After installing iOS 6, my iPhone 4S locked and I can't unlock it.
This happened after attempting to updating to iOS 6.
It seems to be stuck in an instruction mode. Whatever I touch a female voice tells me what the function is. E.G. trying to enter my passcode it says "Two abc, Three def, four ghi, five jkl " (Not my real passcode obviously).
I can't connect to iTunes as I'm prompted for a passcode on the phone, which I can't do.Nope.
I have just managed to enter 2 digits of my passcode into the phone before the voiceover cut in.
After repeated tries I managed to enter all 4 digits and teh phone activated. I then hit the home button 3 times to turn voiceover off and am now trying to re-install iOS 6. Seems to be working at this stage. -

thanksOne of my favorite things about developing for iOS using Xcode is the Simulator. It runs any of the iOS devices simulated right on your Mac. If you don't have a hardware device to test your application on, the Xcode simulator will surely be your best friend.
So to answer your question less vaguely, yes. You can own the iPhone 5s and develop for the 6. There is no real release information of the iPhone 6 at the time anyways, so I would not let it play too large of a factor in your decision. -

is your phone showing the connect to itunes (if it is all you can do is restore your phone in itunes)
if it does not show that you have a chance to input the password but if you try to many times it will lock out out and tell you to connect to itunes. I dont think AT&T can help you restore your phone if you are locked out -

<Edited by Host>'Locked' can have two meanings. It can mean locked to a specific carrier (service provider); if you want to unlock it to use it with another carrier only the original carrier can unlock it.
More likely you are talking about the other meaning, where a phone is 'Activation Locked'. Is this a second-hand (used) phone? If it is, and the previous owner has set up Activation Lock, this will prevent you doing anything with the phone at all.
If this is the case, only the previous owner can unlock it, either by giving you his Apple ID and password, or by removing it from his list of devices - details here:

If you can't contact the previous owner to get him to do this you will be unable to use the phone. Only he can unlock it: Apple cannot do it for you.
On the other hand, if it is a new phone and you have managed to set up a passcode (though this is nothing to do with iCloud) please see this Apple Help page:

I don't claim that everything on ebay is fine, there are a lot of fakes and such a puchase is for experiensed ebay users ONLY.
But it can be unlocked and until they set it free, there will be thousants sold like mine. I wouldn't wait for some months to buy it from the well known phone resailer in Greece, who could give me no support at all, with a closed contract with a provider for I don't know how many years and pay double as much as it really costs. -

If the screen is not showing anyting when you press any of the buttons you may want to try these steps.

Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 15 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.

Apple can NOT help you. AT&T WILL NOT help you.
Leave your iPhone at home or in airplane mode while you're in India and buy yourself a cheap disposable phone to use while you're in India. I believe AT&T still has a program where they will put your account "on hold" while you are gone for a small fee. -

Then check the Photo Stream section of iPhoto:
This is to confirm that the photos are still in Photo Stream. If they are they will be imported into the library.
NOTE: not all photos in an iPhone will be in the Photo Stream. PS only keeps photos in it for 30 days.
If you have the missing photos in your library put them in an album. Connect your iPhone to the Mac and open iTunes. In iTunes you can select that album in the library and sync the photos to your iPhone to get them back on the iPhone.

I am contacting you because my iPhone won't activate. Recently I traveled to UK (London) and I bought myself an iPhone 4 from a pawnshop. They said that the phone was used with 02 carrier. I got home (Bulgaria) and tried to start the iPhone but the only thing that shows is:
"Only compatible SIM cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iPhone. Please insert the SIM card that came with your iPhone or visit a supported carrier's store to recieve a replacement SIM card".
I don't have that option and I really don't know what to do. I would be really happy if you could help me find a solution.
