I bought my MacBook pro in May 2012. for whatever reason the screensaver will not turn on. Took it in to genius bar. They said the software had to be deleted and reloaded. Which they did around 3 weeks ago. Everything was working fine. Now anymore again
Is anyone else having problems with their screen saver not turning on? My was working when I first bought the lap top. Then it stopped activating, I could get it to come on from a hot corner, or if I powered off the lap top and the next time I would boot on it would work for a few days but then it would stop. Made an appointment with the Genius bar and they suggested to wipe clean the HD and re-install the software Mountain Lion. Which was done. It worked fine for a few weeks, now it has stopped again, and I can not even get it to stay on by activating it from the Hot Corners.
Anyone else having the same problem? And if so what have you done to try and correct it? Apple ran a check on my MacBook and they said there is nothing mechanically wrong with the MacBook that it is the software?????

dv7-6b02tx Pavilion notebook using Windows 7 x 64 - no microphone or webcam (purchased 07/12)
After the latest bios update, I found I had no audio, microphone & webcam. I tried to restore back to when I knew everything had worked properly but this did not rectify the situation. I uninstalled the driver for the audio, restarted computer & it installed reinstalled the device & I now have playback audio.
I have updated all the drivers available for my laptop from hp site. In the sound -> recording devices -> it lists 'external microphone' (ready), 'integrated microphone array' & 'stereo mix' (currently unavailable). The integrated microphone array is marked as default but no bars go green at all when trying to test this. I have used the sound recorder found in accessories, but it does not record anything. Skype test call does not pick up microphone or webcam. I have checked for updates on device but it is up to date. Troubleshooting does not pick up any errors. I have listed within the recording devices, disabled & disconnected devices & checked that everything is enabled.
With the built in webcam - it is not listed under the device manager under imaging or other devices, etc. I have updated the Cyberlink YouCam software as per hp website. When I start this program, I receive the error: "No webcam detected. Try plugging in a webcam into your computer now. If you are using an integrated camera, make sure that it is turned on. OK"I lost my webcam randomly yesterday, seemingly after a Windows update. I went on a hunch and disassembeled the casing around the screen to find that the connection to my webcam and mic came loose. If you think yourself able (I could understand not wanting to break the casing; I almost stopped halfway through for fear of breaking everything ever), a friend and I have both had this problem now with our dv-7's, so it's worth a look. Forgot to mention: I tried everything else. I updated all of my drivers, even the ones that didn't need to be, and decided against updating the BIOS because that's never solved any of my issues. -
About 30 minutes ago, I was adding some music to the ipod Nano. Everything was working fine. Now, the ipod will not turn on at all. When I connect it to the laptop with the USB, the computer does not even recognize it. The screen has a fant image of the plug on it and it says connected. I followed the procedures for disconnecting it when I was finished with it earlier. Any idea what is going on here???

I just. Bought an iPad air 2 about two weeks ago. Was working great then it froze on me shut off and won't turn on now?
A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
No content is affected by this procedure. -

We regularly use Cocktail by Maintain software. You run the whole gamut of options but the important one is in System - Databases - Rebuild launch services. Also in Files - Caches - then clear the lot.

I have a late 2008 Macbook Pro, I am trying to run MW3 but it will not work without crashing a few minuets into the game. The general specs on my computer are a dual processor 2.53 ghz. 4 gb ram and a NVIDIA geforce 9400 (9600 is the alternate card).
Things to note:
I have been unable to update firmware on this computer for about a year now. Im not sure why.
I am running a bootleg copy of Windows XP on this computer, I would not like to spend $149 to get Windows 7 if possible.

Then, when you get an estimate about how much it would cost to get the machine completely repaired, ask about the Apple flat-rate repair pricing?
It's worth a shot - and with what you may save, you can put in the bank for a new MBP.

I have a MacBook Pro. My mac can detect wifi. But will not connect anywhere. I did get connected via TCP/IP settings but I can't connect to any wifi anywhere. Network diagnostic has a green light for wi-fi and wi-fi settings. Red light for the rest. (Network settings, ISP, Internet and server.)

My Macbook pro no longer outputs to my vizio led tv. It was working fine now I cant get any picture. It just says no signal. It is not the hdmi or the adapter because it works fine with my other tv. Any ideas on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated. Please be as specific as possible. Thanks. BTW--I am using the mini dvi to hdmi adapter in case that was unclear.
Since you say that the same connectors work on your other TV is suggests that the fault is not in the connectors but your Vizio TV. I would check the settings on the Vizio TV. Verify that is is set to receive HDMI input. Perhaps you or some one else has inadvertently changed them. Pressing the wrong buttons on a remote control device can do that. (I am assuming no changes were made in SYSTEM PREFERENCES>DISPLAYS)

I recently moved all my photos from iphoto to Aperture. I had several iphoto books and cards in my project file. When everything was moved to Aperture I can't find any of the books or card projects. Are they gone or can they be restored?
1 - without specifics I have no idea how to help
2 - the question was "are you trying to use them in iPhoto? " - it sounds like you are - to do so you will have to export them from Aperature and import into iPhoto
3 - for information on how to use them in Aperature then you need to ask about how to use Aperature in the Aperature forum as it does not involve iPhoto

Since updating my macbook pro to IO X Mavericks, my iCloud email account will not hold its password. Apple support cannot provide a resolution. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Have you tried - in Mail go to the menu Mail > Preferences.
When the Preferences Pane opens, click on the Accounts Tab.
Click on your iCloud Account to select it.
Click on the Advanced tab.
Set Authentication to Apple Token.
Close the Preference Pane.

Installed Windows 8 on a late 2011 MacBook Air and was working fine now keyboard not working so cannot enter password? Caplocks key works but I am locked out on my own PC and cannot seem to get it to recognize built in keyboard,bluetooth,generic USB one.
Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps. -

I just got familiar with my address book on my YouTube channel. I was adding contacts and everything was working fine then out of nowhere I got a Stop Script pop up notice. I am using Firefox. Now when I go to my address book on YouTube it freezes and I often have to use CTL + ALT + DLT to stop it and start over.
Is this a Firefox or YouTube problem? I tried looking at this page on IE and the same thing happens.You are telling us by yourself that is a Youtube problem, because it happens also on IE.
Anyway that may be an issue with your e-mail account. Maybe you have too many e-mails and YouTube gets so busy trying to add all of them. If you hadn't added them already, you could export that directions to CSV and divide the CSV in parts so YouTube wouldn't have so much work. How many directions you wanted to add? -
I have apple iPhone 4S upgraded to iOS 6.0.1 and everything was working fine suddenly my Wifi was not connecting and found the wifi on/off button is greyed out and to enable it I tried all resets but still my problem have not solved, still wifi is off
Same here.... No fix. Replacing is the option apparently and if you're out of warranty, you're SOL. That was as per the "Genius" at Apple.

I5 still using ios6 as of last night the phone will not connect to my Internet, in settings it says connected with the check mark however there is no wifi icon at the top of phone, have done everything possible to resolve...
