Hi.
I bought an Iphone 4s frome somebody (not stolen) i have the original receipt
i connected the phone to itunes to restore it
and now it asks me to activate it with the person's id account
and he doesnt remember it, and his email is not valid anymore
how can i activate it
we went to his cellular provider where he bought it and they don't support this kind of service
they told me i have to contact apple but we don't have apple support in israel
Your friend should be able to just log in to their www.icloud.com account in a web browser, and then in the find my iphone app there, remove that particular device from their list of devices. That will disable activation lock on that phone.
If they cannot remember their iCloud's AppleID & Password, then they will need to contact Apple to recover it - see http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2611

As has been pointed out, if there was a "previous owner", the phone is not "new". Thephone you purchased is most likely stolen. If whoever you bought it from won't give you your money back, turn it over to the police. -

You must remember or recover your ID and password, no-one here or at Apple can help you with that.

Not a good sign. Try forcing the phone into recovery mode & restoring it. If this fails, make an appointment at an Apple store:

Take it back to whomever you purchased it from and ask for a refund. There is no way to get past the "Activation Lock".

No I cant do that as soon as I disconnect the usb plug it goes blank and when I connect it to my pc it doesn't light up so I assume it wont take a charge from my pc. When its charging from the plug and lights up it wont let me do anything it just says connect to ITunes and configure in all languages so at least its teaching me new languages lol :-]
