I feel as though I am forced into repairing the iphone before I can backup the information (photos, videos, contacts). If the apple ID on the device is the same as the one on my iMac I do not understand why I have to unlock the iphone by typing in the 4 digit passcode. This is a little ******** as having the screen break seems to be the usual prpblem with the iphone, I want to be able to backup my files when I feel the obvious need to do so (eg. when it breaks)! I also believe I shouldn't have to use other apps for backing it up (which I obviously have to pay for).. I am rather angry with this issue.

Okay folkes, you were right and I was wrong.. I admit it. But I was pretty mad though when I tryed to backup the last few contacts I needed for work and couldn't do so. Worst things are when something gets broken (by me or whatever) when there is an emergency. I needed the contacts off of that phone real fast and couldn't do it, thats what got me real mad. And btw I am a Russian living in Moscow and instead of having an official Apple store we have shopes called ReStore who resell apple devices with ridiculous prices, same thing with the repairs. It is cheaper to sometimes buy a new iphone then repair an old one.. So there.. but I repaired it and now happy again with my apple device.. Also I know the itunes and icloud are free and I do back it up, this time however I couldn't use them and had to try the iphone extractor app, which is not free. There.. despite the workaround, it doesn't fix the real problem. It shouldn't be a huge deal for adobe to add support for multiple svn versions. Dreamweaver is the first tool i've used that works with svn that doesn't support several types of svn meta data. If they're going to claim that Dreamweaver supports svn is should actually support svn, the current version, not a version several years old. This should have been among the first patches released, or at least after snow leopard came out (and packaged with it the current version of svn).
does anyone know if the code that handles meta data formatting is something that is human readable, or where it might be, or is it in compiled code.

If the contacts on the old phone were synced to a mail account or iCloud account, then they will be easy to recover. Just sign into your iCloud account on the new phone (Settings > iCloud) and then enable the 'Contacts' option. If the contacts were stored in your iCloud account, they will now appear on the phone.
If the contacts were stored in a mail account such as Gmail, Yahoo, etc, then add that mail account to the phone in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account. Then make sure the 'Contacts' option is enabled here as well.
If that still doesn't work you may need to try to recover them from an iCloud or iTunes backup of the old phone -- do you have one of those?

Hi .. I am using iPhone5 and the new iPad. Today, with no change, my iphone just lost all the contacts. I checked in my iCloud, all the contacts are erased from there as well. I dont know what to do now as i dont remeber anyone's by number anymore.

It will ONLY be where you selected it to sync.
This is something that you should haev done from the very beginning when you originally set up the iphone.
I sync mine to Address Book.
It sounds like you have failed to sync your contacts.

Do I Need the AE SDK For This?

I hope this posting isn't in the wrong place. I've asked a similar question in the general forum, but have had no "bites" yet.
I'm wondering about custom animation effects (*.ffx files). When browsing through the project templates with AE7, I ran across the Expression Sampler.aet template. This project contains many compositions. These compositions contain effects that I cannot find anywhere in AE. For example, the "bounce" composition contains an effect called "Bounce". It looks to be a simple collection of controls to be used for animating parameters for an expression. By itself, it appears to do nothing. I believe it's main purpose is to supply values for an expression.
What I can't figure out is how to create such an effect (collection of controls). How would I reproduce something similar? Do I need to use the AE SDK? or is there some feature in the software that will suffice, that I just haven't found yet? I've been scourering the 'net and the Adobe site with no luck.
I know about the six Expression Controls effects, but those will only allow you to add one control per effect. You can't group a bunch of related controls together.

Yes, I understand that now. However, how can I reproduce what was done with the "Bounce" effect? The Expression Controls only allow you to place a single control in to an effect, not group them together. I'm interested in learning how to create similar groupings of controls.

You can only get the information back if you were backing up the iPad. If you were backing up, you can restore the backup in order to recover your data and settings. Were you backing up your iPad?
