I Cal in iCloud

I have switched my wife's MacBook Air over to Icloud and it is active in system preferences. However when I go to iCal it still shows the account as mobileme and it is causing old and duplicate entires in the calendar. My own Mac under my own account shows fine!
Any ideas?
Thanks

Does your wife have a mobile me account listed as a secondary account in system preferences > mail, contacts and calendars.

  • Overwrite iMac cal from iCloud (iPad)

I upgraded to IOS5 on my iPad and synched with iCloud.  Then I switched synching off and synched with my iMac which had not yet been upgrade to OS Lion.  The result is duplication in both calendars.  I was warned.  I now have a cleaned up master diary on my iPad and it is once again synched to iCloud.  When I upgrade to Lion this weekend will I be able to overwrite the Calendar data on the iMac and replace it with the the calendar data from the ICloud?  I do not want to merge.  Will I need to remove Synch History on the Mac?

On your iPad, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Sync (in the Calendars section) and change this to a different setting, then after a minute or so set to to All Events.  Then check your iPad calendars to see if that cleared things up.
If it didn't, add any events from your iPad that are missing from your calendars on icloud.com.  After the calendars on icloud.com contain all you iPad events, on your iPad go to Settings>iCloud, turn Calendars to Off, choose Delete from My iPad when prompted (they will still be in iCloud), then after a minute or so turn Calendars back to On.  See if your iPad calendars are working properly now.

  • Subscribed Cal on iCloud

    Hello -
I previously subscribed to a calendar from Team Snap and that calendar is under my "iCloud" calendar entry in Calendar.  The benefit to this that because it's flagged as "iCloud" and not "On My Mac" in the settings, I only have to add it once and then it populates to all of my machines (Web, iOS, OS X).
Unforatunetly, now, everytime I try to resubscribe to updated calendars, it always wants to put it down under SUBSCRIPTIONS and it grays out iCLOUD as a location option.  It only has On My Mac as an option which means I can't just add it once and have it populate out to all my devices.  Much more cumbersome.
What am I doing wrong?  How do I add a subscribed calednar to iCloud and not On My Mac?

No, turning time zone support on will give you some options which could cause what you are seeing, I was merely trying to rule that out as a possibility. Click on your name in the main iCloud.com window and check your time zone is set to the same zone as your mac uses in System Preferences > Date & Time > Time Zone.

  • Access to iCloud goes out daily for the evening - but I still have all other internet functioning

For the last 4 days, @ about 5 pm Norwegian time, I have no access to my Mail, Cal, or iCloud even in Safari.  Gmail functions. Skype functions, all other internet use functions.  The same happens on my other devices and also to other iCloud users in the house. (we are not on family sharing)  This happens only on our home wifi network.  We are on a satellite wifi.  Any ideas?
    It is very frustrating -
The service seems to resume around 4 am in the morning.
    Thanks!

I still want to keep my Droid, it makes a handy WiFi-ready "micro-tablet" (as I call it), plus I can still play all my NES/SNES/Genesis games on it, I love the QWERTY keyboard for that kind of stuff.
However, I dropped the phone on a hardwood floor from about 3 feet up, and **BOOM**, screen completely goes out.  The "soft keys" light up, keyboard still lights up.  I can see the two small LED light sources coming from the very bottom of the screen.  When I drag my finger across the screen, I still get the haptic feedback of my phone being "Unlocked".
I've done battery pull, let it discharge fully, charge it back up, no good.
So even though this isn't technically my "active phone" anymore, would VZW still be able to do anything to try & get it fixed?  It's obsolete & outdated now (sorry, Droid 1 owners), but this is actually a replacement phone that I've had for less than a year, so wouldn't it still be covered under warranty?
If the phone is not currently activated on your line, there is no warranty. Warranty does not cover damage anyhow, you would need insurance for this. You can take it to one of those cell phone repair companies and have them fix it for you, but those are quite pricey.
Also, I'm pretty sure you can't use WiFi on a phone that is not activated.

  • "403" to operation CalDAVSetPropertyQueueableOperation., "403" to operation CalDAVSetPropertyQueueableOperation.

I'm getting this error in a dialog box every day.  What's the problem?
    “403”
    to operation CalDAVSetPropertyQueueableOperation.

I think it was an early iCloud problem, subsequently addressed by Apple.
This is a guess at how you could fix it now:
    - Go directly to iCloud via the web and verifying that your data is correct in the cloud.  If it is correct in the cloud, then
    - Disable (unsubscribe) Cal in iCloud on your Mac (iCloud in System Prefs) or iOS device (iCloud in Settings) and tell it to delete the data on your local device.
    - Reboot
    - Subscribe your Cal to iCloud and it should download a fresh copy of the data.

We have just moved from MobileMe, where we had a 'Family account' (and we each have our own @me.com email addresses) to iCloud. We share the Cal and Contacts on our iMac. How do we sync to multiple devices - we each have an iPad and an iPhone, but with different accounts set up for mail. Mine syncs OK to Cal and Contacts, but hers doesn't. There must be a way! Please help.

According the this: http://www.apple.com/mobileme/transition.html, "After moving to iCloud, family member accounts are no longer linked to the master account."  You can share an iCloud calendar (see http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2690), but I don't think you will be able to share iCloud contacts unless you are signed into the same iCloud account on both phones.

  • Share iCloud Cal to Google Cal

I would like  to share my Cal/iCloud Calendar to my wives Google Cal and probably the reverse as well, so i can see hers.
Firstly, sharing mine... i notice on my PC here [as i view my iCloud cal on a PC, on my Mac and IOS device.. and assume the settings will be roughly the same on all] i can:
    share to another iCloud Cal
    Create public link
if i create a public link and link my wives Google Cal to it, she will see my Cal, but as its 'Public', is there anywhere else people can pick up this calendar from? See it if i dont want them to? i do they have to receive the link from me to be able to see it? its not searchable on search engines or anything is it?

Everybody who gets the link to your calendar will see it! But it i snot very probably that someone find your link....

  • Can I still manually sync contacts / cal in iTunes with iCloud on?

My wife likes to sync her iPhone contacts and calendar manually with Outlook / iTunes.  Despite my suggestion that she convert to Goggle contacts or another wireless sync option, this is how she is comfortable doing it so she wants to leave it as is.  Well I just got her an iPad and want both devices to have the same contact and calendar data?  So I decided to turn iCloud Contact and Calendar syncing on (I started with just Contacts) through the iPhone settings.
Her contacts now appear on both devices (iPhone and iPad) but I was confused as to what happens to the way she traditionally syncs.  For example I added a test contact in Outlook and then manually synced the iPhone w/ iTunes.  That new contact appeared on her iPhone but now there are two Contact Groups on her phone - "iCloud" and "From My Computer".  From My Computer has just the one test contact I added while iCloud has all the rest (which were originally all fomr my PC).  And the new test contact was never synced to the iPad.  So it appears that by turning Contacts on in iCloud, it essentially converted her "From my Computer" contacts over to iCloud.
Have to say I'm a little confused.  I was hoping that we could keep the legacy relationship where my wife manually syncs her iPhone with Outlook / iTunes and then through iCloud have it backup whatever she pulls over from her Computer to the Cloud and then send it to all her devices (iPad in this case).
Any ideas for how I can acomplish this?
    Thanks,

I solved my problem eventually by getting all the devices - 2 iphones, the newish pc and the older Mac on icloud.
All media, calenders and messages were lost from the iphones, except for purchased itunes that I paid another $30 to Apple to save for me and also paid Appple some more to use icloud but the good news is I did save my contacts
I opened all of my contacts and pretty much had to edit and drag them over almost individually as they weren't all in some sort of configuration that Apple liked - i.e. if an email address ended in ch or es or de it might not be accepted as a properly configured vcard.
It would be nice if Apple made it a litle easier when you have older devices and need to get them in sync with newer ones.

  • Android device synching with iCloud Cal, Contacts & To-Do's?

NOTE: I am also looking on Android-specific websites/forums for answers, but there must be thousands of Mac users who are also Android users, and who have had similar questions.
I have an iMac, iPad(3), and iPhone G3. The iMac and iPad are synched via iCloud. The iPhone 3G, for reasons only Apple knows, can not. For cost reasons, I am soon moving from the iPhone G3 to a Motorola Atrix HD.
Can someone suggest methods to synch calendar, contacts and to-do data between iCloud and this Android device? Can I, for example, use a Google account, synch data betwen my Mac and Google's calendar and to-do's, then synch the Motorola to Google? Are there more straighforward methods?

I have not used icloud myself as i only have a macbook pro.
Calander sync: if you use google calander and import that into osx calander and android calander evertthing should be in sync. add an event to calander on osx it syncs to google calander then update the calander on android and they should be in sync.
Emails: with imap email account its easy. eg set up a gmail imap in osx mail it will sync with gmail. set up your gmail imap on your android device and everything will sync.
Contacts: using something like google contacts is a good idea. you can easily sync them to all os much the same as google calander and imap email.
To-Do Lists: using google tasks is a good idea for to-do lists, reminders etc.
Icloud alternitaves: there are my alternatives to icloud that are cross platform.  dropbox, shugar sync, google sync to name some. these work the same as icloud.   just install the app on each os and your up and running. you can sync much the same as icloud, music, emails, calanders, even files for sharing. etc. there is also a multi cloud service that can sync your different cloud servers together easily, its called cloud hq.
google is just one set of cloud apps, yahoo, windows live, and others provide similar services to google that i use.
my main computer is my macbook pro, I have an andrid phone, an old windows pc, and several linux os. using the above i can happily be in sync with everything.
also there are many cross platform applications you can use on all platforms that can make things easy.  firefox, chrome, opera (browsers), thunderbird (email), dropbox (cloud sync) etc etc it all depends on what you want to do, what you need etc.
ok thats enough rambeling for now hope this helps you in some way.

  • Accessing iCloud email and cal on PPC iMac

    Hi guys,
I know there are thousands of posts on the changeover at the moment, but I can't find any which seem to answer my problem.
I have an iphone 3GS, which I will be moving to OS5 later
I have an ipad 2, which I'll be moving to OS5 later
I have an iMac G5 PPC running Leopard - so I can't upgrade to Lion
I have a mobileme account, which I'll be moving across to iCloud... in the process losing my gallery :-(
Now... I understand to change over to iCloud I need to do this on an OS5 or Lion platform - so will do this on my iPad. But... presumably after this I can still access my email and calendars on my iMac, despite not running Leopard? What is the process for anyone on Leopard in getting access to their emails and calendar again?
The emails Apple have sent so far have given the impression that anyone with an old computer or platform is going to be left behind if they're not fully up-to-date. So would be good to hear that this is not the case. All I want to do is to be able to get my email and calendar syncing across all devices again, I don't care about photostreaming and all that jazz.
I can't find any support links which seem to answer this. Sorry if I've missed this!!
    Cheers,
    Sam

Well apparently you can get Mail to link up - see here
but iCal and Address Book will not sync on anything less than Lion :-(
To think they'd consider making these fundamental features backwards compatible...
    But no...

I've checked the settings on my iphone, on itunes, on icloud... nothing seems to fix this.

  • ICloud Cal not syncing iCal on iMac 10.8 Mountain Lion

I am routinely receiving an error: "The server is currently unreachable or its name is incorrect for “iCloud”. I have tried all the preliminary troubleshooting steps provided in the general and advanced Apple Support recommendations without positive result. So my Calendar on iCloud is up-to-date (I have been entering data there) but not pushing it out to desktop using Calendar 6.0. Any advice out there?
    Thanks.

Okay, I solved my own problem. Given that the error message was pointing to an erroneous address for my iCloud server, I opened my desktop Calendar > Preferences > Accounts. Once there I deleted the existing iCloud / CalDAV account. (Prior to doing this, of course, I made sure I had a recent backup of my calendar data.) Once the local calendars were removed, I created a new  account making sure to select iCloud under Account Type. I finished by typing in my iCloud account name and password and hit "Create" and, presto!, new CalDAV server address is shown on the screen and it pushes my iCloud calendars out to the desktop.
    Problem solved.
I hope this is of use to someone else who may experience the same problem.
