I bought a Panasonic SD-90 for its 1080/60p feature, did I make a mistake?
I bought a Panasonic SD-90 for its1080/60p features hoping to have the best quality possible for iMovie and eventually Final Cut Pro.
Did I make a mistake?
I found out that iMovie cannot import natively mts files in 1080/60p. Is there another format or Camcoder that can?
Are there some Camcoders that offer 1080/60p quality that are more compatible with iMovie?
I hear Canons are more compatible with Mac. Is that true? If so, in what way would they be more compatible? They use .MOV instead of .MTS?

You cannot import 60P into iMovie without a bit of fiddling. If you have a comfort level in editing hexadecimal files, this may work for you.
Otherwise, your Panasonic probably has different shooting modes. The best for iMovie would be 30P or 60i.

The gift card was from Apple and on campus venders. If you bought the Mac from someone else, then you didn't qualify. If you did buy from Apple or an official on campus Apple partner, speak directly to them.

Help !After plugging in your camcorder, I would run Software update just one more time.
I would also try to see if the app "Image Capture" doesn't see your camcorder. This is found in your applications folder but you can get to it easily by hitting command and space bar to bring up spotlight and then typing "Image Capture".
the current version of iMovie is 9.0.7
you could try creating a new user and seeing if the camera doesn't connect from there.
if it doesn't then you might need to find a friend with a compatible OS until Sony decides to update it's support for OSX.
I looked on their site but it doesn't seem like they've ever supported it with your model.
you might also want to send feedback to apple as to your experience, although their support is limited to their own hardware, so calling Sony might be a better idea...

WHat at are best next steps for me?Is the email from Apple e.g. it's not a phishing attempt to try and get your account and payment details (there are a number of fake purchase emails doing the rounds) ? You can check your account's purchase history via your computer's iTunes : See your purchase history in the iTunes Store - Apple Support.
If it shows there and you didn't rent it, and nobody else has access to your account or devices and made it, then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com

????Mr. Dennis Knutson Please see the subvi for HP34903A switch. Did I make any mistakes?
I just add the 34970A Initialize.vi and 34970A Close.vi together with 34970A switch.vi. I tried the experiment again and again. I still can not open/close the 34903A switches indepedently on slot2. Please see the attached vi. Did I make any mistakes?

If you look inside this VI, you'll see that if you don't choose reset, the command SYSTRES is issued which will preset the instrument to a known configuration. You do not want to call initialize every time. It is enough to call it at the very beginning of your program and then just call HP34970A Switch.vi by itself whenever you want to open and close a relay.

If these charges are being made to a credit or debit card, the most immediate thing you need to do is to call your credit card company or bank and report the unauthorized charges. That company can contact Apple if they need additional information.
Next, log into your iTunes Store account and see if the purchases are reflected in the Purchase History. If they are, immediately change the password to your iTunes Store account, making sure it's not something easily guessed or looked up. Then go here:

and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.
If the charges are not reflected in the Purchase History, then it's most likely a fraudulent charge to your credit card directly rather than an unauthorized purchase through your iTunes Store account in which case it will be up to your bank to handle.

Tap on the id in Settings > Store and log out of it and then login with your id. Any content already on the iPad will be tied to the previous owner's id and it can't be copied or transferred to your id - so it's probably best to do restore the iPad back to factory defaults and start as from new with it : Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Contents And Settings

The friend who sold it to you needed to clear his Apple ID off the phone before he sold it to you. Of course if it wasn't his phone in the first place then he could not do so. He is your friend but you don't know where he is?
There is nothing that will help you short of getting the password for the Apple ID from your friend. If you cannot obtain that there is no workaround. -

What have you done since? I have the same problem with iPad I bought second hand from an individual. The seller won't give me refund or provide me previous owner's contact info. Apple Support told me to contact local police to locate the original owner so I did. Since police didn't have report for this iPad's serial number they won't handle this as theft. I live in Utah and the seller I met with told me he is from Northern India so who knows which country this iPad came from. I wish to let the original owner know i have his/ her missing iPad since Apple doesn't care about consumers once they sold their products. -
I have just bought a Panasonic Lumix compact camera. Aperture and Preview can't open the RAW files from this camera. Panasonic recommend downloading 'SYLKPIX Developer Studio SE' to save RAW file formats.How can Aperture and Preview read the files?
Either use 'SYLKPIX Developer Studio SE' to develope the RAW files and to save them in another lossless format like TIFF, or try if Adobe's free DNG Coverter can convert your Lumix RAW files to dng. Then import the dngs. This way, your files will still be RAW files. This works (most times) for my Lumix FZ28.
