I bought an iPad 2 on 10/11/2011, will it have the new iOS5 on it?
I ordered my iPad yesterday (10/11/2011), but they released the new iOS5 today, I just want to know if it'll already be updated with the new OS on it, or because I bought it a day too early, will it still not have the new OS on it?
It took me 4 hours to update my iPhone and I knew it would because this always happens with a major release. I had some problems, took me about 3 tries but, as all my information was backed up, I didn't really care if the phone got wiped. Always have a back up!
I haven't done my iPad yet because it's a 64 gig model (phone's only 16) so I imagine it could take even longer. But, as you've noted, you won't have anything on yours. You should be fine.

Remember - if you bought any apps with another ID you cannot update them with a different ID.
Try changing the ID in the App Store. Tap on Featured - swipe to the bottom of the screen - tap on the ID in the bottom left corner - and see if you can change it that way.
If that doesn't work, sign out of your account altogether, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
I guess I should ask - what ID is it coming up with and why is it coming up with that ID?

I want to upgrade my phone to the 4 or 4s. My macs are still running Tiger. If I bought an iPad 2, could I sync everything to it from the 4 without using a Mac at all, and then be able to iCloud my calendar and contacts, etc?

You don't need a computer to activate a new iOS device anymore. Anything with iOS 5 can be activated over a WiFi network (or cellular if that applies). -

My parents just bought an ipad. Their apple ID is correct in all the places except in the iTunes and App Stores settings. It won't let you click on the Apple ID to change it. What should they do?
Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

What will happen to " the new iPad " I bought 2 months ego. Now the model is discontinued . What apple will do?....really disappointing.
I just bought two new iPads a few weeks ago. If they're still in the return window they're going back. Maybe it's time to look at some of the Android tablets since all of a sudden Apple thinks the mini is a great idea.

Hi..I recently bought an IPAD and I absolutely love it. I have been Skyping w/my family during this deployment for the past two weeks until yesterday. The camera on my side just stopped working. I am able to see my family. Any help.
Try closing the Camera/Skype app:
1. Double-click the Home button to reveal the Task Bar
2. Hold down the Camera/Skype app for a second or two until you see the minus sign
3. Tap the minus sign to close app
4. Tap area above Task Bar to return to Home screen
If the above doesn't solve the problem, do a reset:
Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider -

It may or may not be possible to verify the usage of such a technology device. And where did you get the idea that it costs $10 to manufacture and sell an iPad? I think the parts cost alone was $260, not counting manufacturing, shipping, storage, retail space, salespersons, helpdesk support, all the other overhead costs, etc. etc.
With so many people out there trying to scam the system, it will be an uphill battle to try to convince anyone that you bought it and didn't open the box for 14 months. That's very unusual.
At some point, the store you bought something from (in this case it was Apple) has to say no. What if it had been unopened for 2 years, or five years, or 20 years? This is what the warranty period is all about. It starts on the day you buy it and ends at the end of the warranty period, regardless of usage.
I am sympathetic to your plight but if you are able to get a new iPad (refurbished would be more likely), it will be through the kindness of Apple going above and beyond. If you do not get one, it is not Apple's fault you waited this long and there is no requirement for them to replace it. -
Ok Apple users...Is there a way to delete e-mails on my Mac and not have to delete the same e-mails on my iPhone, and iPad...and vise-versa. I have the Cloud, and thought that everything would sync all of the time. If you know of a setting I need to adjust, please let me know.
Are you referring to @mac.com, @me.com or @icloud.com emails? Or some other email providers emails?
If the former, it should do that automatically. If the latter, no. iCloud does not (nor is it supposed to) sync non-Apple provided emails. -
I have the new IPad and can't connect via bluetooth to any of my apple devices (IPhone 4s and appleTV) neither from my new IPhone 4s. When I turn the Bluetooth on, both devices keep in searching mode... I don't know what to do now... Please help... I can't pair any device because they can't find whitin themselves.

Hi maggieanntb, your sister's Apple ID came up because an app(s) was downloaded using her account. To prevent that from happening, you would have to delete the app(s) that were downloaded on her's, and re-download them using your own Apple ID.
