I bought the new nano - very impressed

I went to the Apple Store in Rancho Cucamonga, CA today and bought a silver 8GB nano. I wanted to see and handle them before I bought (rather than just buying from the online store like I usually do). As others have mentioned on other forums, the photos and images don't do it justice. I was immediately struck by how wafer thin and small it is and how comfortably it fits in my hand. I had my heart set on a red or black one but the hues are lighter and more matte than in the past. So I went with silver, which I thought looked best.
Videos look incredible on the screen. Generally I am not a big iPod video watcher. But this nano makes me want to buy some tv shows to watch on it. I only wish they had some cases but will wait for the Griffin Elan nano or Incipio cases.

I decided to order the ipod touch since i want to watch tv shows i download using Eyetv. Also like watching video podcasts. These next couple of weeks are going to be tough waiting for it to arrive

What is the exact error message you are receiving?
As to re-installing iTunes, it will have no affect on the content you actually have stored in iTunes such as your music. After you finish re-installing iTunes, everything should be right where you left it in your iTunes library.

The songs on your Shuffle should still be in your iTunes library. That means you should just be able to connect your Nano to the same iTunes library and sync it just as you would with your Shuffle. There is no limit to the number of iPods, iPads, or iPhones you can sync to one computer, iTunes library, or account.
As for preparing the Shuffle for your husband, just restore it via iTunes and then let him sync it to his own iTunes library or if its the same iTunes library, let him configure it to sync only his content.

Click here, check that your computer meets the requirements, buy and install the DVD, and then run Software Update.

Does the new nano support gapless playback?

I listen to A LOT of trance/progressive stuff (Above & Beyond, Armin van Buuren, Paul Oakenfold, John O'Callaghan etc). Usually these albums are mixed, requiring gapless playback. Does the new nano support this?? VERY important to me that it does, otherwise would have to skip buying one and stick to my iPod 5G & iPod touch. I do like the new wearable design though...

Gapless playback and crossfade playback are 2 different things - buy a mix album and try playing it using crossfade playback - I'll let you figure out the difference (yes, really!).

I recently purchased the new nano (7th generation) and I love it except for one issue. On my old 2nd generation nano, when I played podcasts, it would play podcasts one at a time. So if I had 20 episodes of a podcast on the device, it would stop at the end of each one.
With the new nano, I can select and play a podcast, but when it’s over, it goes straight to the next one without prompting. It keeps on playing all of the episodes of any podcast until you stop it manually. Setting the repeat function differently does not prevent episodes from being played automatically.
This can be very irritating when I only want to listen to one podcast. I’ve often fallen asleep listening to one episode of a podcast, only to be woken up hours later by the iPod working its way through all subsequent episodes. It is also annoying that any podcast which has started automatically in this way is marked as ‘played’ – even if you stop it within a few seconds. This makes it hard to keep track of what you have actually listened to.
Is there any way to set the iPod to play all the podcasts individually? I have read the User Guide from cover to cover, and can’t find a way of doing this.

Yes, I have had some unfortunate bad luck to have so many problems at the same time, but some of them are just things you cannot do on the new OS.

You would need to talk to the Apple Store from which you purchased the iPad. Apple's official return policy is 14 days, though it's been reported that the manager of some Apple Stores have been waiving that limit.
I doubt very much that the Apple Store will have anyone who speaks Chinese, though of course you can ask.

Well, turbo.264 is indeed very nice to have - even for converting full-sized movies. All H.264 files (assuming they are H.264 level 4.1 or lower) are compatible with the built-in Videos app.

IIRC the very original Bose Dock had the old 30 pin wiring and was designed initially for the iPod
If you have that version then you will need a converter to the later wiring ( sans firewire) as in Scosche .
and then the 30 pin to lightning Apple adapter
In theory it should work but who knows.
If you have a later one which already works with current devices then just the lightning adapter
It is important to get the genuine Apple adapter I have several and all work fine in several scenarios
Avoid the eBay knock offs most only charge

Yes, at an Apple Store. I just solved my problem. I went to Vodafone and they told me it is normal to be without 3g for a while because it's a new nano card. They didn't guarantee that i'll have 4g and LTE but at least the 3g is working now.
