I just finished installing an Epson Workforce 545 on Lion. This info is valid as of early March 2012. The trick seems to be this: DON'T install using the CD that comes with the printer. DON'T download the driver from Epson.
First do an Apple Software Update to make sure the machine is up-to-date. Then simply open the Printer & Scan preferences and add the Epson printer. It will download the driver directly from Apple and you will be good to go. If you do install the bad drivers from Epson, you have to remove the /Library/Printers/EPSON folder and also anything EPSON in the Cache folder, then start over.

I have a Brother HL-2270DW that is wirless and it comes with an installation CD. But I don't have an external CD DRive for my imac. I have downloaded the driver online but I don't what to do from here. I suppose if I had the cd drive it would take me through it step by step but I can't.

Epson Workforce 30 Printer doesn't work since installing 10.6.1
After installing Snow Leopard, the window showing current printer activity indicated that I needed to visit the manufacturer's website to download new drivers in the main dialogue box. I did this and followed all installation instructions given on Epson's site. Now when I try to print, it shows a smaller error message in line with the job currently shown as printing. I tried going into the printer setup> select driver window. But the most recent version I had downloaded wasn't included in the list.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.Apple just released a new package of Epson printer drivers. Look for them at support.apple.com/downloads/.
If your printer is not supported in the above and Epson does not have Snow Leopard compatible drivers for your printer yet, then you may be SOL for the time being. In this case contact Epson to see when then expect to have a compatible driver for your printer. -
i have a g4 running os10.4.11, i bought a epson workforce 1100 and tried to set it up but there is not a listing for it when i try to add it before installing the driver software from the supplied cd...anyone know what i can do to get it set up?
Load the drivers and you should then be able to add it in Print Center.

I have an iMac running OS X 10.8.3 and have connected an Epson Workforce 2540 printed that is allegedly Airprint enabled. I can connect and print with a USB cable but can't connect via Airprint. My colleague running 10.7 can. Is this a feature of 10.8? Any ideas for a fix?
iOS devices use AirPrint to connect to a supported printer. OS X will use Bonjour to locate and connect to the same printer.
With the Epson connected to your wireless router, when you open Print & Scan and click the plus button to add, does the Epson appear in a small box with a heading of Nearby Printers?
If not and a window appears showing Default, Fax, IP and Windows in the toolbar, do you see the Epson with the Default view selected? -
Problems printing with Mountain Lion and Epson WorkForce 645.
Ever since I installed Mountain Lion I've been having problems printing on my Epson WorkForce 645. My initial problems started while trying to print from Google Chrome. The printer would always jam once I tried to print from the browser. I would have to open another browser (like Safari) and print from there. After driver updates from Apple, my printing problems got worse. I'm now not able to print from Microsoft Excel or QuickBooks anymore.

I recently bought an Epson Artisan 837 printer. I installed the driver and now Photoshop from CS3 will not open. It closes every time it gets to the point where it is loading the Twain portion. But, no, don't look to Epson for fixes to their driver in newer versions, and Adobe has deprecated the TWAIN plug-in. Hoping for a solution there is futile. That has not happened and it's never going to happen. The consensus is that it's pretty foolish to tie up Photoshop to scan. Honestly.
Any improvement in the behavior of newer versions of the Epson drivers in that regard would be pure coincidence.
You need to understand that you never, ever scan "within" Photoshop, as Photoshop has no scanning capabilities whatsoever. When you use the Import > Twain plug-in all you are doing is blocking Photoshop while you call up the stand-alone Epson scanning software. If you think about it, its most inefficient.
VueScan has a pretty powerful scanning plug-in that can be called from the Impost menu—if you insist. VueScan is not free, but it's a pretty good value, IMO.
As for the Epson CD printing software, I have no clue. Sorry. -

Trying to download the latest update for Epson printer/scanner but although it starts (up to about 5KB of 26.8MB) it stops without completing. The download list shows it is installed ( 8 times!) but there is nothing in Finder downloads. What can I do to download this update
