I-Cal: I need to grant administrative access to my assistant...

I need to grant administrative access to my assistant so that she can make scheduling edits to my i-Cal.  I still need to have full administrative access to the calendar as well.  How does one grant dual access?

Try booting into safe mode.

  • Grant Administrator privileges to users

    Problem Description:
I need to grant Administrator privileges to one of my users. How do I do that? He needs to upload the reports and invite the users to view them.

HiAs of Dec 16, 2007, administrator can now grant administrator privileges to other users. We have added a new Administrators group in the users tab.  There are 3 scenarios for adding users to the Administrators group:Scenario 1: New user - If the user does not currently exist within
your crystalreports.com account, you can add the new Administrator by clicking
the Administrator user group on the Users tab
    and then clicking Add User.
Scenario 2: Existing user added before December 15, 2007 - If the
user is already in your crystalreports.com account and was added before December
15, 2007, send an email to crystalreports.com Support at [email protected]
with the user's email address. Support will notify you when the user is ready to
be upgraded to Administrator status. Once you receive approval, you can then add
the user to the Administrator user group on the
    Users tab.
Scenario 3: Existing user added after December 15, 2007 - If the
user is already in your crystalreports.com account and was added after December
15, 2007, as a Member, you can add the new Administrator by
clicking on the Administrator user group on the
Users tab and then clicking Add User. If the
user was added after Dec. 15, 2007 as a Guest, you must follow
the instruction in Scenario 2. After completing either of the three scenario
above, the new Administrator user will now have full rights to add users, upload
or publish reports, and manage your crystalreports.com account. thanks!Michelle  Certain criteria must be met for an account to become an Administrator.See ALSO: http://technicalsupport.businessobjects.com/cs/forums/thread/14541.aspx

  • How can I grant Application access to a user via API ) programattically

how do I grant access to a portal user from API
I want to grant access to a user from an API, ie I need a
command to grant "SCOTT" access to "EXAMPLE_APP" APPLICATION as
    an end user?

    Hi,
I am assuming that you have already updated the EUL in the Administrator Edition, correct? If not, open Discoverer Administrator and login to the database you want to connect to. You must use your EUL user name which I assume has already been created and assigned the correct privileges in the database. You will be asked to update your EUL. Follow the prompts.
Once logged into the EUL, go to Tools \ Privileges and find the user that you want to give administrator access to.
    Hopefully, this answers your question.

  • We have two users that have been using Creative Cloud for almost a year. Recently, sometime in the last 4ish weeks, the users can no longer run Creative Cloud apps. (Yes, our subscription is paid.) Error simply says administrator access is required

We have two users that have been using Creative Cloud for almost a year. Recently, sometime in the last 4ish weeks, the users can no longer run Creative Cloud apps. (Yes, our subscription is paid.) Error simply says administrator access is required to install. The apps have already been installed. The users cannot run them unless they are in the local admin group.Using "Run as admin" does not work. It gives the same error.
I have opened a case with adobe support and was basically told to suck it up and put the users in the admin group. Actually, what was said was that it is "mandated that the users have administrative rights".
There are a couple of things wrong with this. It was working for both users until recently - a recent required creative cloud update. The users have never been local admins yet the apps were working (poorly, but working).
We are in an enterprise environment and users simply do not have administrative rights on the computers.
I have changed permissions on all adobe folders, granting users or authenticated users modify or full control rights, did the same in whatever Adobe registry HKLM keys I could find. Nothing has allowed the users to run the apps - unless they are put in the local admin group.
Someone has to have a fix for this. Adobe apps have proved to have far too many vunerabilities to even entertain the idea of elevating user rights. I can't imagine that enterprise environments are allowing this.
Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Jeff,
Thank you for your response. The users in question are "standard" domain users. We do not reduce users permissions below the standard level.
The apps do not load with their current standard user permissions.
The thing that makes this odd, is that up until recently they did this issue with cloud apps. The only way I can make it work for them now is to put them in the local administrator group on their pc's - which is not going to happen.
This is what they now see. As I said before, this was not a problem up until recently they would see all their available apps. If I put them in the local admin group the apps are listed without having to install. Everything is there, just not accessible to the user.

  • Log - Administrative access denied....

I'm seeing numerous "Administrative access denied to xxxx::xx:xx:xx....." statements in my log.
    Do I have a problem?

    NO.
When you first try to access you Airport using the Airport utility. It will check for a password. It will deny access until the correct password is entered.
If you look at the line after "denied" in the log, you'll see access granted (after the password has been entered) to the machine you are accessing from.

  • Mac wakes up for Ethernet network administrator access, goes to sleep again

I'm running Mac OS X 10.4.6 on an iMac G5, and the OS is set up such that it presents a login prompt after the Mac is witched on from standby mode. If one does not start to type in a password, the machine goes back into standby mode after a dozen seconds or so, which is helpful e.g. in case I have hit the keyboard by accident.
However, there are situations when I don't want this to happen. For instance, I own a SqueezeBox v5 device, which will wake also the Mac when I turn it on via its remote control (I assume via "Wake for Ethernet network administrator access"). However, since I do type on the Mac keyboard in this case, but use the Squeezebox remote control instead, the Mac decides to turn itself off again. I'm also facing this with utilities that try to wake up my Mac at a certain time to perform their functions (e.g. with Audio Hijack Pro).
So my question is, is there any way to tell Mac OS X not to fall back into standby mode when woken up by another mechanism than normal keyboard typing, via some configuration file or similar. Turning off the keyword prompt entirely is not a tolerable option for me in this case.
Thanks for any help on this,
    Christian

      Mac OS X (10.4.3)

The 'wake for ethernet network administrator access' does not mean 'wake on any old ethernet traffic you like'.
In other words you can't just try to hit any service you choose - if the machine is asleep then it doesn't even have an IP address that's going to listen to your hit.
How it works is via a special broadcast protocol sent from another machine on the LAN. The packet is sent to the machine's hardware MAC address (and therefore doesn't need any services to be running on the machine). When the hardware detects the packet it wakes up the machine.
There are a few utilities that will send the relevant packets to wake a machine. Apple Remote Desktop has it, but so do free utilities like WakeOnLAN.

  • Administrator access only

I am going to be taking my Mac Pro to an Apple authorize repair dealer. I have files on my hard drive that I want to keep private so I have file vault turned on. I have two users configured on my Mac. One is the administrator that has full access to my computer. The second user that does not have administrator access (can't have access to my files). When I drop my Mac off at the Mac dealer to have a new battery installed, install more ram memory, diagnose why my computer is not starting properly when I push the start up button on computer, and find out why my computer is not awaking from sleep. Will the technician be able to do these proceeders logged on as an user of my computer, who does not have administrator access to my computer?

They might need admin access. If you do a backup of your computer, turn File Vault off, and remove the files, the techs will be able to work much easier.

  • No Administrator Access

I am the administrator of my machine and have my user + one more created, however for some reason I do not have administrator access. The secondary user does not have administrator access either.
When I log into the System Preferences / Accounts, the "Allow user to administer this computer" option is not available. The padlock shows as locked and when I select it a pop-up appears asking for the name and password of the administrator. I know that the password is correct and have tried entering multiple combinations of the user name but nothing works
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

only managed to get the 'Invalid Path' message even when trying the alternative commandIt isn't an alternative.
So, the first nicl command gives you "Invalid Path"? That usually means there is no "groups" category, or "admin" group, in the NetInfo database. The purpose of the 2nd and 3rd nicl commands is to create that entry, so that you then repeat the first command. What did it say to the 2nd and 3rd commands?
If it really messed up, we may need to start you up again with a default NetInfo database. Don't worry, it's not too difficult. But first, run the following commands using Terminal, not in Single User, and copy/paste the output here.
Open the Terminal (from /Applications/Utilities) and copy and paste the following into the Terminal window, one line at a time, with a return after each line:
    nireport . /users uid gid name realname home | awk '$1>500 {print $0}'
    nireport . /groups name gid users | egrep "admin|staff"
ls -ln /UsersThis will allow me to help you get your NetInfo database back in shape.

  • Why have I lost administration access to G4 macmini suddenly?

Help! Administration access to G4 Macmini refused suddenly. Mini is networked with iBook G3, both on OS10.4.6, on Apple Airport. I can not get into any program that needs administration access. No such problem on iBook. Problem also exists on direct access to Comcast. So it's not ISP.

If you mean that there isn't an administrator account
on the computer, follow the instructions in <A

To Niel: Thank you. To clarify a little more, the problem occurred suddenly last week. The loss of administrative access on mini also affects keychain access. It is locked on system and refuses to copy iBook's keychain access app. Is this just part of administrator's access loss? Thanks again.

  • How to grant admin access to a CDOT cluster via an Active Directory group

We have a new 4 node CDOT cluster that we are building out at this time. This is the first on our company as the rest are all running 7-mode.When I add execute the following commands on our new CDOT cluster, I am able to successfully login via putty or system manager:security login create -vserver vs1 -username DOMAIN\username -application ontapi -authmethod domain -role admin
security login create -vserver vs1 -username DOMAIN\username -application ssh -authmethod domain -role adminHowever, I need to provision security access via AD groups as we have a ot of admins that need access. If I use the following commands to provision security, the commands are accepted by ONTAP but AD credential sets will not grant access to putty or system manager.security login create -vserver vs1 -username "DOMAIN\AD Group" -application ontapi -authmethod domain -role admin

  • Granting full access rights to archiving reports

    Hi,
During Monitoring Reports deployment, I've unintentionally granted ReadOnly permission to user administrator. Now I access to https://servername/reports and only view directories. I don't have any buttons, such as "new folder" or "new data
source". I tried to rerun Monitoring Reports deployment - no result. In SQL management console for administrator user I unchecked ReportsReadOnlyRole for databases where this role exists. And also granted administrator user dbowner for all databases -
    no result.

    Hi,
Is there any update on the issue?
If the issue persists, you can also post the issue on SQL Reporting Services forum as the issue is also related to SQL Report Server permission issue. Thank you for your understanding.
