I broke my iPod Touch, need help...?
Hi guys,
So it's my understanding that Apple will replace your iPod for a fee of $100 (I have an 8GB 4th gen iPod Touch). Is there any way for me to transfer files from one iPod to another? Also, would this transfer basically make the new iPod identicaly to the other?

All of your "files" should be on your computer. You can sync them to any ipod touch you like.

Wanting to buy ipod touch need help on somethings
hi am looking to buy the i pod touch and was told that u can download from the tv on to it is this correct? how would i go about doing this? so i can transfer things i have recorded off the telly , please help am a complete novice as this will b the 1st i pod i have ever owned

Not heard of any direct tv to Touch download facility but who knows, in the future.
As of now you download everything through iTunes on your PC with the Touch connected. In addition to what iTunes offers you can import stuff from your pc eg. music, video, etc. Obviously, you'd need to get it from your tv to your PC first! Video has to be in a compatible mpeg-4 or H.264 format.
If it's not it can be converted using applications you can get off the web,
some are free, others you pay for. There's also a convert option in iTunes.
I don't pretend that this is all simple but, if you get stuck, there are many postings on here that will offer more help and advice but you'll need to look for them!

iOS8 broke my Ipod Touch Generation 5. I finished the whole update part, but when I try to finish setting up my iCloud with my Apple ID and Password, it sends me all the way back to the Hello screen. Can anyone help me with this? I've tried logging in to my iCloud at least 100 times with the same result. Yes I'm putting my password in correctly. I've even turned it off and on again. Nothing is working.

Since it seems the update cannot complete, you may want to try resetting your device:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset

How to reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
If the issue persists, try restoring your phone again, using this article:

so i got ios 7 in beta on my ipod touch, now several months later, it says my ipod touch needs to be activated. it wont activate over wifi or when connected to itunes. how can i fix this?

I am using IOS 4.1 in Ipod touch. I would like to take my data back using icloud. I am not able to enable icloud in to my ipod touch. please help me for the same. Basically I am trying to take back to upgrade my ios to 5 or 6 version.
You can't back up to iCloud until you update to iOS 5 or higher. You will have to back up your iPod on your computer using iTunes. Update iTunes on your computer to the latest version, then connect your iPod to your computer, open iTunes, if iTunes give you a pop-up asking if you want to update your iPod, decline. Then click on the name of your iPod in iTunes, go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases to transfer any purchased media to your iTunes library. Next, go to the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings and click on Back Up Now to back up your iPod on your computer.
When it's done backing up, click on Check for Update (or Update) on the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings. Allow your iPod to update, and leave it connected to your computer. At the end, it will restart and give you the option to restore to the iTunes backup you made earlier. Choose this option to restore your backup and sync your apps and other iTuens media to your phone.

If you weren't able to sync the purchases to a computer previously and now your iPod needs to be restored so you can't sync it now, then you may be out of luck and will need to purchase your content again. Officially Apple does not allow redownloads of purchased items other than iPhone/iPod touch applications and iBooks. The official statement of their policy can be found here, among other places.
You can try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service (select the "Music Purchases" or "Video Purchases" category, as appropriate, then "Lost or Missing Items". You'll find either an "Express Lane" button - just follow the instructions to get to the contact form - or an "Email Us" button) ") and explaining what happened. Reportedly in some cases Apple has allowed redownloading on a one-time basis. But don't count on it.

My ipod touch needed to be updated so I did and now it won't turn on all it does is show the itunes icon and says toconnect it to itunes so I did and let it be updated and now it wont turn on and I tried resetting but nothing changed.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Just a guess here, but it sounds like iTunes is under the impression that some of the song files it is managing are located on a removable drive. Do all of your songs play from iTunes? That might be hard to know if you have thousands of songs, but if a song was imported into iTunes, but the file was deleted afterward (like if you used removable media), you might get a warning like that, and the song wouldn't play in iTunes. Just a thought.
