I Bought "Aperture 2" and "Aperture 3" in BOX in the past...and now?

In the past I bought "Aperture 2" and subsequently "Aperture 3" in DVD in an Apple Store.
I recently Bought a MacBook Pro Retina.
To install Aperture I had to create a dmg from DVD and install it because in my Mac profile in AppStore it results that I didn't bought Aperture...
I would like (after all money spent in Aperture...) to upgrade to version 3.5 of Aperture, but for me is impossible although I have my original DVD and Serial Number!!
Apple are you saying me that should I buy AGAIN Aperture???
It is very irritating: from Apple Support I didn't receive no answers or, better, they said me "Sir, contact Print Product support" !! It' crazy...
Please help!
Thanks!

Hi Andrew,
the past year I bought a MacPro Retina (so whitout super drive) and I had to create a DMG of my Aperture 3 and install it in my new Retina because of a clean install of Mountain Lion.
The installation successfully executed and I also executed the subsequent Aperture upgrades without problems.
My problem emerged with the upgrade to Mavericks and the release of Aperture 3.5: I wasn't able to upgrade my Aperture from AppStore because AppStore didn't signal me any upgrade available.
By searching in this forum I found out that a solution could be to change the language system in my mac (I'm Italian) to English and retry to verify again the Software update via AppStore.
This solution worked for me: after the reboot required by the system language shift, the AppStore gave me the possibility to upgrade Aperture to 3.5.
I hope this helps and that my answer is clearer than the previous post.
