I bought a tv series and stored it on icloud. My iPad let me watch the episodes without downloading them to the device, but as of 5 days ago, it wouldn't let me watch them and I had to download them to watch them. Anyone know what happened?

This seems to have changed lately. I just had 2.4GB free on my phone and noticed something strange. When I turned on "show all videos" and then "streamed" one of my films, I got a notice pop up telling me I was out of storage! I went into settings and looked in general > about and low and behold my 2.4 had gone down to 0. I then unchecked "show all videos" in video settings and bingo my storage popped back up to 2.4GB. I tried this on my iPad too with exactly the same results. It seems it doesn't truly stream the content, it background downloads a file that is hidden behind the GUI and plays from this file. We're tricked into thinking it's streaming because it starts playing right away but this is just because it's a file type that supports QuickStart, so the device doesn't have to wait for the file to complete before it can play.
This to me is a real shame as the big benefit for many would have been to play content over wifi that they have purchased but don't have on the device at the time due to space issues. Whether it's always been like this and nobody else has noticed, or if it's changed in the way it works lately I don't know.
True streaming from iTunes to iOS would be an awesome feature. Maybe apple don't want to give up the bandwidth on it's servers with a world of people streaming.

If the place of purchase does not have a 'Lemon' policy (three replacements = refund or complete exchange), sadly you are out of luck.
And Apple themselves do not have any power over what policy a reseller uses. You can call Apple Care and have them replace it, but the odds are you would probably get a standard replacement again like has previously happened. I'm pretty sure Apple holds their own sort of 'Lemon' polocy where if it's been replaced three times through them they'll swap it out for a brand new phone. Not 100% sure though, best bet is too call them again.
And it ***** getting a response like that from their support personel, but hey, they can't all be that bad can they? I'm sure if you plead your case they'll try and help out. I've dealt with them in the past and had one or two people that rubbed me the wrong way, but most of them have been a great help and kept me a happy customer, haha.

Check that your computer is compatible with Mountain Lion.
To check the model number hold down the option/alt key, go to the Apple menu and select System Information.
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) model number 5,1 or higher
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) model number 3,1 or higher
Your Mac needs:
OS X v10.6.8 or OS X Lion already installed
2 GB or more of memory (More is better - 4 GB minimum seems to be the consensus)
8 GB or more of available space
If your computer isn't compatible, you might be able to upgrade to Lion.

I do not use Windows on my Mac but it is possible I ran ScanDisk on my previous Windows laptop. Perhaps I have inadvertently brought these files to my Mac?? You most likely have zoom on. Double tap with THREE fingers to turn zoom off, if it is on, then: Settings>General>Accessibility...turn it off for good.

I sold my MacBook Air and wiped it clean, however the purchaser can't use some of the programmes as they say they are still registered to me in iCloud. I've tried unregistering the device but it's not in the list of my devices.

However, the new purchaser is having trouble accessing some of the programmes as it is saying they are still registered to me in my iCloud account. The new owner will have to redownload any software that came from the App Store, including OS X upgrades, under his or her Apple ID. If you ever updated the bundled iLife applications (Garage Band, iMovie, and iPhoto) through the App Store, you can't transfer those either.

You must have screen rotation locked. Double click the home button then swipe with your finger on the button of the screen all the way to the right. Then you will see a square with a circular arrow or a padlock in it. Tap on that to unlock t he screen.

If it is charged, try a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The iPad should reboot.

You may have more then one catalog. And you opened the old one by accidente. To switch back to your cuurent one close lightroom and click again the Lr icon to open it before lr lunch click Ctrl+Alt it will open a dialog box from there you can choose which catalog you want to work with.
NB : you can not open two catalogs in same time.

I had to G5's 2.2Ghz donated, and they were not wiped clean, and I don't have a Leopard CD. Anyone know what I can do? I am a non profit.

I would greatly appreciate some help here. I have two PowerPC's that were donated to my community center, and they were not wiped clean. (insert major frowny face) I am at a loss on what to do, being a non profit I don't have much money to spend on having these cleaned off at a local "Authorized Mac Store." I have my figners crossed that someone here might be able to offer me some guideance.

Be careful when deleting files. A lot of people have trashed their system when deleting things.
Place things in trash. Reboot & run your applications. Empty trash.
Go after large files that you have created & know what they are. Do not delete small files that are in a folder you do not know what the folder is for. Anything that is less than a megabyte is a small file these days.

My iPad screen went all white when I was trying to close an app. I cant turn it off and iTune cant sync with it either. Does anyone know what I should do to fix this.

I have an iPad 2 that is about 2 years old and is in good shape. I was trying to swipe off an app when the screen went all white. I held down the power button to shut it down but it wont do any thing but go black. When I press the power button it come back all white with no icons and no passcode pad. Does anyone know how to fix this or what it is?

TThanks for the suggestion but it turns out that you have to hold down the Home button, the Power button AND the Volume UP button at the same time for several seconds until,the Apple appears To fix the white screen of death. Found that on another help site. It works and boy an I glad. Pass it on.
