Is your iTunes running the latest version? If not, but the iPod you've bought has been set up to work with the latest version, then iTunes probably will not recognise it.
In iTunes, select Help/Check for updates. If there is a newer version, make sure you are running that before connecting the iPod again.
If that isn't the problem - or more to the point - it doesn't fix the problem, post here again so that anyone watching it can suggest the next step.

You can bypass the password and wipe the drive and return to the original facory installation if the seller included the orginal install DVDs with the Mac mini. If not you will need a retail version of Mac OS X. To boot from the Install DVD restart the mini, immediately slip in the DVD and press and hold the C key.

If you were able to remove a pascode - what good would using a passcode do? None - that's what good it would do. You cannot remove a forgotten passcode.
You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad/iPod.
I assume that the concept is the same on the 2nd gen iPod.

I bought Bill Bryson's History of Everything, I would like to listen to it while running. I have sync it to the ipod shuffle, it syncs too fast and then doesn't play when I go looking for it, it is not there!

Audiobooks are accessed and selected on the 4th gen shuffle as a "playlist." If you press and hold the VoiceOver button on the shuffle, so that VoiceOver starts going through your playlists, your audiobooks that are synced to the shuffle should be on that list. You can then select it and play it.

I just recieved a new ipod and i cant get it to work on tv

I recently recieved an ipod 5th generation, and inside the case it came with the audio adapter for the tv, but the other end that connects to the ipod is a small usb adapter. my ipod only comes with the big charging connector on the bottom. the only thing on top is the headphones jack. can anyone tell me why i got this cable and can't use it with my ipod?

i recieved a cable with the white and yellow rca jacks on one end and the small usb plug on the other. it seems to me to hook up to the tv, seeing as the ipod has the option for tv out when i got to any video that i have on the ipod.

i bought music using my ipod touch and its wifi features. I then set a passcode adn i cant remember it so i plugged it into my computer. i am comfused because i know i need to restore it, but i will lose all my music that is only on my ipod and trust me, i bought ALOT of music...about 200 dollars worth. i dont want to lose the music because then i will have to buy it again... but i also need the passcode to be taken off. wat do i do?

Try connecting the iPod touch to the computer you normally sync it with.

You cannot use someone else's apps without violating the license agreement. The apps are tied to the owner (via Apple ID). The right thing to do would be to update and start fresh.
