I bought my 15" macbook pro i7 just a year ago and my battery life runs out extremely quick..at fully charged it says I only have 2:27 of usage time. I didn't pay for that-what can I do about it? I do have Apple care. Thanks.
I bought my 15" macbook pro just a year ago and my battery life runs out extremely quickly. This started maybe a month or two ago. Its hard to tell. I only noticed the rapid change recently. Fully charged it says I have 2:27 (2 hours and 27 minutes) of usage time...with about 50% screen and keyboard brightness.
I've checked inside system preferences and its cycle count is 261 and full charging cap is 6316.
I have apple care...is this something i can/need to take up with apple. You'd think if you pay the price for these machines you should get mroe use out of them.
ONLY A YEAR I'VE HAD THIS!
My PC lasted 4 years before the battery showed signs this dramatic of wear.

do you have a mbp with dual video cards? running the system with the higher end card increases the heat and also drains batt power.
i have the 1st gen unibody (2008) with an original removable battery of 311 cycles and 4453 charge. under normal use ill be happy to get 1.5hrs. the mac battery counter thing says i have 3.3hrs though (whatever). compared to me, i think you use your battery more than i do, perhaps its the reason why it degraded so fast in a year?

Try to edit the size of the page using the sides of the page, or if you are desperate, force quit using command-Q. In full screen put your cursor on the top of the page, and the menu bar will appear. If it doesn't keep "pushing" it up until it does. Hope this helps!

I just bought a new Macbook Pro 15" with SSD 256 Gb and its almost a brand-new (the 4th time to use the device) a while ago i was trying to connect to my home wireless network it said that the connection is timed out so i clicked the airport sign on the top it said that your airport is not configured then I restarted the system but it didn't restarted it showed the grey screen with the apple logo and the spinning wheel for more than 10min so I tried the force shutdown by pressing the power button till it switched off I waited for 5min then pressed the power button to start or boot the system and again the grey screen with the apple logo and the spinning wheel, I waited for more than 20min nothing changed, any solution please?
Your help is really appreciated"Thanks a lot i followed the instructions for safe mode (i found out that i was pressing the C button after restarting) i did whats written there but the repair couldn't be performed so in addition i needed to re-formate the HD so i erased the volume and then repaired the disk--> quite disk utilities --> start the installation from the installation DVD.

After being connected to a charging source overnight try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

unless that message is erroneous, you'll need to upgrade your os to use whatever you dl'd.
with a cc subscription, you can use cs6, cc and cc 2014.

I bought adobe suite 4 student edition a few years ago and I am no longer a student and my laptop in which I have adobe suite has recently got a virus and I must uninstall the adobe suite in or to wipe the computer. If I uninstall the student edition and reinstall once the virus is removed from the computer will I have to go through the student product verification process or can I simply use the product key to reinstall the adobe suite?

Once and for all, what can I do about all these shadow files!
I edit my images in Photoshop, but that doesn't seem to stop IPhoto from creating many versions of the same image, thus taking up valuable space. Anyone know a workaround.

iPhoto by default saves your Original File, it create a tiny thumbnail for display and - if you modify the pic via iPhoto - it creates an edited version. iPhoto is adhering to the best practise for managing digital assets - the original is akin to your Negative in old film terms.
There is, bluntly, no way to stop this. It is hardwired into the application. If you don't want this feature then don't use iPhoto. There are several hacks that claim to remove unwanted versions, however they are not recommended as they risk corrupting your library.
If space is an issue you can run your Library from an external disk.
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library Folder as an entity from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
