I bought Lightroom 5 as part of bundle with a printer on April 24. Am I eligible for a free upgrade to Lightroom 6?

According to this page, I should be eligible but before I bother submitting a request, does it apply to Lightroom CDs bundled with printers?
Do I qualify for a free upgrade?

from that page:
You have a qualifying product
These products don't qualify for complimentary upgrades:
Products purchased through the Mac App Store
Second-hand purchases, including software received through a transfer of license
Tutorial DVDs, trials, tryouts, betas, Not For Retail (NFR), and bundled OEM versions
The last one is the only one I can see that might be at issue.

I bought my Macbook Pro on 23rd July 2011 and was told that I was able to get the free upgrade to OS X Lion, and that it would automatically update when I register my Mac. I registered it when I first turned it all on, I then waited thinking that it might be in a system update package. This, however, never happened. Am I eligable for the free update, if so, how do I get it? I am currently running on the latest version of Snow Lepeord.

    You get it here:

Mtn Lion not due out until the Summer, so no, you will not get a free upgrade.

  • I bought LR 3 two days ago - do I qualify for a free upgrade?

I bought the full version of LR 3 for $150 two days ago. I would like to buy the upgrade to LR 4. Will I qualify for a free upgrade or will I have to fork out another $79.

There is usually some leeway for days overlapping. Contact Adobe sales.

  • Is it possible for a Web Part to interact with a list the user does not have permissions for?

Say I have a custom web part that queries a list or adds list items, etc. Does the user have to have the equivalent permissions on the list itself to use the web part? Would the SPSecurity.RunWithElevatedPrivileges Method be a way to get around this? Or is
    there a better way?
Basically I want certain users to have a more controlled access to a list. But if I try to access the page with the web part on an account without permissions for the list, I get an Access Denied response.

One way of elevating code is, as you already mentioned, using SPSecurity.RunWithElevatedPrivileges which will run SPSecurity.CodeToRunElevated with Full Control rights. From MSDN documentation of the method for SP 2013 (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.sharepoint.spsecurity.runwithelevatedprivileges.aspx)
you can see that this code runs under Application Pool identity:
        Type: Microsoft.SharePoint.SPSecurity.CodeToRunElevated
A delegate method that is to run with elevated rights. This method runs under the Application Pool identity, which has site collection administrator privileges on all site collections hosted by that application pool.
Another method, a bit more security fine-grained, can be used. The idea is to instantiate new SPSite object using overloaded constructor which takes Microsoft.SharePoint.SPUserToken as a parameter: http://msdn.microsoft.com/EN-US/library/ms469253(v=office.15).aspx.
Example can be seen here: http://www.sharepointdeveloperhq.com/2009/04/how-to-programmatically-impersonate-users-in-sharepoint/. Using this approach, you can run your code in the context of the user who doesn't necessarily have to be site collection admin.
This user can have only access to the list in question.

  • Bought a New Mac Book Pro last week, can I get a free upgrade to Lion?

To cut a long story short, I bought a new Mac Book Pro Last week, it is only 6 days old now, it was nearly 2 grand and comes with Snow Leopard, today on their website I saw Lion OS Advertised as 'coming soon to a mac near you' or something. I was just wondering, as I've just spent nearly 2 grand on a Mac Book last week, would I be eligible for a free upgrade to Lion when it comes out?
I think you should be as when I bought it i was never informed there was a new OS coming out soon, does anyone know the answer? Or how much it may be to upgrade? as after spending £1899 I don't want to have to pay £100+ to upgrade a month later or so.
    Kind Regards,
    Chris

Lion won't be out until middle of next year, so you are not entitled to any upgrade. But you may be entitled to the iLife '11 software if it isn't already installed. Check the Apple website for any Up to Date offer.
+No merchandiser is required to inform you of a new product not yet available. If you think they are then you are poorly informed.+

  • Deleted Appleworks that came bundled with computer.

When my system repeatedly crashed after I installed 10.4 i panicked and did something regretable. I deleted several files which included my AppleWorks application. It came bundled with the computer. I have reinstalled 10.4 and the subsequent upgrades but I'm missing AppleWorks. Is it possible to reinstall the original system software that contained AW without having to rebuild the whole thing?
IMac Flatscreen   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Hmmm. I just bought a brand new iMac which, of course, does not have Appleworks. My older iMac came bundled with it, but the system was OS 9 (good old Classic) with upgrades to several versions of OS X. I was able to upgrade through downloads on the old mac, so Appleworks is pretty current.
However, when I try to install from the bundled CD onto the Duo, I get this message:
You cannot open the application "Install -US/Canada" because it is not supported on this system.
(That install is in the bundled CD in the Appleworks folder.)
My question: Does Apple offer replacement CDs when you've upgraded to a new system?
I've been using Appleworks for years. I've been an Apple user since the good old one-eyed monsters.

  • I bought Photoshop Elements 12 last week, so are there any optinons to get a free upgrade to 13?

    Hello Forum,
as you've already read it in the topic, I bought a version of Photoshop Elements 12 last week, and yesterday I got the news that there is the newest version now available.
It there a way to get a free upgrade to 13 by complaisance?
    Kind regards,
    Matt

Yes it's likely you can have a free upgrade. Please follow the steps at: Do I qualify for a free upgrade? (a german version of this page: Erfülle ich die Anforderungen für ein kostenloses Upgrade?)

  • Free upgrade to Mtn Lion. Bought online.

Do I still qualify for a free upgrade if my Mac was bought online? I have clicked he link to request the upgrade but the page wants the store an town the Mac was bought in. Help please. :-)

if you've purchased it after June 11 from Apple or Apple Reseller then you qualify for ML.
if you're having problem with the free upgrade page, it's best to call Apple and have them direct you to the right path on how to get the free upgrade...
    good luck...

  • Will Lightroom 2 be bundled with any CS4 Creative Suites

I am about to purchase Lightroom 2 but now that the CS4 Creative Suites have been announced I'm wondering if it will be available as part of one of them. There is already a bundle with PS CS3 and LR2 so it would make sense for there to be another offer.
When CS4 suites come out I will be upgrading from CS3 Design Premium and obviously I won't be impressed if I purchase LR2 now and then find out I could have saved money geting it in a Suite.
On a similar topic why is the Australian cost of the digital download so much more than the US digital download and can I purchase from the US Adobe store?
    Thanks

Some do read these forums. They generally don't respond to the type of

  • I bought Lightroom 5 should I switch to Lightroom CC?

I bought Lightroom 5 should I switch to Lightroom CC?

    Hi Philly,
There is no such application named Lightroom CC . However, we have Lightroom 5 which is already a part of Creative Cloud.
So, in short, Lightroom 5 is available as perpetual product and as a part of Creative Cloud(as of now).
The advantage of having it with CC is that you get additional storage space and an availability to future releases of Lightroom.
This should answer most of your questions. http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/lightroom-creative-cloud-faq.html
    Hope that Helps.

I just bought a new iMac and am trying to install Lightroom. The system is asking for my original serial number which I don't have. The point is. If I have the upgrade registered with my Adobe account, shouldn't that be proof that an earlier version was on my computer??? I'm really stuck. Need some advice! Thanks

    Hi John,
Thanks for your response, but if you read my first mail, it's the original serial number that I don't have. I bought the original LR as download and have misplaced the serial number. Is there any way to find it???

I have Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom on my MacBook Pro laptop. I bought an iMac and I'd like to move my installations to the larger display desktop for editing purposes. How can I go about transferring them?

I have the same question. It seems that Adobe is almost impossible to contact (I ended up here at the forums to ask the same question).
I will never buy another Adobe product again if I can get another program to replace it. If this is customer service then it is NON EXISTENT!
I notice that your question has not been answered and why should you have to get the information from a forum? I know of no other company that makes you do this for simple product information.
NOT HAPPY with this version of arrogant customer service (nor am I happy about renting Photoshop products into the future - it is just a money grab in my opinion). I will be voting with my feet and going elsewhere in future.
