Expanding GarageBand for Mac (v10.0) content with an in-app purchase
Do you still have your old Mac?
How did you migrate from the old Mac to the new Mac? Did you transfer your old software and documents using Setup Assistant? Then your old GarageBand '11 version should have been migrated, and all your instruments.
if you did not migrate GarageBand '11, copy your old Instruments Library and Loop Library over from the old mac. Copy the following folders to a thumbsdrive and merge the missing dontents into the corresponding folders on your new mac: (from the system library - the top level library folder on your Macintosh HD):
/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/
/Library/Audio/Apple Loops/
And if you would like to continue to use GarageBand '11 for access to missing features, copy also /Applications/GarageBand over, but to a subfolder of Applications. I recommend, to install the old GarageBand as well. It can be used in parallel to GB 10.0, and will come in handy, if your old projects are having problems.

The JamPacks are nice to have, a terrific collection of instruments and loops, but if you did not have them previously, that will not help with your missing instruments. You can instll them by buying Mainstage 3. They work well with GarageBand 10.0

If this is a new machine, it'd be considered DOA (dead on arrival) - return it to the store; Apple stores have a 14 day return period. I'd ask for a replacement or a refund.

Well... yes... it can happen with all computers, but that's certainly not a resolution. Are you working directly with Apple or a different service provider? If something (Word) has not been working since day one... even after repairs, then they haven't fixed it (provided you told them about the problem).
Basically, as others have said... if you've been getting the service you've described directly from Apple, I would give them a call and express your concern. You're in good shape while your warranty is still effective. Get them to fix it to your satisfaction. If something isn't working as it should, don't be afraid to say something. -
I am new to mac, but i keep reading about Mountain lion. I just bought my Mac book Pro less then a month ago. my current software is OS X 10.8.2, Do i already have mountain lion? How do I check to see?
As the others have stated, you're on Mountain Lion with 10.8, anything. But you can check your version of the software by going to the apple in the upper left corner of the screen and clicking it and selecting "About This Mac". That will open a box that shows your software version. Once there you can click on "More Info" that will tell you everything about your specific mac configuration.

I`ve just bought a Mac Book pro 15", did the required updates and since two days ago it freezes. Now I can´t even start the computer. the screen is allways white. how can I solve this issue??
The same thing happened to me... Since two days the ******* thing keeps freezing after a while. Then I try to reboot and the screen goes white and it doesn't boot. If I wait like half an hour it boots again.
I thought it was a hardware problem, but the Apple Hardware Test founds nothing at all. I think it has to do with the software update I performed 2 days ago.

Click on the in the top left corner, then About This Mac. The version number will be listed right under OS X.
If it is something like 10.8.3 or 10.8.4 (anything starting with 10.8.x), you can click Software Update to download 10.8.5 for free. -
How can I connect my Mac Book Pro (year 2008) to the TV set through HDMI? I've seen a DVI to HDMI iwire but I'm no sure that it is correct. Could anyone help me? Thank you very much.
I do not know the iWire adapter, but I use an inexpensive ($3) DVI to HDMI adapter from Monoprice, along with a regular HDMI cable:

Be aware that this will only transfer video. You Macbook Pro cannot combine audio through DVI to HDMI. You will need to listen to the audio through the Mac speakers, or attach speakers or a sound system to the Mac earphone jack, or determine if your TV has the ability to accept external sound from the Mac while showing video through HDMI (few can). -

I bought a Mac Book Pro retina display, Serial Number C02J*****2, on 8/11/2012. Unfortunately, I am unable to download updates from the App store.Whenever I tried to download updates, it shows me an error message, "we could not complete your request. there is an error in the App Store. Try again later (100). Your Apple ID has been disabled, contact iTune support". However,the problem still persists even after my password has been successfully reset. What is is the error in the app store? I really need help to resolve this issue.
Moreover,I also need help how to update to the mountain lion free of charge as my Mac pro is four(4) days old.

I just bought a Mac Book Pro and the Appstore show one upgrade of iPhoto (9.2.1). I started a section with my Apple ID (the account that I have I use to iTunes) but when I try to update it says that there are upgrades available for other accounts and that I have to upgrade using the account that I used to buy iPhoto. I bought 2 mac book pros. At home i already had a network with a timecapsule connected to a router and a windows xp lap top connected to it. When i turned both macs on i was able to see the time capsule and the windows xp computer HOWEVER neither mac could see each other......any help would be appreciated.
NickThanks Linc ......you were right on the money. Your help has been awsome. I spent 3 hours last night doing stuff with out any solutions. May I ask you another question if you have the time and patience please. My orriginal setup was 2 windows laptops with XP on them connected with a timecapsule attached to a router. Hence the time capsule made a wireless signal aswell as being an external hard drive. On one of the laptops i have a printer attached to it which was shared so that the other computer could print documents through the network however the computer attached to the printer has to be on. Do you know what i have to do so these new 2 mac book pros can print to that printer? Thanks again for all your previous help. Nick

hi . i bought a mac book pro from the US . it came witht the older os . offcourse assuming that this would have been packed in china before the launch of os lion . would i have to buy the os lion or is there any way of getting an upgrade without paying for it
