I bought my iphone 4s off craigslist and it's originally a sprint phone. I had it unlocked for tmobile, now i have switched to sprint and I called the customer care line to get it activated but they said they received an error saying not on network

sprints customer care line didn't give me the exact error code but he simply stated that the error said it wasn't on their network. Is it even remotely possible to get my iphone 4s on their network? If it is something i can do myself all help is appreciated. I don't have my sim in but when the phone is turned on it says sprint by the wifi signal and sometimes it says "extended" please help!

The iPhone I bought has iOS 6.1.4 but it has a restrictions passcode lock on it. Since the iPhone is locked I can't erase All Content and Settings. The bad part is there is an Apple ID on it that can't be signed out of because of the restrictions. I'm scared if I put the iPhone 5 into DFU mode to restore the phone iTunes would put iOS 7 on it and lock the iPhone up using the previous owner's Apple ID.
Does anyone know if this would be the case if I used DFU mode to restore the iPhone 5? Would it brick the iPhone with the previous owner's Apple ID or wipe the iPhone clean since it's on iOS 6?

Well, I took the risk last night and restored the iPhone using DFU. The good news is that it worked! The person I bought the iPhone from had their iCloud setup in the iPhone and restoring it from iOS 6 to iOS 7 didn't enable the activation lock.
Thank goodness...
All I suggest is to be careful when buying iPhones off craigslist since activation lock now exists. I think if the iPhone had been on iOS 7 when i bought it, I would've been in some trouble. I would've had to hunt down the seller just to get their iCloud password.

Calling the customer service line

I have been calling comcast for the past 4 days and have been kept on hold for long times each time. Whats going on? At one point they took my name and number to call and they didnt. It just keeps saying thank you for calling someone will be with you shortly. I have equipments I don't know what to do with. Can someone help

I am running 3.6.13. My ISP is through a satellite system. Running 64bit Windows Vista OS.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

You won't be able to activate it even if you do jailbrake it. There's no way around activation lock without the assistance of the prior owner.

I purchase an iPhone 5 off Craigslist. It came without the box and without the sim. When I got home, I tried activating it but, it says the other persons number and is asking me to confirm the last four of there social security number and billing zip code. And this phone number doesnt matches the number from whom i bought the phone. I got it unlocked as i wanted to use it with oversea or with some other carrier. i am not a ATT customer. I tried using T mobile sim(cut to nano) and ATT nano sime card. Still its doesnt let me pass the activation stage.
Anyone know how to get around this? I spent 10days on the phone with Apple and ATT and they couldnt help me. I tried contacting the person I purchased it off of with no success of reaching them. Please help if you know how to solve this issue.

WJosten is right, you probably got scammed.
The seller will likely report your phone as "stolen" so he can get a new one, and then you'll look like a thief holding a phone that does not belong to you. Nobody will help you then, not Apple and not the carriers.

You have probably been sold a previously stolen iPhone. It is Activation Locked as described here:

Without the original owner's Apple ID and password being used to unlock it, the iPhone will remain forever useless to you.

IF you do find a backup that has your contacts; I'd /highly/ recommand turning off your wifi network after the restore is finished because if the issue is with your iCloud your contacts may merge back with her's.
With iCloud you DO NOT want to share the account; bad things happen Evil evil thigns...
But in all seriousness; if two devices have the same iCloud; iCloud is told to merge and sync infomation between hte two and can't tell that it doesn't belong to the same person

Ask them for a refund for a device which is not fit for purpose, if they refuse contact a solicitor or seek advice from other consumer organisations that may be available to you in your area.
