I burned a playlist to a data CD using itunes 11 but what is best way to get it import it into another computer with itunes running? I get an "X" when trying to copy to the "automatically add to itunes" folder on the 2nd computer.

ok... so i i just made sure all my music is all together in 1 folder and i am going to trash my old music folder that is in the itunes folder... and follow your directions - let itunes start w/new library and bring my music in. Well, last little hurdle/question. I noticed that the place where my itunes library is - on an external drive doesnt have much space left on it. The place where i gathered all my music together in order to start fresh - is a different external drive and has LOTS of free space on it.
SO... i now would like to just keep all that freshly compiled clean music right where it is but in advanced preferences I want to point to that new folder on the drive that has so much more space. So... should i delete the old music then go into itunes with a blank library and change the folder in preferences - quit and go back in and then follow your steps to loading my music? If i change the setting of where itunes looks for the music - that doesn't wipe out the old stuff... it just mixes it all up together right? I dont want that!!
i promise this is the last question - i would love to fix this problem tonight and just be DONE!

Paragon even has non-destriuctive conversion utility if you do want to change drive.
Hard to imagine using 3TB that isn't NTFS. Mac uses GPT for default partition type as well as HFS+

What is the best way to get rid of duplicates in the XML data?

Hi all,
Please help me with the best way to get rid of the duplicates in the XML data. Will a transform with some stylesheet do the trick? I need to read on the stylesheet first, but please tell me if that is possible. I have to deal with XML data that has tons of duplicate data. Please see one section of an XML file. You can see that for each charge, the same defendant information (address, ID numbers, etc) is included. Having 10 charges is not uncommon, so I would have the same data repeated 10 times. I first thought that I would use some temp tables to do that, but I wonder if there were a better way. Thanks a lot. Please see the data below.

I plugged my iPhone into another computer and it looks like I lost all my data. How do I undo this? I tried plugging it back into my default computer and it makes me register the phone. I don't want to lose all my data.

That's certainly odd... the activation being lost could have been a carrier issue or iOS software issue...
Was the phone already working and activated prior to this issue?
You may be stuck with having to restore...
By default iTunes or iCloud (whichever you have designated) will back up your content and settings... Content wise remember it's still always in iTunes even if you remove it from the phone...
If a back up was performed prior to you have this issue (either by iTunes or iCloud) then performing the restore will take a bit but wont cause you to loose anything as after the restore is completed iTunes will ask if you want to restore from a back up or set up as a new device... choose the restore from back up option and choose the most recent back up listed and it will then restore all your settings and content...
Keep in mind this will only be ture IF a back up has recently been saved in iTunes or iCloud...
In iTunes it's easy to tell... open iTunes and go to prefferences... go to the devices tab and it will tell you the device and last date/time of last back up...
Unfortunately I'm not aware of how to check to when the last iCloud backup was performed UNLESS you happen to have another iOS device already... another iPhone or iPad for example...
If you do, then on that other iOS device... goto Settings > General > Manage Storage (under the iCloud section) and it will show you any iCloud back ups youve done with any devices

Wondering how to get my device from the other computer especially since I don't even know what computer it's connected to.

At some stage is is likely to have been connected to another computer's iTunes. It is now linked to that computer's library and iPhones can only be associated to one library at a time. Linking to a different one requires wiping the phone.
If you used the phone with another computer you owned you can transfer the iTunes library from that computer to this one and the phone will still be syncing with the same library it was before.
If all there is on the phone are items which can be backed up to iTunes and purchases which can be transferred you could do that, then wipe the phone and sync them back.

What is the best way to get data to a user interface?

I'm using labview 6i. I have an application with a handful of "core" vi's that actually run my application, doing the data acquisition, analysis, and control. I am currently using these same vi's for my user interface. I also have a number of vi's that contain menu's for configuring the "core" vi's. My questions is, what is the best way to seperate the "core" vi's from the user interface vi's. Global's, data socket, control references, others?

Hi Sal,
I have been a strong advocate of control refnums ever since LV 6i hit the streets. I recomend you look into using them to provide this conectivity.
You could accomplish this by using a variation on the following.
In your UI, create refnums for each of the controls or indicators that must be monitored or updated. Pass the appropriate refnums to each of the "core.i's" at program init time. Inside each of the core.vi's, use property nodes to read the control's values when appropriate and similarly for display purposes. (Note: Not all boolean mechanical actions are compatible with this technique. In those case you will have to explicitly write false values after find the control to be true or vise versa).
By using this technique, you can keep the UI diagrams clea
n. Depending on your app. the UI diagram could consist of the init's I mentioned above, and a while loop that watches if it's time to exit.

Whats the best way to manipulate data using a Form ??

I have a few forms and basic navigation and data manipulation I find are rubbish - cos I am rubbish at making it any better.
I have a customer form (layout style of form) and table, I set up 2 buttons (enter_query & execute_query) to retrieve specific details based on customer ID input by the user. If the specified ID is for the wrong customer I want a button or buttons that will navigate through the IDs one by one until the right customer is found. If it was a tabular form I could do it but can I manage this if the form is not ?
Once the data is retrieved what is the best way to manipulate and save it ? Can I create a button that has PL/SQL code to UPDATE that particular record or do you guys and girls use the SAVE icon ?
Finally, I can't work out how to get the right side of the form displayed it seems to miss off an inch or 2. The canvas editor shows the form properly, the window size is just a smidge bigger than the canvas. When the form is run, how can I make the display area for the R/H/S bigger ?

Sorry - I had to read up on what a base table block was.
I think I am. In this particular form I have one block - a customer block which has its items pulled in from the customer table, no problems there, it works fine.
My problem is I need to make it as user friendly as possible, if the user inputs the wrong customer ID (or does not know their name) I want them to be able to scroll through the customer list using an up or down button.
When do you have the commit_form statement run, (the OK button) after every change or after a block of changes ? Commit writes the changes to the database giving other users access to that data right ?! How often should it be used ?

Intel Hex Format is a text format describing binary data, usually used for chip programming devices. Besides records for the actual data itself it also allows for addressing records, such that you only need to have the data in the file that needs to be written to the chip, even if the various areas are all over the address range of the chip. What is Best Way to import my old iTunes Library on Data CD-R's ?

Hi,
I backed up my entire music collection on Data CD's (using 10.2.8) before i upgraded to Tiger. My music is all in Data form on this media (about 7 cd's worth). What is the BEST and fastest way to get my old music library back into my Current iTunes Library ( latest version of Tiger's iTunes) ?

Moving from 13" MBP to 15" MBP... What is the best way to get data moved over?

I have a 13" MBP Mid-2009 model, upgrading to a 15" MBP Late-2011 model. Both are on Lion OS 10.7.3. I use Time Machine to back up the old machine. If I use Migration Assistant, is a recovery from the Time Machine Backup taken on the 13" MBP over to the 15" MBP the best way to bring over all of the Apps and Data? I know that the 13" has different HW drivers, so am unsure if the recovery will overwrite these drivers on the new 15" MBP. Just trying to make sure that I do not mess up the new system, but have not been able to find out if Time Machine will preserve the critical OS files during the recovery.

Some suggest you use Setup Assistant when you first turn the new MBP on.
I have never used it to transfer any data from one computer to another, from Mac or PC to new Mac.
I simply don't trust it, never had on any platform.
I find it easier for me to just network computers together and copy data over. That way only the data I want is copied to the new computer. I can make all the interface changes myself.
Oh as eww says do NOT use a TM backup from the older Mac to move data over to the new one. You could possibly be looking at reinstalling the OS on the new unit.

Whats the best way to archive live audio data while transmitting?

I am trying to archive audio conversations and am wondering what the ebst way to do it is. I doubt recording then playing it back is good since there will be a lag between data. I am thinking of creating a datasink and record while playing using datasource. anyone can help me out? sample codes? thanks!

well if I made it non-static, wouldn't I have to create a new object of that class in each class I want to use it in?
for example, that class that populates the database must parse a file to create the database.

file.parseFile("QAGENT");So inside each class I would have to do this wouldn't I? if I made it public static, wouldn't I only have to read to the disk once?
Putting it to a worst case say, 100 classes need this database, that means I would have to make 100 accesses to the disk woulnd't it?
And if it was public static, it would jsut return a copy of the database that was only read from the disk once or am I misunderstanding how it works?

Why are all of my artists/albums/playlists in random order after using iTunes Match?

I enabled iTunes match some months ago. I have almost everythign uploaded or matched from my library. But when I open the music app on my phone all of the artists are in seemingly random order. This is not an issue with the sort order naming in the meta data. I have no idea what is causing it. The artists, albums, everything is completely out of order. Furthermore, a lot of the songs are completley misslabeled. I will try to play a Death Cab For Cutie song for instance and it starts playing kanye west.
Is there any way to completely redo my iTunes Match? I can't seem to figure it out and I'm tired of a service that I am paying for giving me very little performance.

If you have AppleCare on your iPhone then call Apple, it's baically the only way you will get help on that front. Tell them about the issues. After a little while of trouble shooting they should pass you to a senior technician.
What trouble shooting have you done?
If you haven't done so already, Apple will request you to do it while they have you on the phone. Also, do not restore from a backup, set it up as a new device.
