I bought an Air from someone and I cannot change the Apple ID in the apple store for the updates... even I am logged in for Itunes... PLEASE help..

Hi guys, finally I made it to the apple family by buying an Air from a guy I knew... But I cannot change the ID in the apple store for updates... I managed to change it in Itunes, but when I want to download the updates it would tell me that I should log in with the other account...
Please advise...
Thank you!!!

The OS and the preinstalled iLife apps are permanently assigned to the Apple ID of the original owner. You need to ask the original owner to call Apple Care and request that the Mac be released from his Apple ID.
The only secure way to use a second hand Mac is to erase the HDD and install a fresh version of OS X.
The only version of OS X that the original owner can pass to you is the version of OS X that came preinstalled on the Mac. The original owner cannot legally pass to you any apps that he bought in the MAS.

I bought my iMac from someone. Everything was changed over to my name however when I try to update programs it only shows the old users apple ID and I can't update. How do I change this so I can update the applications and have everything fully under me?

The first thing to do with a second-hand computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. You — not the previous owner — must do that. How you do it depends on the model, and on whether you already own another Mac. If you're not sure of the model, enter the serial number on this page. Then find the model on this page to see what OS version was originally installed.
    1. You don't own another Mac.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) installation disc from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind. If the machine has less than 1 GB of memory, you'll need to add more in order to install 10.6. Preferably, install as much memory as it can take, according to the technical specifications.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that came with it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for some MacBook Air models. For early MBA models, you may need a USB optical drive or Remote Disc. You should have received the media from the previous owner, but if you didn't, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, you don't need media. It should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
    2. You do own another Mac.
If you already own another Mac that was upgraded in the App Store to the version of OS X that you want to install, and if the new Mac is compatible with it, then you can install it. Use Recovery Disk Assistant to create a bootable USB device and boot the new Mac from it by holding down the C key at the startup chime. Alternatively, if you have a Time Machine backup of OS X 10.7.3 or later on an external hard drive (not a Time Capsule or other network device), you can boot from that by holding down the option key and selecting it from the row of icons that appears. Note that if your other Mac was never upgraded in the App Store, you can't use this method.
Once booted in Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. You will need the Apple ID and password that you used to upgrade. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
Then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. To upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, get it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.
    3. Other issues
If you see a lock screen when trying to boot from installation media or in Recovery mode, then a firmware password was set by the previous owner, or the machine was remotely locked via iCloud. You'll either have to contact the owner or take the machine to an Apple Store or another authorized service provider to be unlocked. You may be asked for proof of ownership.
If the previous owner "accepted" the bundled iLife applications (iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band) in the App Store so that he or she could update them, then they're linked to that Apple ID and you won't be able to download them without buying them. Reportedly, Mac App Store Customer Service has sometimes issued redemption codes for these apps to second owners who asked.
If the previous owner didn't deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you wont be able to  authorize it immediately under your ID. In that case, you'll either have to wait up to 90 days or contact iTunes Support.
When trying to create a new iCloud account, you might get a failure message: "Account limit reached." Apple imposes a limit of three iCloud account setups per device. Erasing the device does not reset the limit. You can still use an account that was created on another device, but you won't be able to create a new one. Contact iCloud Support for more information.

  • HT204053 I bought an iPhone from someone and I need to set up an iCloud account and it is not giving me the option? What am I missing

I bought an iPhone from someone and there iCloud account is still on the device. I would like to know how to skip this step or add my own. I have never had an iPhon before so I have no idea what I am doing. Can someone please help me????

Only the previous owner can help you.  They either need to provide you with the ID and password to delete the existing account, or erase the device and remove it from their account as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4515.  If they aren't willing to do that, return it and ask for your money back.

Hi, I already installed photoshop trial version and three weeks later I paid on-line for 300 Baht for buy it but it still ask me to join and pay for it.  How can I update it in my log in account. Please help.?

You do not buy Photoshop for 300 baht, you are renting it for that much a month. You set up an account with a valid credit card and to see if it is active, you go here. https://www.adobe.com/account/my-products-services.html  Look under my Subscriptions.
If all is good, then with the same Adobe ID/password, select "License this Product" and sign in, or Help > Sign in.
    That will license it.

  • What do you do if you bought an ipad from someone and it's locked and you have no way to get ahold of them

I just a ipad from someone and it's still under someone else's account

What you have encountered is a security feature called activation lock. An iPad running iOS 7 cannot be reset to a new user without the previous owner releasing the device by turning off Find My iPhone or entering their Apple ID and password.
The best thing you can do is to try an contact the person you bought the iPad from and get a refund. Chances are the iPad was stolen.

  • Bought a mac from someone and need to transfer purchased apps

I recently bought a Macbook Pro from a local individual. Part of the agreement was the they would install iMovie and iPhoto, which they did.
The problem is now that I have the MBP, I am being prompted to update iPhoto and iMovie, but I cannot update the two apps because the apps are linked to the prior owners Apple ID.
What would be the necessary steps to resolve this short of getting the seller to pony up password (unlikely)? The seller has offered to meet and perform the upgrade, but our schedules have not been able to sync and it would be nice to know what can be done in the even other apps need to be updated down the road.
    Thanks.

The best way to handle this is to delete the apps from the Mac and purchase iMovie and IPhoto from your own Apple ID.
You would be prompted for his or her Apple iD for every update otherwise.
Use this free utility to delete the apps >  Download AppCleaner for Mac
That uninstalls the apps and all their associated files.
Never a good idea to try and use someone else's Apple ID.

  • I  bought used ipad from someone and i dont have eny connection way to hem and i dont have his apple accont , what should i do ? i want help please.

How can i remove apple accont in used ipad?

If the iPad has Activation Lock - that is, it's asking for the previous owner's Apple ID and password to activate the device - then you will need that information, or you'll need to get the previous owner to remove the device from his/her iCloud account:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2702
If you can't reach the previous owner or he/she is unwilling to cooperate, then the device is unusable by you. Return the iPad for a refund if you can.

  • HT5085 Please some one help me! i bought a album 24hours ago and it douwnloaded bout doe not play. i'm trying to re-douwnload it but doesnt want to do any thing. please help??

hi, could some one please help me? i bought a album 24hours ago and it does not play. so i deleted it and tryed to download it again, but it says its already downloaded. what can i do? PLEASE HELP?!

Make sure you delete all the tracks from within iTunes itself, not just the track files. Once you remove the tracks from iTunes' library listing, then you should be able to download the tracks again from your Purchases list.

  • I bought a iphone from someone and i think the driver and software has been removed. Is there anything on the web that i can download to reinstall the software i need to get it working again

Is there any software that i can download from the web to fix my phone? i bought it off the streets and the software and driver must have been deleted cause i can only get the itunes logo and i cant restore it.

There is no driver software on the iPhone that anyone can remove, per se. Why can't you restore? Is the iPhone not recognized in iTunes? If not, see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538

Otherwise, please post back with details about the problem and someone can probably provide further suggestions.

  • I bought an iPod from someone and its disabled and i dont have the primary computer

I have no idea on what to do i got the ipod and it was disable and when i connected it to my iTunes it told me to connect it to its primary computer. It is an old iPod it is probably a first or second generation

    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    For how to restore:

    To restore from backup see:

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:

  • I bought a imac from someone and when ever i try to open a .exe file it wont open its says "choose from the fallowing programs to open " what should i do now

what should i do now plz hel;p

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Macs use OS X, which is an operating system different than Windows. EXE files are designed to work in Windows, so it's normal that you can't run them.
If it's a program, you can try an application like CrossOver that allows you to install Windows applications in OS X. However, note that it doesn't always work correctly, so the best option is to run Windows in your Mac.
To decide if you need Windows on Boot Camp or virtual machine, see > https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3321
If you need a virtual machine, install an application like Parallels, VMware Fusion or VirtualBox, and create a virtual machine to install Windows.
If you need Boot Camp, first see which operating systems you can install > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5634 Then, open Boot Camp Assistant (in /Applications/Utilities) and follow its steps. Follow Apple's steps > http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/boot_camp_install-setup_10.8.pdf

  • I just bought iWorks Serial Number Key over the internet. When I use the key, iWorks tells me the key is invalid!! Please help. (I bought this iWorks from someone in Singapore. I am using it in Malaysia)

I just bought iWorks Serial Number Key over the internet. When I use the key, iWorks keep telling me the key is invalid!! Please help. (I bought this iWorks from someone in Singapore. I am using it in Malaysia.). Thanks

Downloaded the Trial version. It still says the serial number key is invalid. On the iWork page where I am suppose to enter the serial number key, the "Go Back" button is always BOLD, but the "Continue" button remains GREY all the time. The "Continue" button remains grey even after I have completed the key entry. I have to type the "Return" key on my keyboard to force enter the key. The message I get is still "Invalid key".
I have called Apple. The first person helped by asking me to delete certain items in some Folders and it still did not work. I was then connected to a senior person, but I heard over the recording that there were 15 persons waiting on the line. I had to end the call because the wait will take too long.

  • I purchased a macbook air from someone on craigslist, and when i try to download iPhoto, it tells me that these apps were already designated to another apple id.

I purchased a macbook air from someone on craigslist, and when i try to download iPhoto, it tells me that these apps were already designated to another apple id. any way to reset the app store from thinking it's still alligned with him? Lion was reset already, but this isn't. If i download on my mac mini, will i then be able to retrieve the download on my air?

    Hi...
On the MBAir drag the iPhoto app to the Trash, empty the Trash.
Then try purchasing and downloading iPhoto.
You can re download iPhoto on all your authorized Macs. To authorize the MBAir, launch iTunes. From the menu bar click Store > Authorize This Mac. You will be prompted for your Apple ID and password.
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select which apps you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed  then click Install.
Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
