    Hello Kimberly j,
You can either set up a service request with Apple through this or you can bring it into your local Apple Store/AASP and have them set one up for you.

Another option would be a 3rd party repair company who would be able to fix the iPod at a much lower cost.

Can an ipod 4g touch screen, have the ios 7 software?

As Apple said in June, iOS 7 is not compatible with the 4G iPod.
All the iOS devices compatible (iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, and 5G iPod touch) with iOS 7 have at least 512 MB of memory (RAM). The 4G iPod only has 256 MB

  • My ipod 5 touch screen doesnt work and shows vertical lines?

So, I was getting ready to go to my competition and my ipod 5th generation fell out of my pocket. It fell on the screen and when I looked it apeared to have no external damage.. I turned it on and it had vertical black, white, and even some blue lines on the screen. The touch screen since has not worked. The ipod apears to be fully functional, the time is changing and it conects to itunes. However I can not use my ipod because the touch screen doesn't work. My cousin is a tech nerd and he says that I internally broke the touch screen.
As for fixing it, I've been told a screen replacement will fix the problem. I have also heard that apple with not fix my screen but they will send me a new ipod and that is not what I want. Does anyone know where I can send it in to get fixed and for how much? Or where I can buy a screen replacement kit and how much that would be? And most importantly do you think replacing the screen will fix my problem?

  • My iPod's touch screen has completely stop working; what do I do?

My iPod is older; I first got it not much after it came out (it's a second generation). So it's had a lot of wear and tear, with a small crack just under the home screen and more recently a larger one on the top left corner. But my iPod, near the end of it's life, began to freeze seemingly hourly and become slower (as expected; they only last so long). But one day, out of the blue, i was listening to music and went to unlock it to change the song; but the slider wouldn't... slide! So I restarted it, and when asked to put the passcode in, I couldn't because the touch screen was completely unresponsive. I've tried countless amounts of times- dead, while charging, fully charged- to restart it or power it off, but it won't respond! It isn't frozen though. And of course when I connected it to iTunes, it wouldn't work because I had to put my password into my iPod for it to connect :-/ Is my iPod (or more importantly some stuff on my notes that I really wish to have back) recoverable??

One the 4G iPod Touch came with a build-in mic.  You need to purchase one or find the combined mic/earphones that came with the iPod when it was originaly purchased.

  • Apps On Ipod Nano (touch screen)

Can you get apps on the ipod nano touch??? im thinking about buying one, but i want to be able to get apps

No the touchscreen iPod Nanos can not use apps. If you want a touchscreen ipod capable of apps your only option is the iPod Touch.

  • My ipod's touch screen broke, i was unable to input my pasword correctly and locked my ipod. I have a new laptop, and I don't want to restore my ipod and loose all my data. How can I unlock my ipod with out loosing my data?

I would apprectiate any tips, help comments, or ideas that will work as a solution for my problem.

    You cannot.
You will have to restore your ipod, losing the information on it.

  • How do I turn off the tiny Shuffle-sized iPod Nano (v6 with a touch screen) when not using its iOS?

    Hello and happy new year.
I decided to use this used iPod Nano (touch screen) as an eight/8 GB flash disk/storage (FAT32). I can access the files just fine. I can always restore it back to use iOS quickly and easily if needed.
However, it never seems to turn off/sleep. I tried holding down the big button on top right (next to the two volume controls [+ and -]), but it never does anything. Also, it says "OK to disconnect." when disconnected.
So, I restored its iOS v1.2 from an old 15" MacBook Pro (2008; Mac OS X 10.5.8) onto it and can turn off easily. However, I cannot access its drive since it is not a MS FS and Windows XP Pro. SP3 asked me to format. How can I turn it off and still use it as an 8 GB USB flash disk/drive without installing and using iTunes?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hey,
Holding in the play/pause and the menu (select) button will force the iPod into disk mode. This is the stand by mode you are talking about.
To turn your iPod off properly you will want to hold down the play/pause button until the screen goes blank and then turn the hold switch on. This is cause the iPod to go to the Apple screen when it turns back on.
    Hope this helps,
    Ms D.

  • My iPod touch screen will not work.

Ever since last night, my iPod's touch screen has been messed up. I didn't use it incorrectly or anything; I just used my iPod like I normally did for the past eight months. I have seen no problems until now. The iPod's keyboard is screwed up, when I press the letter "a" the capitalizing button is activated. They same is repeated over and over among over letters as well. The first sign of the issue was when I was trying to watch a video, the play button refused to be pressed and random things were constantly activated while I did nothing. The lock screen slide doesn't work either, the only way to get into my iPod is my activating the lock camera and then pressing the home button. Should I restore the iPod or is there a quick way to fix this?

Your screen digitizer needs to be replaced. See options in link below.

  • I broke the screen on my ipod touch 4th gen and im trying to do a backup on the data but it says i need to enter a passcode on my ipod but the screen dosent work so what can i do

hey i broke the screen on my ipod touch 4th Gen and im trying to do a backup on the data but it says I need to enter a passcode on my ipod but the screen dosent work so what can I do.

You can't backup the iPod t iTunes then. You will have to use an existing iTunes backup.
If iCloud backup is turned on and the iPod is still working (not disabled), the iPod will automatically backup daily if an internet connection is available and the iPod is connected to a charging source.

  • Can you get your ipod touch screen fixed for free if its the first time that is broke?

my friend broke her ipod screen and she took it into apple and they fixed it for free so can i get my fixed for free.

If someone breaks part of their device (intentionally or otherwise) it is not covered by the 1 year warranty so I'm not sure why she would have had it fixed for free.
If you are interested in finding out repair pricing make an appointment with a Mac Genius at an Apple store or contact AppleCare via phone.
    Cheers.

  • I recently broke my ipod touch screen would apple repair it?

OK its a 4th gen ipod touch.
I've got it about one year (11 months around)
And yesterday night i dropped it and the screen is extremely cracked.
The crack starts at the home button leading all the way to the camera (there are 4 cracks)
The touch screen is really unresponsive and it goes to places that i dont want.
    I dont have warrenty.
Would the apple store repair it and how much would it cost?
P.S. I've read online that some people had the same problem and no warrenty and The Apple Store replaced it for free. (not sure if it was the screen or the ipod itself).

    See here for pricing.
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/prices/
Yes, sometimes they were willing to swap out the iPod for free, but don't get your hopes up. They are under no obligation to do so, but it doesn't hurt to at least try.
There are also several third party repair centers who can replace the screen for a lot less.  A simple Google search for iPod screen repair should give you a number of results to work with.
