Log into the iCloud on your MacBook Pro and enable Photo Stream:
Then launch iPhoto and set iPhoto's Photo Stream preferences to the following:
Then check the Photo Stream section of iPhoto:
This is to confirm that the photos are still in Photo Stream. If they are they will be imported into the library.
NOTE: not all photos in an iPhone will be in the Photo Stream. PS only keeps photos in it for 30 days.
If you have the missing photos in your library put them in an album. Connect your iPhone to the Mac and open iTunes. In iTunes you can select that album in the library and sync the photos to your iPhone to get them back on the iPhone.

The new machine has Mavericks which is fine. And I will leave it as is. I don’t want anything from my old machine other than 2 apps that I will need on the new one. I want to be able to install those apps that I bought from the App Store onto my new computer. I assume Apple doesn’t want me to have the apps installed on 2 machines at the same time so I wonder if just uninstalling them from my old machine will release them for re-install on the new one. -

iPads are not pre-activated by the store unless you ask them to do so - but I think that they will only activate the iPad itself, I don't think that they will activate 3G on it for you. It will come with an AT&T micro-sim (which I think is already installed in the iPad but I'm not sure), but it is left to the customer to activate any 3G service that they want.
A number of people buy the 3G iPad without ever activating 3G on it - they just want the built-in GPS functionality which the wifi-only model doesn't have (only the 3G version has a built-in GPS chip). -

Can you transfer your iTunes libraray to a different computer? As in, I have about 2,000 songs on my itunes, and I'm about to move and I have to get a new computer because this one isn't mine. Is it a problem to move all those songs onto a different computer? Am I going to have to redo all of that importing?
There are a number of things you could do. One would be to network the to computers and transfer your iTunes folder from one to another. You can also use an iPod if you have one as a portable hard drive and move the folder with it though that would be considerably slower than computer to computer. We have Comcast internet at my apartment. We have a wireless router. My room mates PC works on the wireless. My Mac book pro does not. However, My Mac book Pro DOES work anywhere else I take it. I have went thru the exact same problems trying to upgrade the wireless card in my DV7. It is very frustrating that the wireless card can't be upgrade to one that supports 5Ghz. I see in your sig that it says that you're still using Mac OS X v10.5.1. Really? Because that would be a problem. After Effects CS6 requires v10.6.8 or higher of Mac OS X. -
