I bought After Effects outright.... but

I paid good money for After Effects but every time I start my computer It tells me my trial has so many days. I registered the program when I bought it and I want to work off line, but it insists on being online. WHY? I have homework I have to get done tonight!!!
Can anyone let me know why? I can't use it when I need to without all of this trouble.

Im using after effects cc but cant find advanced spill suppressor or key cleaner in keying menu.

Im not sure why, but Ive installed the most recent version of after effects cc but when i go to the keying list of tools, the advanced spill suppressor or key cleaner are not there.
I am running an older operating system - version 10.7.5, so is this why? I am trying to work out what is the problem

Can't install After Effects trial but can install other Adobe programs?

I've been trying to download the After Effects trial on my Vista for the past two hours to no avail, with "Error 107". I've tried the troubleshooting on your website, following "Solution 1", clearing cookies, deleting files, trying the download through Chrome AND Internet Explorer, the good old restart the computer, saving the Download Assistant in multiple locations, and NOTHING worked. So I tried seeing if this was the case for all Adobe programs, and every other one works perfectly through the ADA. The problem seems to lie within the After Effects. What's going on and how can I solve this?

Creative Cloud thinks After Effects CS6 is on my computer, but it isn't.

I never installed the trial version of After Effects CS6, but when I went to do so, Creative Cloud said it was already on my computer and up to date.
I searched in all of my system files and nothing came up. I know for sure I have never used it. I can't download the trail from the adobe website because it automatically opens up Creative Cloud, which can't uninstall programs, so I can' get After Effects.

"Media Pending" in Premiere CS5 (But not After Effects)

Hi All
I've seen links referring to this problem for CS4 but the solution did not seem to resolve the CS5 issue.
I can playback an MPEG file in After Effects CS5 but not in Premiere. Trying to export to a Premiere project made the system to hang and required a re-boot when opening in Premiere.
The video was renamed from a JVC .TOD file to a .MPEG file and plays back fine in Windows Media player, without any other files associated with it.
Strange that other apps play it fine and premiere not. Any suggestions?

As a matter of interest, in case anyone else gets the same issue...
Having opened the file in After Effects, re-booted and re-started Premiere, the file now plays back in Premiere. Even though I'd restarted Premiere several times, it appears that only after starting and opening the file in AE did the codec somehow get "registered" in Premiere...
Anyway, problem solved....

How to buy after effects CS6 individually as a student

Dear forum members,
I'm a student advertisement design and I often need to make videos I find easiest to do with After Effects.
At first, when I had to make a video, I used the trial version. But now I have to make a new video for my portfolio and I need After effects CS6 but I can't find it individually without having to buy the whole package of Creative Cloud or as a Individual (but that is to costy as I don't have so much money since I'm still studying).
I've heard it's no longer possible to buy it separately, but is there absolutely another way?
I've already bought A Creative Suites package for students in my first year, when I heard about the Creative Cloud version when I was in my second year. Now I'm in my third so for the 2 year I have left, I don't feel like buying the whole package of Creative Cloud, just for After Effects. Is there a way I can get it - legally - at a student discount as an individual program? I don't want to feel like I've wasted my money by buying Creative Suite 6 at first, when I could have had everything at the price of the Creative Cloud only.

After Effects CC 2014 - Crash on launch

At first - I've read all topics with that problem , and it doesn't work correctly.
I bought After Effects as Single Application yesterday. And I'm very sad, because of this problem. Can anyone help me?
I've tried this - CC Applications crash immediately after launch . It did not make any difference.
I can see the work space of After Effects at start for a slit second before crash. And then my window are makins smaller with crash. But it doesn't save any crash logs. I tried to fix it.
I've reinstalled program something about 5-6 times. I used Cleaner Tool too...

What exact version of After Effects? Include the minor version number---e.g., After Effects CC (12.2.1) or After Effects CS6 (11.0.4). Do not just say "After Effects with the latest updates" or "After Effects CC"; give the specific version number.
Have you installed the recent updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.)
What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like "Mac OSX v10.6.8"---not just "Mac".
If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)?
What were you doing when the problem occurred? What is the exact sequence of steps that you are taking?
Has this ever worked before? If this worked before by doesn't work now, what has changed on your computer in the intervening time?

Make sure you have the right versions of everything. I'm guessing you have CS6. There's not enough info about your system or what is happening. Check everything for updates.

Need help with Motion Tracking-button in After Effects CS6

Hello I just bought After Effects cs6 and wanted to try ''motion tracking'' but I just can't push the motion tracking button. Is there anyone who can help me with that problem?

After Effects CS5.5 - Poor performance

The tech info:
After Effects 5.5 Version 10.5.1.2
Windows 7 x64 SP1
The problem persists when no video is present
No error messages are being shown
Atempting to "Play" in preview or attempting to "Ram Preview" will show the larges problems, seeking in the timeline causes the entire program to hang as well
Not on this computer (My computer specs below)
Chrome, Skype, Steam, Taskmanager (closing all of these does not change the problem)
No thrid party codecs are installed
My computer is as follows:
Core i7 920 (Bloomfiled) OC 3.2ghz (4 cores, 8 logical threads)
XFX 7970 3GB
15GB DDR3 1333mhz (OC 1666)
120gb SSD (280mB/ps read | 240mB/ps writes @ 4k) 25Gb is free
Zero external drives are conected
I am using no 3rd party IO hardware of any kind
The problem persists when OpenGL is on or off
The problem persisits when I am using "Render Multiple frames" and when it is not enabled
My problem is that when I set up a project at 1920x1080 and just ask it to play a black screen I get ~12fps Not Realtime if I set the "preview quality" down to 1/2 I get ~10fps if I set the preview quality down to 1.5% I get ~8fps. While this is occuring my CPU usage is hard at 12% (one logical CPU pegged). When seeking the entire program will hang for 2 to 3 seconds while it grabs and "renders" the next empty frame, adding effects and clips does not change this performance in any way, I can have several clips placed in the timeline and performance persists at its constant 12fps regardless.
If anyone has any ideas Im open, Id love to get after effects working but in this state I spend 75% of my time waiting for the program to "start responding" after asking it to seek.

There is almost no overhead in "rotating" the monitors, thats all native to the GPU. There is no performance difference between 5760x1080 and 3240x1920. If there is any overhead its going to be in the de-stiching of the backbuffers. But this problem persisits even when I am not in an eyefinity display group. Double checked by rotating out of portrait mode as well same performance issue. Figured this was stupid and disabled my other 2 monitors and checked just by using one, same problem no framerate change whatsoever. Thought it my be because of HDMI, nope same thing on DVI.
I dont know what kind of computer still has issues with simple translations of pixels, if this were the early two thousands I could understand where your coming from but its not so I am confused.
Also if it were having trouble with "translating" the pixels 2 things would have happened and below is why I believe that is not possible.
1. Because after effects is running on a different process the "overhead" that you speak of would be handled by the other 7 logical threads or the 88% of the processor that is sitting free.
2. If the "translation" was not handled by the CPU and was GPU bound, that means the bottleneck would have to occur within the GPUs pixelshader array or vertex processor, both of witch are sitting clocked down and not under load. When openGL / DirextX / OpenCL is used the GPU will clock up and become under load, at that point the bottleneck could occur. But this is not the case.
3. After effects has no knowelege of a "rotated" or "eyefinity" display, in windows, the backbuffer is handled the same as any other rotation of the monitor as a simple 2D array of pixels.
I only wish it were so simple as using just 1 monitor.
Any other ideas?
