Yes, you can setup the iPod and redownload past iTunes purchases. You need a wifi connectin to the interent.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • Can I buy an iPod classic in the USA and use it in Germany

    Dear friends and apple users,
I am currently using a MacBook bought in Germany with Mac OS X 10.4.11 and I would like to buy an iPod in the United States as I am staying here for a long time. Can I also use this iPod classic in Germany without any restrictions? I have heard that there is some kind of feature from Apple that makes it possible not to be able to use the iPod outside the USA/with a non-american Apple device.
Thank you for answering in advance,
    my name

I really want to get an iphone, but I'm in the Army and I'm getting assigned to Germany in a few months. I plan for Germany to be my home for a few years. When I looked at Apple stores in Europe I saw they had them in Italy and UK, but not in Germany. My main issue is if AT&T is the service provider in GE. Or do they offer more options over in Europe? Does anyone have any knowledge or experience?

  • Is it worthy to buy an iPod Classic now (July, 2014)?

    Hi guys!
I have a 32GB iPhone 5 and I want a dedicated device to use as my only music player, so I thought on getting an iPod classic. Since we are two months away from the next Apple's big launch, I want to hear from you guys if it is worth for me to buy the current model of the iPod Classic, launched in 2011, now in 2014. Let me hear opinions and stories!

The iPod classic first came out in 2009, and two years later had minor updates (just new capacities, AFAIK). Now it's been another three years so there's not much of a pattern to go off of. That being said, if the current iPod meets your needs then get it.

  • Buying an iPod Classic game from Argentina is impossible??

    Hi.
I live in Argentina and recently I was given an iPod Classic 80G as a present. I was trying to buy a game for the iPod but I'm finding it impossible, since iTunes Store is not in Argentina. Is there any way I can get to buy a game for my iPod? If not, this is completely contradicting the supposed intention to avoid piracy. I mean, I'm not even trying to buy music... just a $5 game... is it impossible? Wouldn't it be very easy to set up an international purchase system which offers the possibility to use any international credit card just like I would in Amazon.com or any other store? Please help.
    Thanks,
    Martin FC

You know, it's strange, because nowadays more and more software providers are offering "direct download" purchases, for example of games. Large game developers do this for their games, for example last year I bought the game "Battlefield 2142" directly from Electronic Arts and I downloaded it over a couple of hours. And we're talking about "cross border transfers".
Really, I know what you mean... but for $5 games like Bomberman?!?! Another example of the complications of this system is something I read in a local Apple-related forum. Some people are worrying because supposedly a new update for the iPhone or iPod Touch will come with a cost, and since it will be delivered via iTunes Store apparently, there will be no legal way of obtaining the update here (no iTunes Store).
In any case, as I said before, I think that there should be a generic international iTunes Store for this kind of cases (updates, games, etc).

  • Buying logic 7.2 second hand,,, whats the risc??

Im on logic express right now, and its a little too basic for me so i would love to use Logic Pro.
I can get a 2nd hand logic pro 7.2. But what i want to know is whats up with the licencing and possibilites for future upgrades. Is it legal?? Am i entitled to get support??
What are the riscs im taking buying logic 7.2 2nd hand??
    thanx

That was my second question, if i sell my logic express, and can get the 2nd hand logic for 650 ill have logic cheaper, then when i buy the upgrade. So then i can better sell my logic express for around $100 and get 2nd hand logic.
When is logic 8 expected to be released??? Matter of 3 months?? 6 months etc???
How much will an update cost??
    thanx poeple

  • I have an ipod nano 8gb which is full, my husband is a jazz fan, I am thinking of buying another ipod classic 160gb - is it possible to link this to the same library in itunes and just put all his jazz on the new ipod?

I have an ipod nono 8gb which is about 5 years old and is full - my husband is a jazz fan, and now I have  jazz on my little ipod and my ipod touch. I am thinking of getting an ipod classic 160gb and putting all his jazz on to it. Is it possible for me to link it to my Itunes library and his Itunes library and just put all the jazz on to the new Ipod classic? if so, how do I then delete the jazz of the other two ipods?

There is no limit to the number of iPods you can sync to one computer, iTunes library, or account.
You might want to create a seperate iTunes library for him, perhaps on another user account on the system and move all of his Jazz music over to that new library.  Once you have all of his music moved over to his own library, remove it from your own and then resync both of your iPods to clear his music off.  This is just one way to do it.
If that was a bit confusing, take a look at this article for a few ways to manage multiple iPods with one computer.

  • I am planning on buying an Ipod classic to replace my old ipod nano, i am wondering if when i buy it can i plug it straight into my itunes and will everything be transferred from my nano, or will it delete everything? songs etc...

I am planning on purchasing an ipod classic to replace my old ipod nano. I am just wondering if i am able to plug it in to my itunes, and everthing will be transferred onto the classic simply? Or will it automatically delete all my songs as it will not recognise the classic? Also, will it inform me what to do when i plug the classic in, to set it up?

If you want to have the photos stored on an external HD, you probably should move them there in your operating system before you import into Lightroom.
But, if you don't yet own an external HD, you can import from the internal hard drive and later move the photos to wherever you want them to be, as long as you do it properly.

  • Why should i buy an ipod classic 120GB??? Help me please

I need to make a decision today.
Tell me why i should buy one.
My only worry is that the Classic has a hard drive, and we all know hard drives can crash.
Are there any problems that are common i should know about??
    Thankyou for your help

I am sorry to hear that your experience has been so bad with your iPod. As I said, there are some annoyances - some people may be more bothered by them than others. And of course, losing ones music (more than once) is a major deal.
One note concerning one of your complaints - the low volume. Since you mentioned you paid Euros, I would have to guess that it was purchased in the EU. Apple was sued over the maximum volume several years ago by the French government which ultimately resulted in the EU regulating maximum volume in all MP3 players. Units purchased in the US do not suffer from this issue (as my ringing ears can attest to on more than one occasion). And I actually reduce the gain on all of my albums to reduce the distortion that current record producers introduce into the music with over-compression.
The one issue I wholeheartedly agree with you on is the pausing. Though to me it is nothing more than an annoyance (and it happens only rarely), I can see how it would REALLY bother someone. As far as other players are concerned, I've had issues with those as well - a SanDisk device that suddenly decided to show duplicates of all of my songs. Of course, the SanDisk did not cost nearly as much as my iPod.
Are iPods either the best or the worst of the MP3 players on the market. I can't say as I have not done the research. I agree though, that there is plenty of room for improvement.

  • Thinking of buying an ipod classic but will it syc to 2 pc's?

I have an old pc with music on it and want to syc to ipod and then transfer to new pc.  Is it possible or do I lose stuff. Many thanks in advance.
Also should I buy a classic or is there anythin else I should be looking at.  Just want music and a good amount of space

I have several iPods ranging from 1st and 2nd gen Mini to 5th and 6th gen Classics.  I always use "Manually manage music" and have no trouble connecting my iPods to any of my 3 computers.  It lets me connect to iTunes and add music from any of the 3 computers to the iPods.
As I understand it, the iPod is supposed to be a 'one-way' street for music.  You can add music, but not get it off.  You're not really supposed to be using your iPod to move music from one computer to another.
If your iPod is set to 'Enable disk use,' you can use it as a removable disk drive.  It should show in My Computer and you can copy files to it like it was a USB thumb drive, then connect to the other computer an copy them off.  When they're on the other computer, you can just add them to iTunes.
When it comes to which iPod to get and also just wanting to play music and have a good amount of space, I understand what you mean.  I think an iPod Mini that's had its 4gb microdrive replaced with a Compact Flash card is a GREAT option.
They can use most of the common sizes of CF cards and they work GREAT.  I've done several of them and feel the best value is the 32gb size, but 16gb, 8gb and 4gb would work.  32gb still a ton of space in a small package and will have plenty of room for four or five thousand of your favorite songs.  (and I'm only adding this as a direct response to what iPod to get, but it just happens that I have a 32gb Mini listed on ebay right now.)
For me now, a 32gb Mini is my every day carry iPods, then my iPhone 5 gets to do everything else.

  • Buying Final Cut Studio second hand- can I install on Mac Pro?

I'm going to buy Final Cut Studio software from a friend, who has registered the application with Apple. Can I install the software on my Mac Pro without problems? The previous owner had it installed on a MacBook Pro.

As long as they delete it from their computer, you should be fine....

  • If I buy a macbook pro second hand, am I able to bring it to the apple store to be reset to factory settings?

I am looking into buying a macbook pro used and there is the chance that it still has a user on it which will stop me from using the computer. Is it possible to bring a used computer into the store to be reset to factory settings? I am a current apple user if that helps.

Unless the Mac has been reformatted (disk erased) the prior owner's admin account would still be setup.
Try to get the original install disc(s) that came with the Mac otherwise you will need to purchase Snow Leopard because at some point you may need to repair the startup disk or reformat the drive.
Snow Leopard is still available from Apple >  Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store.
I doubt Apple will reformat the drive and reinstall OS X for you unless you pay a fee.

  • Buying iPod Classic in UK for foreign user.

I would like to buy an iPod classic in a UK retail store, but the computer/itunes account that will use the iPod will be foreign (EU), will it work? If so what about the warranty and are there other things to keep in mind?

It will work fine. The warranty rights should probably hold elsewhere, particularly within the EU See http://www.apple.com/uk/legal/warranty/ for small print.
