Be careful - there's a difference between update and upgrade. Your machine is saying there are no updates available, meaning no later versions of OS X 10.5 (Leopard). However, you can very likely upgrade - at least to OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), and possibly then to OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion).
Updates are free, but upgrades cost a bit. That's the dirference. -
i have the iphone 3gs and ive dropped it a few times. when i press the home and lock button, it will not turn on, but when i plug it in, it says in big font IOS 6 and when i slide it open it says connect to itunes or emergency call. it wont turn on when i plug it in to my pc. tips?

So I bought an iphone 3GS from a friend of mine and when i try to restore it, it wont work. Now i know that it could have been the computer or it could have been that he jailbroke it and never told me but i just want to get someone elses opinion/help before i go out and spend money to try and fix it.
There are a couple of things you can try. First, are you sure the computer you are using has never been used to jailbreak ANY iDevice (not just the phone with the problem). If you are sure of this do the following:
Reboot the computer
disable your antivirus and firewall
launch iTunes
Connect the USB end of the sync cable to a USB port on the computer itself, not a hub. Do not connect the other end yet
Hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons on the phone until the screen goes blank - IMMEDIATELY release the SLEEP button, but continue holding the HOME button
Connect the dock cable to the phone while holding the HOME button
Wait for iTunes to recognize the phone, then release the HOME button
If the baseband firmware is not corrupted or the wrong version the phone will restore and remove the jailbreak. If not you haven't lost anything. -
When I try to play albums or artists or any other catagories on my itunes library my iphone 3GS will only repeat the first song over and over and will not go on to the other songs. This just started. It won't random or play through the whole album or artist. How can I remedy this problem?

That options comes with iOS 5. Yo need to connect the iPad to your computer and update via iTunes. You need iTunes 10.7 or later on the computer.

still tied to a wireless carrier, and iPhones that are not tied to a wireless
carrier. Both are are the same price. Price paid is not a guarantee of an
unlocked iPhone.

I've read all the forums I can about this, but can't seem to find the answer.
I want to sync my notes between my Iphone 3GS and my Macbook Pro. Right now when I add a note in my Iphone it automatically is added in my mail account in the Macbook.
However, if I add a note in the Macbook, it does not get added to my Iphone.
I'd like it to go both ways. Is this possible?

I always carry around my iPhone and add things to my calender as they come up during the day. When I get home, I sync the iphone and my home computer (macbook pro). The sync doesn't send the info from my phone to the computer. Only data sent is from computer to iPhone. Am I doing something wrong? PLEASE HELP...

I'm trying to do a restore on a my IPhone 3Gs and I get and error code 1. The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknowen error occured (-1).
Here is my situation. I sold this phone on eBay the person tried to jail break it then stated the phone was broke and returned it for a refund. I lost my money and my phone! How can I fix my phone?

When I use find file http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30073/find-file (which does tend to find files that "Finder" can't), it's not coming up with any other itunes library files that have been modified in the past week, which I know it would have been - unfortunately, I don't have a very recent backup of the hard drive. It would be a few months old so it wouldn't have the complete library on it....any ideas? I'm wondering if restarting the computer might help but have been afraid to do so in case it would make it harder to recover anything...I was looking at this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4211589?start=0&tstart=0 in the hopes that it might have a helpful suggestion but it's definitely a different scenario.

Hello, I have an Iphone 3GS and can't connect to Game Center. It recognizes my apple ID account, states it was never used with Game Center. Then asks for country, birthdate, then returns to ask country again, then birthdate, and returns to the loop. Never ends the loop unless I cancel the setup process. I have restored the iphone to the factory settings and restored the backup, but did not work. Any suggestions on what can be the problem? thank you.
I just read another post that says you can go into a game that allows for multiple players and utalizes game center and enter your account information that way. I haven't tried it yet, but it seems to work for others that had this issue.
