets and charts that are almost a match for Numbers.
You can buy them individually from the M.A.S. so if you have no use for the others, don't buy them.
At the moment you can not get Word for iOS, and it costs considerably more, so it is up to you to chose.

  • When I use migration assistant to move all my data from my Macbook Air to my Pro, it uses the last full back up not the last partial back up. The last full backup is two months old though. Both machines are running Mountain Lion. How do I get my latest 1

    Hi
I need to move my data from a time capsule that backuped my Macbook Air (which has been destroyed by liquid damage) to my Macbook Pro. The Air and the Pro both run Mountain Lion and I have a clean installation on the Macbook Pro.
I used Migration Assitant to move the data across but while I have back ups of my Air up to 24 hours before it was destroyed, the migration assistant only wishes to migrate data from the last full back up that it finds which is 2 months old.
Please can you advise how I can restore the latest data to my Macbook Pro.
    Many thanks.

please let me know the linksys device model number you are using ..

It may be that if you already bought the iPad versions using your iTunes account, you get a discount on the Mac versions? (That's just a guess - it applies with FileMaker, but I don't know if it does with iWork).
There is no discount for one version of the iWork apps due to owning the other version.
