I bought a song and it wont show

So like a few years ago I bought a iPod 4g and I purchased some songs and I forgot all about my iPod and when I remembered I still had it so I decided to use it for music and when I have bought some songs before and when I tap on the song that I have downloaded it only says purchased and I can't tap anything else because the little box were it says buy/download it says purchased so when I go the my purchased on iTunes its not there so what do I do?
By the way my problem is coming from iTunes from my iPod 4g not the computer.

That would indicate that you are not signed into the account used to purchase the song. Is Settings>iCloud signed into the account that purchased the song? iCloud is used for redownloading.

I bought two songs and they didnt show up and i thought it would be like apps when you tried to redownload a paid app it would do it for free 2 song cost me about five dollars and i dont have then in my itunes how can i fix this?

Just for clarity, music redownload is part of iCloud which is presenlty only available in the USA as a beta when you are using the latesest iTunes.

Your balance should show to the left of account id at the top of the iTunes store page on your computer's iTunes. You can also check it by clicking on that id, or doing Store > View My Account, which should show your account balance and let you view your payment info

1st generation ipod. When I plug it into my computer an image of a disk w/a magnifying glass appears (disk scan). Each time I plug it in it does the same thing and it wont show up on my computer.

I then restart it and all looks fine. Each time I plug it in to the computer it does the same thing and it wont show up on my computer. The other strange thing is all of the songs are gone from the ipod but the disk space is still being used. When the ipod is not plugged into the computer everything look fine even the correct date shows up. Any ideas????? Thanks

So last night I bought a song and an album on my iPod touch and when I synced it to my computer none of the songs transferred to my PC and now the songs are gone from my iPod touch. The only thing left is the audiobooklet. So how can I get the songs back?? And the songs aren't showing up as purchased on my iPod touch.
If this makes any sense PLEASE help me (:

Look in your purchase history to see if it shows as purchased. If not, then just purchase again.
If it does show as purchased then try:
In itunes click Store>Check for Available Downloads and see if it shows up.
If not, try attaching the ipod and, in itunes, click File>Transfer Purchases.
If these do not work, the go to purchase history and click "Report a Problem".

Put the device in DFU mode (google it), then restore.

Launch iTunes. From the menu bar click Store / View My Account
Click: Edit Payment Information
Make sure you have the correct Security Code.
Then click: Done

Assuming you bought the song at the iTunes Store, you can go here

and follow one of the "paths" to get what you need or to an Apple customer support employee. One path is to click Contact Support at the bottom of the list of choices, and use the Express Lane.
The iTunes app also has a way to report a problem with a purchase. Select iTunes Store in the sidebar (of the iTunes window). Toward the upper right corner, click on your Apple ID. This gets you to your Account Information screen. Find Purchase History and click See All. On that screen, you can select a specific purchase with that problem, and Report a Problem.
If you want to try to figure out WHY that song does not play on your iPod shuffle, please post back...
