I cal synch

I imagine this has been beat to death.. but I cannot figure it out! ( I am computer illiterate I guess!) I cannot get my ical to snch with my laptop.
I CAN get my laptop i cal to synch to my phone, but if I enter something in my phone it stays there... please in simple terms for simple ol me!

iPhone's Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > iCloud > Calendar ON?, also check Default Calendar > which calendar are you using (hint: should be iCloud calendar not iphone local calendar)
In Calendar app, tap Calendar button (top left), is All iCloud as well as the Calendar on iPhone checked?

Nokia N95 i-cal synching issue

I have latest isynch and downloaded the patch from nokia and have successfully synched my phone and ical/contacts (I was using calendar on phone not i-cal)
However, for some reason, it has deleted my old calendar appointments w/c 19 May (when I started using the calendar on my phone) to 5 July on my phone though they are now safely imported into my i-cal.
I did not want it to do this. I have looked through the i-synch options and there do not seem to be any options that wold have caused this.
Can anyone help please?

Can you tell me how you got your N95 to sync with iCal/contacts? I am going mad here trying to get mine to do that. I have the latest download from nokia and isync and everytime i try to find the phone it just says isync can't support this phone. Any help would be welcome

TS1906 Help! I am losing my Ical events

Can anyone tell me why I am repeatedly losing events I have entered on Ical? Since I enter events both from my phone and Imac and I can't tell whihc events are getting lost. I renetered events and backed them up. However, when I restore the back-up calendar, it loses the event s again immediantly. Someone please help me! Emily

I just entered an appoint for this coming thursday at 8 AM on my Mac Mini with OS 10.7.5. Within 5 minutes without closing iCal the appointment disappeared. I have noticed this before.
Then I noticed that an appointment for Jan 9th had disappeared. I opened my iPhone 4 with the most recent OS upgarade and as i watched Cal synch on the iphon the appointment disappeared right before my eyes!
Gonna try the icloud troubleshooting but this is not good!

Synching Treo 600 with I Cal alters meeting time by one hour?

When preforming a synch with I CAL, all meeting times, Flight times etc were moved back one hour! Having now manually corrected the Schedule on the TREO what can I do to prevent this from recurring the next time I synch with Ical? Can I make the Treo Schedule override the now incorrect times on ICAL?

Time zone issues have always been a pain in the you know what.
Here is what the guys at Mark/Space gave me a long time ago. Maybe it will work with your situation.
Ho Boy do I hate those 1 hour off time shift (ST-DT) issues, they are my worst nightmare. Because it is always a case by case solution, never got a single solution to work twice.
So I will have to give you my check list, so you can go throuth it. The big picture is, making some backups, reset the pram on the Mac. Do the check list, finally do an overwrite of the handheld with the desktop data.
Here we go.
Do some backups first by following those simple steps
1. Go to Address Book, click on 'File' menu and choose 'Back up Address Book'. Go to iCal, click on 'File' menu and choose 'Back up database'.
2. Go to Missing Sync and double click on the Backup Conduit and set it to backup all databases. Then run the sync with just that Backup conduit selected, disable all other conduits.
3. Go to: /Users/<user name>/Documents/Palm/Users/<hotsync name>/ now hold the 'ctrl' key and click on the /Backups/ folder. Choose the option to 'Create Archive of "Backups"'. This is to safeguard your backed up data in case anything goes wrong.
Reset PRAM
Shut down your computer, as soon as you start your computer press and hold command-option-P-R keys simultaneously until you hear the chime start up sound 3 times. Then let go of the keys.
Support Reps and Engineers have met over this issue of Time Zones. There are some grey zones that still need to be addressed, either by us, Apple's iCal team or Palm.
Here is a list of items that you need to verify or correct.
1) Launch iCal, in the iCal menu go to Preferences, in the toolbar, click "Advanced", make sure that "Turn on time zone support" is unchecked.
2) On your device, launch you calendar, menu Preferences, uncheck "New events use time zones".
3) Check for new firmware updates available for your device. http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/
4) Verify your location and time. (Ex: if your location is not listed in the selections you can add it).
To add your location, tap location, go to "edit list", in the new window tap "add", you will see a list of Cities, go down the list to "Your Location" and add it to the your list.
5) On your Mac, in the System Preferences, open the Date & Time pane, check your "Time Zone". Make sure that it is the same as your Treo.
6) On your device, tap on the TimeCopy application use the drop-down menu to select Option and then Preference, you can modify to "Update" at Local time only.
7) If you are using third-party Calendar applications (such as DateBK 5, Agendus etc.) consult your user documentation or contact the appropriate technical support representative.
Go to iCal, click on 'File' menu and choose 'Back up database'. Modify the name of the backup so that it won't overwrite the one you did earlier.
I suggest that you 'Reset Sync History' using the iSync preferences option. The first sync will likely be slower.
1) Launch iSync
2) Click on the iSync menu
3) Choose Preferences (make sure the "Enable syncing on this computer" is checked)
4) Click the 'Reset Sync History' button. Read and follow the onscreen directions.
5) This may launch iCal. Also the status of the reset is showing in the iSync display. When the reset is complete quit both iSync and iCal.
Launch Missing Sync and enable the Mark/Space Contacts, Events and Tasks conduits and set them to Desktop overwrite Handheld. Disable all other conduits.
Then sync, when you do, you will get a dialog box with an orange iSync icon on it. Check the box to erase the device, then click the 'Allow' button. It will overwrite your device. You will get one for events, one for tasks, and one for contacts. The next time you sync .mac or other devices that sync with iSync like an iPod, you will get these same dialog boxes for their databases and you should check the box and click 'Allow' in those cases as well.

Android device synching with iCloud Cal, Contacts & To-Do's?

NOTE: I am also looking on Android-specific websites/forums for answers, but there must be thousands of Mac users who are also Android users, and who have had similar questions.
I have an iMac, iPad(3), and iPhone G3. The iMac and iPad are synched via iCloud. The iPhone 3G, for reasons only Apple knows, can not. For cost reasons, I am soon moving from the iPhone G3 to a Motorola Atrix HD.
Can someone suggest methods to synch calendar, contacts and to-do data between iCloud and this Android device? Can I, for example, use a Google account, synch data betwen my Mac and Google's calendar and to-do's, then synch the Motorola to Google? Are there more straighforward methods?

I have not used icloud myself as i only have a macbook pro.
Calander sync: if you use google calander and import that into osx calander and android calander evertthing should be in sync. add an event to calander on osx it syncs to google calander then update the calander on android and they should be in sync.
Emails: with imap email account its easy. eg set up a gmail imap in osx mail it will sync with gmail. set up your gmail imap on your android device and everything will sync.
Contacts: using something like google contacts is a good idea. you can easily sync them to all os much the same as google calander and imap email.
To-Do Lists: using google tasks is a good idea for to-do lists, reminders etc.
Icloud alternitaves: there are my alternatives to icloud that are cross platform. dropbox, shugar sync, google sync to name some. these work the same as icloud. just install the app on each os and your up and running. you can sync much the same as icloud, music, emails, calanders, even files for sharing. etc. there is also a multi cloud service that can sync your different cloud servers together easily, its called cloud hq.
google is just one set of cloud apps, yahoo, windows live, and others provide similar services to google that i use.
my main computer is my macbook pro, I have an andrid phone, an old windows pc, and several linux os. using the above i can happily be in sync with everything.
also there are many cross platform applications you can use on all platforms that can make things easy. firefox, chrome, opera (browsers), thunderbird (email), dropbox (cloud sync) etc etc it all depends on what you want to do, what you need etc.
ok thats enough rambeling for now hope this helps you in some way.

IPhone 4 cal will not synch to Exchange server

After updating both iPhone 4 and iPad2 with most recent software the my calendars were wiped clean and will not synch to Exchange server

ICal is no longer synching events

My wife has an iCloud account where all of her calendars are stored. I subscribe to them and receive them on my iphone and MacBook through iCal. When trying to update her calendar on my MacBook Pro, I get the following error : There was an unexpected error with the request (domain CalCalendarStorePersistenceErrorDomain / error 1550 / description 'Events cannot have multiple exceptions for the same date.'). The MBP synchs her other calendars fine and all other devices synching to all the calendars do not have this problem (making me think it's computer specific). I have a 17" MacBook Pro running 10.7.5.

the same is happening to me.
All my cals have been syncing just fine. Upgraded my iphone os5. upgraded lion on laptop. And for some reason, now i'm opening ical today and trying to edit, i am suddenly getting URL errors. Also i cannot find a way in the new ical (with lion) to unsubscribe from things.
My iphone seems to be updating ok as it's syncing from the google cal server... but if i want to add or edit anything to my google cals in ical, it's not letting me do anything.
Any ideas anyone ?

Synching issues between Palm Desktop 4.1.2 and Sun ONE Synch 1.1p2

This has been vaguely mentioned in a thread elsewhere. I thought I'd document my issues for anyone else searching.
Downloaded and isntalled PD 4.1.2. Synched fine with my Palm Vx.
Installed Sun's synch software 1.1p2. Synched with Calender Server. Synch between Palm and Calender directly failed. Synch between PD and Cal server appeared to go through, but nothing actually synched.
After this, synching between Palm and PD began to go wrong - date book wouldn't be synched, then tasks stopped, progressively getting worse.
Reinstlaled PD 4.1.4 and Palm and PD could synch again.
Uninstalled PD 4.1.4, installed an older version, 4.1, found on CNET's download site. Reinstalled Synch software, everything now synchs fine.
Thank God for that!

4.1.4 was originally designed for Palm OS 4.x devices, while 4.2 and 4.1.4e (Extended) were designed for PalmOS 5.x devices using the new PIM programs (Contacts and Calendar vs. Address Book and Datebook).

Synching with ical and outlook?

Hi, just wondering if it's possible to synch my iphone 4 cal with my work (PC) MS outlook cal? I can send all my appointments to myself at home and then manually add them into ical & do it that way, but that seems clumsy.
Can I synch to two different systems?

the changes are coming through. Cal/ contacts are fine.

Have you tried a soft-reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Share iCal cals with someone who doesnt have mobileme

I want to to share my cals with her and she wants to share hers with me, both macs but only one mobileme acct. Can we do this? Yes? then how do we keep it private and not open on the web? thanks!

This solution will work. Just make sure you turn OFF all other synching (contacts, bookmarks, preferences, keychains, etc.) Otherwise you and your friend will have merged contacts, keychains, etc. She will also have access to your MobileMe email as well.
Another way to do this is through Google. Set up Google Calendars (two gmail accounts). Then give access to each other via Google Calendar Settings.
Import your mobileme calendars into Google through the Google interface.
Once complete, download Calaboration from Google Code. http://code.google.com/p/calaboration/
Use Calaboration to set up your Google Calendars in iCal.
You will then be able to view each others calendars without sharing them with the world.
My wife and I have MobileMe accounts but have migrated to Google Calendar for the added security.

How can i sync my android x2 cal with ical (phone's calendar not Google's calendar)?

I have an Android (DX2) phone. Need calendar entries to synch between phone and macbook pro. Not Gmail's calendar but rather the phone's own calendar. The phone gives a choice of both calendars and I want to avoid posting to Google's cal.

Assuming you can sync your android calendar over the air with a Gmail account, you can do the same with a Gmail account on an iPad that is created as an Exchange account. The same for syncing Google contacts.

I cloud and Synching issues

Ever since the I cloud started my wifes I phone and Mine are blending each others information. All her contacts and mine are mixed togehter. I have tried syching my phone and all the calander info will not load into I Cal. I have shut down the I cloud and dont want to use it. I want to go back to the tradtion synch but I get get anything to synch properly.
We each have a seperate user log in to get our I Calander seperate and not mix. Any help will i will take this is very frustrating.

Tasks re-sorting in the MPP file when synching with SharePoint task list

When synchronizing the MPP file with the ShPt task list, we have seen tasks re-sorting in the MPP file. Very annoying, especially with schedules with a large number of tasks. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this issue, and if you
could point me in the right direction for solving it. FYI, listing below my signature the columns we are synchronizing (in case you know of an issue with one or more of these).
FYI, we are using MS Project 2013 Pro and SharePoint 2010. We tried using the synch feature with MSP 2010 and it did not seem to be available.

The resource is created as a new resource with no security group and no loggin account, meaning it is strictly a resource and not a user. So this resource can be assigned on others projects but cannot connect to PS in any way (thus does not consume a CAL)
unless you convert it into a user by adding a valid account and a security group.
