I bought a new laptop. Can I sync my ipad to it? And how do I get all the files that were synced to my old laptop?

Do you still have your old computer with your media (music, films, etc) on it so that you can copy them over from it ? If you do then there are a number of methods on this page for how you could copy it over from it : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
If not, and if you don't have your content elsewhere (e.g. music that wasn't bought from iTunes), then there are some programs listed half-way down this page for how to copy content back from a device : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
For iTunes downloads you should be able to copy them from your iPad via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases

If you want to copy files/documents from the iPad then how you do so depends upon what app that they are in and what the app supports e.g. file sharing on the Apps tab in iTunes, transfer via your wifi network, email, dropbox etc

Not sure if this is the right forum for the issue, but... I have a iMac G5 and a MacBook, and I use one or the other for my work. That way I get part of my work on one, and other part on the other Mac. Now, I would like to sinc both of them, so that I have all the files from iMac on the MB, vice versa. I know that I could go slowly and use an external hard drive, copy files from one computer, save on another, but is there any handier and faster way to do it?

You might consider itunes match for moving CDs you've copied into your itunes library if you dont have a way to use home sharing.
iTunes match is an optional service offered by apple that costs about $25 a year. It scans your music library and if it finds music that is already in apple's itunes catalog it'll automatically "unlock"/"store" these in the cloud for you. It sounds like you would like to sync your phone to your new computer. I would start by using the following article to transer your iTunes and App Store purchases to your computer from your phone.

Note: If you had content that was not purchased from the iTunes Store you will need to re import the content from its original media, to your iTunes library separately.
Then backup your device to iTunes with this article:

After your puchases are transferred, and your device is backed up you can Erase and Sync the device, and restore your backup to it, that way moving forward you can sync it like you used to.

In OS X Lion or later, you can reset your user password with your Apple ID.
In Mac OS X v10.6.8 or earlier, follow these steps to reset a password when there is only one administrator account on the computer, or if the original administrator account needs a password reset. HT201250 My macbook pro crashed and I had to install a new hard drive. I restored from Time Machine backup all the files from my old hard drive onto my new one.

Does it really back up the whole new drive or does it only back up what's been added? It seemed like it was doing the whole thing when I tried it. I stopped it. Don't want to use up all the space on my external. Is there something else I need to do or did I mess up by not doing the migrating thing? thanks!

If you installed a new hard drive, it has nothing on it and yes TimeMachine is going to take forever to restore everything back.
I guess you'll have to erase and start over again now.
Too bad, you should have made bootable clones in addition to TimeMachine, they can restore in a hour or two depending upon content, they are also option key bootable.
TimeMachine has to go through and calculate all the files it needs to bring forward, the files are strewn all over the drive. The read heads are moving all over the platters all the time from fast sectors to slow ones, not matching what's occuring on the internal drive.
With a clone the files are defragmented and optimized, the drive reads one file, moves the heads a tiny bit and reads the next all the while transferring exactly to the internal drive, they are more in step with one another, thus it's much faster restoring from a clone than TM.

The iphone is not a storage/backup device.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.
Have you failed to do this?
If so, not good, then you can transfer itunes purchases: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You may be able to purchase a third partyn program to get the rest ( not supported by Apple)

In the File I/O>>Advanced File Functions Palette is a function named "List directory". This function will give you two arrays. One contains the names of all subdirectories the other the names of all files. If you want to sort them by name use the array sort function. If you want to sort them by another attribute use the File/Directory Info function to get more data. Use a cluster which contains the attribut to sort and the original index of the name. Then sort this array.

ICCID unknown is a critical failure, usually caused by hacking or jailbreaking the phone. It can not be fixed. The phone will need to be replaced.
