Adobe updates: I've gotten error messages when trying to download pdfs (very annoying). Read somewhere that mac os has problems with the adobe extensions, thus, causing error messages from adobe. I ignore the updates. Should I?

I have stopped updating adobe software b/c I read that the adobe update software inserts extensions into the mac software system, causing annoying/time consuming error messages when downloading new pdfs. I get adobe update notices 2-3x/week. What do you recommend? I use an iMac OS 10.94.

If I understand correctly, you've converted a file and now want to download it and remove it from your Acrobat.com account. Is that correct? What happens when you try to download it from https://cloud.acrobat.com/files? Do you get an error?
Once you've downloaded it, you can delete it from your account by selecting it and clicking the trash can icon.

That is my problem when I click the link to access my download there is no download available on my account. I purchased Adobe exportPDF 6 days ago but never got an e-mail to confirm that my payment had gone through and that it was available to download although the payment has been deducted from my visa card. I went through the FAQ and was directed to my account which showed that the payment was confirmed and export PDF was available to download. I followed the link to my downloads but it says I have no downloads. So the transaction is showing in my subscriptions but not in my downloads section. My order number is AD005040367IE.

To use the ExportPDF service, simply visit http://exportpdf.acrobat.com and click 'Sign in' at the top right corner. Enter your Adobe ID (email address) credentials to log into the service. As ExportPDF is web-based, you simply utilize the tool through your web browser. After you're logged in, you should see the ExportPDF interface, with a button saying 'Select PDF file..' to get the process started.
You may also access ExportPDF via Adobe Reader by choosing File > Save as Word or Excel Online.

Thank you for responding. Nothing actually worked! After reading the posts online, I called Apple. They indicated they have seen problems with some software after their upgrades. The technician was able to fix the problem on my computer remotely, but I have no clue what he did! But, it was definitely related to their recent upgrade to my computer.

I had done all of that to no avail. I did call Apple Tech Support and after he suggested I try a USB port in the rear of the Win 7 computer, things starting working again. If I were you I would first make sure CS6 was deactivated or signed-out. Then download Adobe's cleaner and remove cc, CS6 and any other creative application installed including Creative Cloud desktop application. Then install CS6 and use your CS6 serial number during the install to activate CS6 standard or extended which ever the serial number is for. CS6 Version 13.0 should the be activated. That level of CS6 is extremely bug ridden so be sure to the use CS6 menu Help>Updates to get CS6 updates. Windows should update to version 13.0.1.3 Mac to version 13.0.6. Not Subscription CS6 version 13.1.2...

It just didn't occur to me to do so.
My intent was to report that there was at least one other user encountering a similar problem. It occurred to me that Adobe might be interested in determining the scale of a problem which causes one of their best known products to fail to run quite so completely after a clean install
I also see that I misreported the OS I'm running - its Windows 8.
If there is further information I can provide which might be helpful in determining a solution, if someone could be specific about what would be helpful, then I will try to respond appropriately.

The X230 has Intel HD 4000 graphics support built in to the processor. Windows was pretty stubborn about refusing driver updates, but I just managed to get drivers from the Intel site to install and Photoshop is now running, so hopefully I need not try your patience any further.
In case anyone else has a similar problem and stumbles on this the way to install the driver that worked was to:
- download the zip version of the generic driver from Intel
- use the 'have disk' option in the windows dialog to install the driver - other paths in the UI did not work with windows refusing to install the driver.

Please utilize any available uninstallers that are located in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder. Once all of the available uninstallers have been run you will then want to rerun the CC Cleaner Tool. The CC Cleaner Tool is designed to be used after running the uninstallers. Without running the uninstallers first then a complete removal may not be possible.

That will take you to 10.6.3.
If required you can then use the combo updater to get to the latest version, 10.6.8 (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399)
