I bought an iphone secondhand first generation that now has dead pixels and I'm not sure of the cause. Impossible for me to get it replaced/fixed by Apple? It's obviously more than a year old and there's no added warrantee...
To the best of my recollection, the first-generation iPhone, if that is truly what you have, was never released in Australia, so no, you probably cannot get any service from Apple for that iPhone. You may wish to confirm what model of iPhone you really do have using this information:

before you proceed further. Your options will depend on what model of iPhone you really do have, and where that iPhone was originally sold (service is available from Apple only in the country in which the iPhone was originally sold).

I will try with ethernet but will be a pain in the butt if i can not fix it with wifi for long term fix
I may end up trying to do a named IP address vs DHCP for this appleTV (not sure if i can do both and do not want to remove DHCP as i have a bunch of sensors and other devices that I prefer to dynamically add to the network via DHCP vs. assign each one
Will keep working on other fix options (factory reset, etc.)

The warranty is only good in the U.S.
You woulod have to send it to someone in the U.S. They could take it in and if it is defective, then it would be replaced. -
i bought my iphone secondhand, and the previous owner didnt deltete his find my iphone account, so when i restored it i know cant access my phone, i need help as i have no way of getting intouch with the previous owner whatsoever :/ help!

Unfortunately, you cannot do very much with your phone unless you get assistance from the previous owner, they should either provide you with the password to unlock it or remove their account from the phone entirely remotely through iCloud.com > Find My Phone. -
Aloha! I bought an iPhone 5 sprint via ebay, it has an iCloud id that was used to previous user. I don't have any contact with the previous user. I want to delete that email or id account that is now existing in my cell phone.
Again, you wasted your money. You can ignore raymond73's post, as you won't be able to turn off Find My Phone or delete the iCloud account associated with this phone, without knowing that info.

I purchased an iphone 4 from Dubai around a year ago. FaceTime -as some of you know - is blocked there .
Since I live in Muscat- Oman, FaceTime is not blocked .
The thing is that FaceTime won't work ! Is there any settings related to the IP address and the DNS that can be changed to activate FaceTime here in Oman?
A general form of the question is : if I bought an iphone from a country that blocks FaceTime , how can it be activated in others that allows it ?Are you absloutly sure?
I need to make sure whether to complelty lose hope or not
The irony is that Skype is blocked in Oman ..

Only the carrier to which the phone is locked can authorize an unlock. None of the Japanese carriers will do that. Sell the phone and buy one that works in Brazil. -

I can not confirm this kind of experience.
Even here in Germany, where articles are sold after the U.S. market is supplied, I had no problem buying a Lightning cable yesterday.
There were about 20 to 30 cables available in the customer area alone, not to mention what they perhaps had in their storage.
So why not make a short trip to Munich, Bavaria, visit the Octoberfest and buy a Lightning cable.
What makes me much more angry is that I was told there is no dock planed for the iPhone 5. -
i have bought my iphone 5 from UK and now residing in USA. Although my carrier (Ultra Mobile) provides 4G service i only get 3G speed. Also icon "3G" appears on top part of my screen. My model is MD297B/A. Pls suggest to enable 4G on my phone
It is more than likely the inability of the UK phone to support the US phone bands. You will probably be stuck with 3G and will never be able to get LTE. Also, your warranty is only good in the UK. You might be better of to try and sell that device to someone in the UK and purchase a phone in the US that you can get full service with.

Your 1 year warranty starts the date of purchase of the original device. If the device is replaced that original warranty stays the same on the new device. Each replacement does come with a 90 day warranty. So if you're out of that original 1 year warranty... you will be covered for atleast 90 days on your replacement device.

Only the previous owner can help you. They either need to provide you with the ID and password to delete the existing account, or erase the device and remove it from their account as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4515. If they aren't willing to do that, return it and ask for your money back.

I have a first generation ipod touch. I use a wireless router to get my internet connection. It is frozen on opening up a website and will not release. Even when I power down and restart it goes back to the same failed connection. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Ray.

in on asset class i have created 2 assets by using of aso1 after that i acquired one asset for that i run the depreciation for first 5 periods, it has been showing depreciation for those period but if i am trying to run the depreciation for second asset it is not showing first 5 periods why it is not showing? Repeat run you can do only for the last depreciation period. For the asset which you are tryin to post depreciation from July to Jan, please check the asset value date which you have given while posting the transactions or in the asset master.
If the asset value date is in July, then deprecaition from July - Jan will get posted in the current month depreciation in total. You will not be able to post depreciation individually month wise using AFAB.

Solution to: AE CS4 Crashing when opening files or saving
My After Effects kept on crashing whenever I tried saving a file or open any file. It took me hours but I just simply reset my preferences. You can do this while After Effects is opening - just hold CTRL/ALT/SHIFT. I hope this helps somebody!
