I Cal Sharing Calenders

I want to share calenders with my wife.  We both have I Cloud and seperate Apple IDs.  I have allowed her access on I Cal with read and write access but she still cannot see the Calender on the I Pad.  Please can someone help.  Thanks

There are a few of options I know about.
1. If you have a .Mac account you can sync using that.
2. iSynCal is a good, if manual, alternative.
http://ww2.unime.it/flr/isyncal/en/index.html
Leopard support is yet to come but I notice you are running Tiger so that should not be a problem. I used iSynCal for a time before I had a .Mac account to sync calendars across my home network and between iCal on different accounts on one computer.
3. I have not used it, but have a look at BusySync
http://www.busymac.com/
It shares calendars between user accounts, between Macs on a network, over the internet, and with Google Calendar.

  • "Outlook cannot perform search. Cannot display view." error coming up when searching shared calenders in Outlook 2010.

    Hi,
So I am having issues with the advanced find feature in Outlook 2010. When I goes to search a shared calender it gives me the "Outlook cannot perform search. Cannot display view." error. It is odd because it only does it with shared calenders
and only when a calender is selected. If I search my inbox it works fine. It also works fine when I first open Outlook and perform a search without selecting any calenders. If I select on it then gives me the error. I have tried resetting the views, I ran
cleanfinders and I went through this page (http://www.msoutlook.info/question/47) and rebuilt the index/scanned the pst/etc. Nothing seems to be working. I would appreciate some help if anyone knows why this would be happening.
    Thank you for your time,
    Gabe M.

Pst file size would not cause this and Outlook 2010 can have huge pst files as long as you use the new Unicode format.
If the problem is a corrupt view, cleanviews will clear it. I'm sure there are other causes besides corrupt views, but I can't think of any at the moment.
Does it work in Safe mode? To open Outlook in Safe mode: Close Outlook then hold Ctrl as you click on the Outlook icon. You'll get a message asking if you want to start in Safe mode. Click Ok.

  • Sharing calenders on one computer

My wife and I share a mac via Fast User Switching where I am the administrator. However, there doesn't appear a way for us to share our iCal information. We don't need to be able to write to the shared calenders (however, that would be nice). Is there some way to do this?

    Hi Dennis,
    Caution is always understandable.
Yes, this software is designed to be used with OS 10.4 and iCal 2 as well as OS 10.3 and iCal 1.5. I should point out that I have nothing to do with the author of this software, but it does work on my machine.
There are other ways of doing this. You could start webdav on your machine's Apache server and both subscribe to it locally (instructions - http://www.shawnwall.com/teach/webdav-ical.php ), or some people have got making symbolic links work. Both involve playing around in the Terminal. There is also .mac.

  • Shared Calenders in entourage

Can anyone help me I am running 10.5.8 OX with the latest software for the blackberry. I can sync all my calenders and contacts etc. The problem I would like resolved is that I have other shared calenders in entourage, that are managed by my entire office on a 2003 exchange server. I would like to sync the shared calender with my blackberry. Is there any way of doing this? Can anyone recommend a third party software or do I just have to wait until Microsoft release the MAPI support for the MAC. Is a POP account a better way to go?
    Any help appreciated
    Thanks

DL'ed the make Hyperlinks X2.2.1.sit file which shows up on my desktop but does nothing when you open it. Black page at best.
I don't understand what "Black page at best" is. Do you mean you couldn't open the download? The file is a Stuffit archive containing three files. They are:
    Make Hyperlinks Add-Remove X
    Make Hyperlinks ReadMe.rtf
    Make Hyperlinks X
If you can't open it, download the free Stuffit Expander. Drag and drop the downloaded file onto the Expander.
The instructions tell you to put the two script files in the Office folder. That's incorrect. They go in your home user account at ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Entourage Script Menu Items/. When you next launch Entourage, you'll see the two new scripts added to the list in the scripts menu bar item. That's the one next to "Help" that looks like a scroll of paper.
If you've already composed the email message as HTML, skip steps one and two.
    1) If you composed the email as plain text when you first run the "Make Hyperlinks X" script, it tells you that the file has to be in HTML format and saved first. Click OK to dismiss the error message.
    2) To change from plain text to HTML, click the ab_ab button.
    3) Run the "Make Hyperlinks X" script. You don't need to mark the URL in your email. The script will automatically looks for the first instance of text starting with http. You'll get a message asking if you're ready to send. Click Continue.
    4) It shows you what part of the text will be turned into a hyperlink. Enter the text you want the recipient to see. Click OK.
    5) Entourage may warn you that a script is running that may be potentially dangerous. You of course know it's running (you started it , so click Continue.
I've tried it on a few test emails and it works fine.

  • Sharing calenders in office enviornment

I have Mobile Me and use it at my office. I mainly use ical on my office mac and I would like to sync that calender with office mates who use outlook and ical. I have tried to create a calender, share it, send a subscription email to have them subscribe, but only seem to be able to see it and not edit or add events to it for me to see it.
What is the easiest way, through mobile me or otherwise (we all have exchange accounts) to share calenders that are editable with everyone.
    Thanks

I contacted mm chat about the subject and they informed me that in order to share the calender and have itbe editable, I would have to install mm prefs on the windows computers. I would need to login to mm and set up the calender that way. The problem is, I am not sure if they would also have access to my personal email. That's the only way they sai it would work with mm.
However I have exchange at work and my IT dept helped me set up sharing my calender with my exchange account. This works okay. Righ now it is set up so that it shares my main work calender with whomever I deem to need it. We can purchase another exchange account from our IT people that will only be a calender account so we can have a dedicated calender between all of us instead of one person having theirs be the one clogged with everyones events.
Hope this helps. Let know if you have further questions.

  • Cannot Download Shared calenders

I am new to Macs. Just got a Macbook. When I try to download a shared calender (US Holidays), I get the following message:
The page you opened redirected you to a page that isn't supported by safari.
How do I solve this problem?
    Thanks, Joe

I created a calender at home on the weekend, published to .mac and have now tried to sync at work to get the calender on my iCal at work, but it's not appearing. I also can't view my iCal calenders online which you are supposed to do using this URL...
    ical.mac.com/[membername]/[calendarname]
I assume it requires http:// in front of it, I've tried all sorts and it just reverts to my .mac home page. I'm also slightly baffled as to why iCal doesn't feature prominently within .mac, there's mail, address book, web gallery, etc but why not iCal calenders?
EDIT: I've just managed to get it working. The URL above doesn't require the http:// but puts it in anyway...

  • Windows Cal Sharing with Macs

I have a team of five members who all need to be on the same page as far as scheduling and communicating confirmed appointments. Three of us have MACS (Macs RULE!!!) and the other two members have PC's (PC's are such a pain in the A$$!!!).
Now obviously between the 3 of us, we can publish a shared calendar and subscribe to each other's Cals. But we're leaving two members out because they only have Outlook.
We cannot figure out how they can subscribe to our published calendars (via FTP server) and we also can't figure out how they can publish they're cals and To-Do's so that we can subscribe to it through iCal. Is this even possible? I'm sure with technology these days, it's gotta be! I don't suppose Thunderbird for PC has sharing/subscribing features, no?

I am trying to access the files on my Windows
machine. I try connecting and a message comes up that
    reads
"The Finder cannot complete the operation because
some data in smb://''''''' could not be read or
    written."
    (Error Code -36)
This is an authentication error usually caused by the XP PC not having a password and/or the XP firewall blocking the file sharing.

  • Icloud calender showing an hour's difference between two shared calenders

My icloud calender, shared with my boss, is showing the correct time at my end but his calender shows it as an hour later.
I have an LG desktop. The 'London Time' settings are correct on my computer and iphone (which is where my calender is linked to).  The times showing on my iphone are the same wrong ones showing up on his calendar so it's just my deskptop icloud calender showing the correct times.
    Any thoughts please
    Charlotte

Did you check System Preferences>Notifications for Calendars to make sure the Calendar Alert Style isn't set to None?
You might also want to check your calendar preferences on icloud.com to be sure "in-app notifications" is checked (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mma527d46).

  • Shared calenders sporadically disappeared

    Hi,
when I opened shared calendars from other users by clicking on "Open" -> "Other User's Folder" and left it open in the list without deleting it, I had to realize that the calendars sporadically disappeared from the list (1-2 times
    a year).
How can I prevent Outlook from removing shared calendars without any request?

    Hi,
Since it only happens 1-2 times a year, we cannot determine the root cause of the issue. The opened shared calendars info are stored in Outlook navigation pane settings, we may try to reset the navigation pane setting to check if it may fix the issue.
To do this, exit Outlook, press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type
    outlook /resetnavpane and press Enter.
Note: This switch clears and regenerates the Navigation Pane for the current profile, you will lost all custom navpane settings (including opened shared calendar list) after running this command. Additionaly, since this problem happens randomly and
happens after a long period, we cannot guarantee this command will fix the issue.

  • Sharing Calenders (via .Me) between a Mac and a PC? Is it possible?

I have a .Me account and my girlfriend has just bought a .Me account (or more accurately is using the trial version). I have a Mac she has a PC.
Is there anyway she can publish her Calendar via the iCal feature on the online cloud (i.e via the internet). If not is there a PC version of iCal so that she can publish it from her desktop?
What we are basically trying to do is get our calendars to show up on the other persons computer. If anyone knows if this is possible we'd love to know.
Fingers crossed she will hopefully buy a MacBook soon and this problem will be a thing of the past. Meanwhile any help with this query would be greatly appreciated.
    Richard

Should be easy on the Mac side, in System Preferences>Sharing, enable File Sharing & who can.
Once you set Folder Sharing on the PC side & add the Mac User as a PC user, then on the Mac...
    Finder>Go Menu>Connect to Server>Browse.
If they in fact do show up on the Desktop, then create a new Folder maybe named Shares on/in the Desktop, drag all those Shares shown on the Desktop to that Folder, drag that Folder to the right side of the Dock between Applications & Trash, this should give you a popup menu to select from.:-)
Mount that Share once, then once the Globe Icon shows up on the Desktop, drag that Globe Icon to the right side of the Dock between Applications & Trash. You now have a Dynamic Mount, a quick click on the Icon in the Dock will connect you.
    On the multiple Shortcuts...
Mount them all, when show up on the Desktop, then create a new Folder maybe named Shares on/in the Desktop, drag all those Shares shown on the Desktop to that Folder, (you can even rename them once there, if you wish), drag that Folder to the right side of the Dock between Applications & Trash, this should give you a popup menu to select from.:-)
To automount them, drag those Aliases to the Accounts Pref Pane's Login Items Window.

  • Sharing calenders through iCal in a LAN

    Hi,
I have open directory, web, DNS and ical services running on my 10.5.8 server. I want to share calender through iCal in my LAN. I need all my clients to view it. I am not able to do it..
    Any help appreciated..
    Thanks in advance..

I bought and have used BusySync with great success http://www.busymac.com/
My only caveat is that I've had problems recently that are probably due to the fact I've also installed Appigo Sync, and with syncing via MobileMe I may have had too many cooks in the kitchen.
