Apple states that (of the MBP lines) it has to be from Mid/Late 2007 or later.  yours seems to be right on the line.
Apple says
If you are running Lion, you can find out if your current Mac qualifies by clicking the Apple icon at the top left of your screen, choosing About This Mac, then clicking More Info.
you must also have the latest version of Snow Leapord or Lion

  • How do I find out which programs of mine will not work with Mountain Lion?

I recently upgraded to Lion and found that all of my Power PC based applications wouldn't work (much to my surprise, as no one at Apple told me this when I inquired about the upgrade, nor is it listed in the App Store). Had to get a whole new Microsoft Word suite - after the fact.
Now, I just got an email from Intuit saying that if I upgrade to Mountain Lion I will probably have to upgrade to the latest and greatest version of Quickbooks (unless I create a partition, which is waaay too complicated for me). How do I find out what ELSE won't work if I upgrade to Mountain Lion?
    Mac OS X (10.5.8)

    Here's a compatibility guide by a 3rd party.  I can't attest to the accuracy.

  • Quicken 2007 does not work with mountain lion

You have to buy the Mountain Lion version, and you can download it online, from Intuit.

  • HT3258 The scanner on my Canon inkjet printer MG6200 series will not work with Mountain Lion. How can I fix this?

The MP Navigator software in my scanner cannot be opened since I installed Mountain Lion. Canon say they don't have a way of fixing this, so is there a solution out there I wonder?

I have the MG6250 and MP Navigator v5.0.2 is working on my 10.8.2 Mac, so I don't know why the Canon support is telling you that it cannot be fixed.
To use MP Navigator you must have the full scanner driver installed. And when it is installed you then need to configure MP Navigator to use the networked MG62xx.
Also ensure you are using the latest version of MP Navigator. Try trashing the one you currently have in Applications > Canon Utilities and then installing this latest version.

  • I want to buy a hard case for my macbook pro, but I don't know what year it is. When I use the serial number to try and find out, all it says is, "~VIN,MacBook Pro (15-inch Glossy)". When I type that into amazon for a case it gives me nothing!

if i bought an iphone from New York, will it work with a moroccan network?

If it is locked, yes you will have to unlock it to use with a Moroccan
wireless network. Only the wireless provider to which an iPhone
    is locked can unlock it.
If you can get that far, what does it say when you look at Settings+>

  • I have an imac with intel core duo processor.  Will I be able to upgrade to the new Lion system that icloud is associated with?

I have an Imac with the Intel Core Duo Processor.  Will I be able to upgrade to the new OSX Lion?

You need a Core 2 Duo or later to use Lion.  You will need to install Snow Leopard in order to access the Mac App Store to download Lion when it becomes available.

    1. The scrolling, as far as I've been able to determine, is by using the slide bar to the right of most diplays. There are no up or down arrows that allow slow movement
    2. The top and botton toolbars are not visible. The top one appears when you point the arrow to the top of the screen but the same doesn't work well if at all pointing the cursor to the bottom.
    3. When downloading, something jumps to the upper right of the screen. I could point and click it and get a diplay if my downloads. I was attempting to fix some of the above. Now the little thing jumps off the screen and I can't get to it.
4I was trying to installMacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 2.3. I got message it couldn't be installed on my system.
    5. The red yellow and blue bullets that allow shutting down, minimizing and maximizing are missing on most open windows.
Can you do something about these problems
It's problematical that one can't communicate directly with Apple to resolve these problems

1: I'm scrolling this page right now using the arrow keys.
2: Press the escape (esc) key to exit full-screen mode. Select Apple menu > Dock > Turn Hiding Off.
    3: ???
4: That's because you downloaded an update for another model.
    5: See 2.

  • I have a mac book pro, 2006 with an 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo processor, can I update to Lion? to use icloud.

Apple keep telling me I need to update to icloud but I'm not sure if Lion will work on my Mac. I've upgraded to snow leopard which seems to have knackered my .me or .mac account (whatever it's called now), so I don't seem to have any option but to upgrade to Lion if I every want to see my emails again.
Apple say I must have a Intel Core 2 processor for Lion to work...... at least I think that's what they say.
I have a mac book pro, 2006 with an 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo processor, can I update to Lion?

    Lion System Requirements
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
If you have a Core Duo model then you cannot upgrade to Lion. You can upgrade to Snow Leopard, but iCloud is not available for Snow Leopard.
Open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. Look for the Model ID in the displayed information. If you have a MacBookPro 2,1 or later then you have a Core 2 Duo model and can upgrade to Lion.

Until I installed the SMC FanControl application my screen would "break up" into strange patterns and then would eventually freeze.  Please help.

If you are trying to upgrade using a gray-faced OS X disk from another system, that won't work, as those disks are locked to the system types they are delivered with. You'll need to drop the $29 on a retail copy of Snow Leopard, which is available from the Apple online store. Note Snow Leopard requires 1GB minimum, and you may want at least 2GB for better performance.

  • Can I download InDesign on my Mac OS 10.6.8 & 2.4 GHz Intel Core duo processor?

Can I download InDesign on my Mac OS 10.6.8 & 2.4 GHz Intel Core duo processor?

    From the Creative Cloud FAQ:
To take advantage of all the great features in the new Creative Cloud desktop apps, customers should upgrade to a newer version of Mac OS X. Some of the new CC apps do not support v10.6 and will not install. Minimum system requirements for each Creative Cloud app can be found on the tech specs page on Adobe.com.

    good luck

  • Can I upgrade to lion when i have a 2 GHz Intel core duo processor ( my computer is 6 years Old)  I have snow leopard now.

Can I Upgrade my computer to Lion.  I have a 2 GHz Intel Core Duo Processor.  My computer is 6 years old.  Right now I have Snow Leopard.

I have an old iMac about that age that I upgraded to Lion to test my 3rd party applications for compatibility. It upgraded quite simply. Please backup or save all your info/etc to an external CD/DVD/Hard drive, then try to run the installer. The Lion installer will analize your Mac for compatibility before it does anything, and will alert you to it's decisision. My 17" iMac is also 2 GHZ Intel core duo. Surprisingly for many of the things I use it for it works as good as my multi thousand dollar MacPro workstation. Best of luck. But Lion isn't compatible with many third party applications and drivers for printers; scanners; etc.

  • Anyone know if "Clickbook" will be compatible with Mountain Lion?

Just need to know if Clickbook will work with mountain lion?
    Thanks

Unfortunately, I just found out that my clickbook has stopped working with my mountain lion.  Previously worked well.  Now it just prints blank pages.  However, a workaround is to print a previous in clickbook (which for some reason works) then print the pdf the preview creates.  If anyone hears of a fix I would be glad to know.  Blue Squirrel's online process says that my clickbook version. 4.08 should work with mountain liion.  This may mean that it is a problem only with my configuration not anyone elses.  Input anyone?
