I bought my iPhone 6 1 or 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately I dropped it yesterday and the screen broke. Do I get any help? Do I have any coverage?

Accidental damage are not part of the warranty. Did you purchase Apple Care Plus? That has a two device replacement policy with a deductible over the two years of the coverage. Otherwise they may be able to replace the screen for a price, or replace the phone for a higher price, as an out of warranty replacement, but still lower then that of a new device.

    That's where I would begin, too, with
    Repair Disk
    Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
    Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger) and launch Disk Utility.
    Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
    Select First Aid in the Main panel.
    (Check S.M.A.R.TStatus of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report if it saysanything but Verified)
    Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
    If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
    If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
    If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need touse autility like TechTool Pro,Drive Geniusor DiskWarrior
    First we need to determine if the issue you are experiencing with the computer is software or hardware based. Once we have gotten things sorted out there should be time enough to make you decision about keeping or returning it.

    Then the bottom of the support document states that if you do not have access to the device (which unfortunately because of the screen issue you do not) to contact Apple Care. That is what you need to do.

    Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

    I have a 30gb Video IPod. It fell out of my pocket onto concrete and the screen has gone white apart from a yellow/black splodge with blue patches all over the screen.     do you know of any where in san diego I can get a 20 GB 2004 4th generation ipod fixed? my son dropped his 2 wks after getting it,right before deployment (marine) now he's leaving again aaaaggghhhhhhh! and I need to fix it this weekend! the screen plasma's all funky ,and I think thats the major thing, but not sure. I also have cancer, low funds, so ANY help will be a blessing, I'm really at my wits end as to next step.

    I think there's some provision for a home visit if you have AppleCare. Don't know about the standard warranty. Maybe you can arrange to ship it? Give them a call on Tuesday. Bummer.

I was using it fine and one day it suddenly said no service so I called my service provider up and they said that my iPhone has been blacklisted.     A common scam in the UK is to order an iPhone using an available upgrade from a carrier, report it missing or stolen from the post, then re-sell it for cash and get a replacement from the carrier. The original will be blacklisted.
    Ask whoever gave it to you where they actually got it from. Sounds like they either got scammed or they themselves are trying to defraud their carrier.

  • I just downloaded mavericks the new os on my MacBook Pro two days ago. This morning everything was fine.i had the computer on for about 2hrs when I looked over and the screen was black. This usually happens after awhile. This time it won't come on at all.

    I just downloaded the new Mavericks everything was fine this morning then my screen went black as it usually does when I leave it for an hour or so. I usually push the on button once and it comes back this time it didn't. I hold the button down and it'll go off I hold the button down and I hear it make the start up sound but nothing comes on the screen it's totally black. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with downloading the new Mavericks does anybody have any ideas. Is there any way to reboot when you can't see what's on the screen. I believe it's coming on but I cannot put in my password because I cannot see where to type it in.

    This is really unfortunate. I'm sorry that nothing works. I was going to mention holding down the power button and doing a force shutdown but you already did that. You might need to take it into the Apple store. I don't know if booting into safe mode would help. You would have to turn off the machine again, hit the start button and hold down the shift key after you hear the tone, but normally you would let go of the shift key when you see the apple logo and spining wheel. Maybe by holding down the shift key after you here the tone will cause the screen to come back on? The other option is to start up from the 'install disk' if your machine came with one. You would insert the disk, then shut down the computer, and hold down the C key right after hitting the start button.

    That would depend if you have the potrait orientation lock - on.
    If you see a lock icon with an arrow around it on top of the home screen next to your battery then that means you have it enabled.
    to disable swipe up from the bottom of the phone (near home button) to access the control center, hit that icon.

    Take it to somebody to get it fixed. However, it may not be cost effective to get it fixed.

    After contacting Apple, I received a reply from their engineers:
    Copy QTMovieWin.dll from:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    to: C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
    And that did the trick.
