I-Cal Not Responding / Crashing

I keep on opening my i-cal & each time I try to edit one of the entries in one of my calendars or delete a calendar or a to-do then it crashes & I have to force quit. I sync my calendar regularly with my phone & I noticed some of the to-do's were corrupted today on there also.
In addition, about 20 new calendars have appeared on my i-cal this evening with no title or information in them & if I try to delete them then it crashes after deleting about 4. I am not sure what to do to fix this problem & I need my calendar as I use it everyday.
Help!

After updating to Firefox5.1, Nvidia kernal mode driver frequently "not responding & crashed then recovered", along with crashing of the Firefox browser.

I have the same problem. I just upgraded to Win 7, no problems. Then I upgraded to FF 4.0, and I kept getting Nvidia Video Card crashes. I always undo my last computer change/install when something like this happens, so I immediately uninstalled 4.0, and went back to my older version of Firefox. No problems ever since.

  • LabVIEW 2009 sp1 not responding / crash

    Hi,
I seem to have developed an issue with LabVIEW whereby it freezes at a random point during execution. It is not a case of a VI freezing, rather the LabVIEW application itself ceases to work and needs to closed by task manager. What I have running at the time is a host VI that sends and receives data over a TCP connection to a real-time target on a PXI. The real-time application keeps running after the crash. The host system is also running 3D picture control showing some basic graphics. The whole system is controlled at a top level by a program written in C#  over a TCP connection but can run stand alone. When running stand alone the problem does not occur.
The communication between the C# and LabVIEW works fine, yet at a random point during operation, LabVIEW freezes while the C# continues to work. This doesn't seem to correspond to a particular action by the C# program. I guess my question is, is there any likely culprit by which LabVIEW can be crashed by an exernal program where the only communication is via TCP that seems to work fine and where there doesn't appear to be excessive memory or CPU usage?
    Cheers.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Having further investigated it appears to only occur as TCP exchange is taking place and the full LabVIEW application doesn't appear to have crashed, but several VIs hang and can't be closed. There are three total TCP connections running, one that links to the PXI unit, one to the C# application and one from the C# to the visual display VI that is idle when this event occurs. Does anyone know of any reason why a TCP connection can cause LabVIEW to hang? The same connection has worked numerous times before the error occurs. Appears to only happen when the 3D picture control is running.

  • Not responding / crash while using proxy calendar

    Hi
On one station the GroupWise Client crashes often while using proxy calendars. The user opens a calender trough proxy access and klick on somme entries (days). The error is not reproducable - restarting the client and do the same klicks won't crash again.
Most of the crashes report this File: C:\PROGRA~2\Novell\GROUPW~1\gwclu.ocx

So this rather points to the user. So the next question is what
regular preventative maintenance do you have running?
What I typically set of customers is
    http://www.konecnyad.ca/andyk/gwmnt5x.htm
If you are already running the contents checks, then look at section of
the resulting logs for that user to see what errors are showing there.
Especially of note would be errors that are identical each time as they
indicate there is something that needs a bit of direct effort.
Also are there any error showing in the POA logs that coinside with
    these crashes?
Is it always the same calendar? Are others proxying into the same
    calendar?

  • Not responding / crashes when moving a svg textPath element

As of Firefox version 28.0 linking a textPath element to a path element in a svg and then moving the path makes the browser really slow and after a while it crashes.
This only happens when using the xlink:href attribute.
For an example using d3 javascript libarary see ( http://valtionbudjetti.fi )

  • My fix for Safari 5 beach ball, hang, not responding

    Hello,
So many people experienced problems with safari after upgraded to S5 and me too! Beach balls, not responding, crash, quitting, hang.. Etc. I tried clearing cache, reset safari, delete .plst, uninstall/reinstall safari all yield to similar problem.
Here's what i have done to fix mine.
For slow internet try to change your DNS to:
    *Google DNS*
    8.8.8.8
    8.8.4.4
    *Level3 Com DNS*
    4.4.2.1
    4.4.2.2
    OpenDNS
    165.21.100.88
    165.21.83.88
For safari frequent beach balls, hang or not responding.
    If beach ball occurs,
    1) open activity monitor (safari would be in red font and saying that "not responding)
    2) Don't quit your safari instead look for flash plugin that is running and try to quit that process.
    3) See if beach ball gone, if yes then problem could be your flash plugin.
    4) Go to Adobe site and download latest flash and test your Flash (+http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/+)
5)Try to test that macro media shockwave player if it works (+http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/+)
when i test mine it says that it run only in 32 bit mode so i turn my safari in 32bit and it able to display that logo which means its working.
So far i never encounter again beach balls(knock to the wood 3x) for a week of usage
I think turning safari to 32 bit mode solves my problem.
In windows7 machine i encountered internet explorer 64bit some pages also not able to display(but no hang) due to Flash player unable to support 64bit, need to run in 32 bit.
Hope my fix to my MBP can benefit others too...
or any of you out there can give or enlighten more on this issue?

    HI,
    crash
I think turning safari to 32 bit mode solves my problem.
If it turns out Safari crashes again, post a crash report.
If Safari has just crashed, press the Report button on the CrashReporter dialog box to view the crash information.
Now copy/paste the entire contents of the Crash Reporter window into your reply here. If the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder.

  • For the last 2 months I have had hours of FF not responding or crash - can't report it - this has reached the very annoying stage - a change is eminent

at first I was not to concerned because I was out of town using a Dell pc with windows (not a good experience) - it would stop and say"not responding" - sometimes up to 30 minutes before it would go again. It happened more and more - then it started with the CRASH message and it could not report the crash. then I came home for a couple days and it happened a couple times on my desktop - then I was out of town again - back to the dell - not responding and crashing made pc use impossible and I switched to phone and uspostal mail for three weeks. Now I am back home and was faced with the same problem - just not as severe - I took my pc in to the lab and had complete tuneup - cooling system taken apart cleaned and lubed - had new mother board installed - and ubuntu12.10 upgraded and installed - two time today "not repsonding" and then a FF CRASH and everything was lost.
For 2 years I have loved and promoted Firefox and finally got rid of WindowsXP a year ago and my pc became a real pleasure to use - Now I can not afford the time and money lost with this problem you are having and will have to change if it is not resolved.
Also - is the a alternative to Adobe Flash - its problems have also reached an intolerable state.
    Thank You, Ken Stelter

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.

    Hello.
Firefox accessed from doc & from Finder is not responding. Toolbar & FF (Firefox) browser window slowly opens to white unaccessible browser screen. Must force quit to close FF. Tested FF with different user on same computer and it works fine. Crash has been consistent & unchanged over the last 3 days.
Got lost in Library FF Profiles and could not locate the file that online support-thread said should be deleted. Did a Re-installed Firefox (tried anyway), dumped cache files and ALL plug-ins. Still FF (and Safari) would not open.
Safari browser was crashing at the same time and found that an alias needed to be place on Dock since the Dock link does not update like the Safari app link did in Finder. Safari is operational now.
Crash report is not appearing in FF crash report file only 1 months old crash report. Had no optionto send report to Firefox, but auto sent to Apple,
In added link = This is a copy/ past of "problem report"? automatically sent to Apple at each FF crash.
FF provided troubleshooting.xpi file will not open (no program to open with o Mac) and cannot access FF browser Help to provide further info.

Keynote Crashing - with Lion.   Most often when I switch out of Keynote to another program - Keynote freezes - says Application Not Responding.  If I save the Keynote before switching, it does not crash - only when it says it is an "edited" file....help

I posted this on another thread. See if this works:
    1) Uncheck "Backup previous version" in Keynote's Preferences.
    2) Make a duplicate copy of your file that has issues and save it.
    3) If you still get spinning wheels from switching between apps after editing or 10 seconds of inactivity, manually save with command+s. It may beach ball here but be patient and wait for it to finish! Try editing and resume doing work now.
Command+s may be a bit slow but I think that might be normal since the files are so big.
Good luck and let me know if this works.

  • Crash: "Elements 10 Organizer is not responding"

Elements 10 crashes EVERY TIME I try to use it.  I ge thte above error message and the screen freezes.  I tried removing and reloading the software, but the problem remained.  I have Vista, 32 bit.
Any ideas would be welcome.  Thanks.

    Hi Martin,
Let me see if I understand your problem:
OK, so the Organizer isn't "crashing" every time you "use" it.  It will open the old catalog without any error messages.  I assume you're using the "Thumbnail" view where you see all the images in the catalog.  (Is that right?)  It's when you attempt to scroll down through the displayed images that you get an "Organizer is not responding" error message.  You also get that error message if you highlight an image and select "Edit with Photoshop Elements".
Do I understand correctly what's happening?
If I've got all that right, it might be a system resources issue -- we'll need some more details:
The Organizer obviously worked in the past; when did you start getting the error?  By that I mean can you think of anything you did in the Organizer just before the errors started, such as importing videos, etc.?  Did you make any changes to your system, such as installing a new printer or updating the printer driver?
Do you have any of the Organizer's Media Analysis features enabled?  Are you using the Watch Folders function?
How many images are in your catalog?
Where are the actual images stored?  On your internal drive, or on an external drive, or on a network location?
How much RAM is installed on your computer?
How much free space is on your system (C:) drive?
Do you get that Organizer error even when you have no other applications running in the background?
    Added:
One quick and easy thing you can do is to use File...Catalog to open the Catalog Manager window.  Highlight your old catalog and hit the "Repair" button (choose "Repair anyway" if prompted).  When the repair finishes, repeat, this time hitting the "Optimize" button.  See if your old catalog works better.
