  • Calendar - repeating events

Hi - I set up annual events in my calendar by setting annual repeats. I am syncing with Outlook. After doing this, most of my annual events now repeat every day, until 2028... these are events that are set to 'all day' so they end up being all day, every day, for 20 years! When I set them up they are all day, for one day, with an annual repeat - it is just after syncing that it seems they become all day, every day, for 20 years.
    Any assistance?
    Francois

Interestingly they do no show up as daily events in Groupwise or Outlook which correctly displays them as annual events - anyone else setting up annual events in Groupwise/Outlook that have no specific time/all day events, experiencing similar issues?

  • Treo 755P Calendar repeating events being mysteriously deleted

For some reason I can no longer create an event that repeats weekly or every other week. I can create an event that repeats daily but when I change to weekly or every other week the event is deleted. This just started happening a few days ago. I tried backing up, then doing a hard reset then reinstalling just my contacts and calendar and the same thing keeps happening. Has any one else experienced this? Please don't tell me the only solution is a hard reset and manually entering all of my calendar events past and future.
    Thanks

Post relates to: Treo 755p (Sprint)

Well, not to split hairs, but the actual issue is with the fact that apple does not sync properly with Treo's using the native iSync application. Due to the known issue, Apple itself pimps The Missing Sync as a "Productivity Tool." http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/productivity_tools/
Due to this fact I was hoping for a response from someone here who could help me with this.
I will certainly look around in the Mark Space forum; however, if anyone here could help me i would really appreciate it.

  • ICal Group Calendars Repeating Events

Is it really true that group calendars can't have repeating events? If you add an group account in iCal and then take events from the Group calendar and make them repeating they do not show up in the web calendar.
Is Apple telling up that standing weekly or monthly meetings for a workgroup are "a bad thing"?

I have finally got Leopard Server Advanced up and running with Open Directory, iCal Server, Wiki Server and DNS. I haven't tried my luck on anything else because my experience is that once you break something there is no way to fix it other than a clean install!
Now I find that repeating events don't show up in the web calendar? Obviously this product was not ready to be released. I am hoping that after a couple of more point releases, maybe by 10.5.5, this will finally be stable and feature complete.
It has a long way to go before it lives up to its hype. It does have potential though so I am willing to hang in there.

  • Need a new Calendar 'Repeat Event' option

The most common 'Repeat Event' option that I use is for meetings best described as "The second Thursday in each month" or "The third Wednesday of each month".
I can find no way to enter this repeat.
I am using the iPhone Calendar as my sole Calendar. (I.e. I do not synch it to a PC Calendar.)
Can anyone tell me how to enter such a repeat? Thanks.

As Ian said, it cannot be done on the iPhone, but if you are synced to anothyer calendar with that capability, such as Outllok, then you do it there and the dates sync across.
You can also request that Apple consider implementing the feature by going here http://www.apple.com/feedback/

  • When I try to delete events on my iPhone calendar, the event momentarily disappears, but comes back within a second.

    The title says it all.
I'm having my iphone calendar sync with my google calendar. I had a repeating event that I tried to delete - I tried deleting both just this event, as well as trying to delete all future events, but either way, the event is only temporarily deleted. It disappears for a bit, but reappears almost instantaneously.
    Any ideas?

To make sure that this is not software related, set it back to factory settings, without using any backup data afterwards. Set up the rest of the personal settings manually and test the camera. If it still does not work, this is a hardware issue and the phone has to be serviced by Apple or an Authorized Apple Service Provider:

  • . How do I get a repeating event which I did not create off my iCal?

I have a repeating event that I was an invitee to forever lodged in my iCal . I didn't create it, I have no access to edit it. I want to permanently delete it but how?

There is an app that allows this - called Forward My Meeting.  It allows you to forward any meeting in your calendar from the iPhone or iPad.
I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link.

  • Can I switch calendars (Ex. "night shift" to "day shift" cal) with a repeating event, but ONLY for that one event??  It asks "for all events or only this event" if i change the time.  But it changes ALL events when i try and switch calendars.  Any help??

I have 2 calendars set up for my work schedule, a "night shift" and "day shift" calendar.  I've set up repeating events fro Fri/Sat/Sun 3-11pm "night shifts" and Mon/Tues 7am-3pm "day shifts".  But lets say for example that I swap shifts and instead of working nights on Saturday like I normally would, I am now working days.  I want to change that in my calendar.  When I go to change the event, if i change the TIME it asks if i want to change all event or ONLY this event.  no problem....just this single event.  but when i go to change the event from the "night shift" calendar to the "day shift" calendar, it changes ALL the repeating events, and not just that one single event.   can anyone help with this???  am i doing something wrong?  is there a way to do this or not with the new iCal program???  i used to do this and never had any problems.    Thank you!

You need to follow iPhoto terms since we only know what you tell us
what are you calling folders - in iPhoto folders can not hold photos - albums hold photos and folders hold albums or other folders
The basic default view of photo is by event (iPhoto '08 and later)
Exactly what you you trying to do?

  • A Calendar event that is to repeat N times sometimes need to be specified as repeating N 1 times

Under Mountain Lion, iCal's successor, Calendar, doesn't always handle repeating events correctly.
If I want an event to repeat every week for N weeks, sometimes I need merely fill in Stop After N Times.
But sometimes I have to fill in Stop After N+! times.
There's some code somewhere that is having trouble crossing month boundaries as it counts the recurrences of the event.
Any work-arounds (other than noticing the problem and changing the count)?

No one here would be privi to Apple's plans on the matter. Submit your feedback to Apple requesting such a feature:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback
In the interim, there is a reminder program for pretty much every need and taste in the App Store.

  • Sync events that repeats every TWO years on the Google Calendar

syncing every event that occurs every two year on the google calendar it is repeated yearly on the iphone calendar app.
but the odds doesn't stop here: if you look into the event detail (on the iphone) it reports "custom : every two year"!
    any idea for resolve this?
    thanks to all

here`s some more complete information from my client
    - User, in Lotus Notes, uses the agenda and select "Create" "Appointment" instead of "plan a meeting"
in the appointment, she repeats every 2 weeks.
after replication, it does show on the blackberry
When the User add comments in 1 appointment and save the changes, after replication, all the repeatable appointment disapear from the blackberry in the calendar.
I have tried it on my blackberry ( Curve) and did not have that problem.

  • Calendar 7.0 does not alert me on monthly repeating  events

SInce upgrading to an Intel Core i5 desktop running OS 10.9.2, my calendar does not alert me
to monthly repeating events. Especially irritating because I rely on it to pay my bills on time.
Checking settings today, I notice that Alerts is only set to my iCloud account. But both
iCloud and my email are listed under 'accounts.'
After resetting alerts to 'I tried switching off the iCloud account but on reopening
Calendat it defauled to iCLoud again. I tried switching off iCloud but then ALL my
Calendar listings disappeared! So obviously my Calendar sits on iCloud but refuses
to alert me to monthly events.
    Help!
    Thanks,
    Ramon

I just successfully created an event called "Good Saturday" for today (Saturday).  It was not a day long event - only an hour long event.
I created a "Good Saturday" day long event for next Saturday and that succeeded.
So I conclude the issue you are seeing must be with the calendar account(s) you are using.
I also run the same build of calendar you have.

  • In repeating events , in the calendar app of Iphone or Ipad,

In repeating events , in the calendar app of Iphone or Ipad, How can I stipulate for egsample: "every second tuesday of the month " or even every last monday of every second month..
These selections work in the Google Calendar. but I cannot find the way to do it in the standard ipad or iphone calendar
all I can find to select are "Monthly , weekly , . I want to be able to select "day of the week " or "day of the month" Thanks ,
    Victor

The iPhone/iPad version of iCal doesn't have this option, but the Mac desktop version does (assuming you use a Mac). Follow the directions below and then sync your device with your Mac and the repeating event will appear in your mobile device.
Open iCal on the desktop. Make a new event. Double click on the event and then click "edit." Change the repeat option to "Custom..." Select frequency as "monthly." Click the bottom radio button that says "on the" to enable you to set which day to repeat on. Close the event info window and then sync your device.
I hope they enable this option in the mobile software soon. It is a glaring omission for a calendar program.
P.S., sorry, I just noticed you didn't include a Mac in your hardware list. I don't know how you'd accomplish this with Windows. Maybe this post will help someone else, though.

  • Can I add non regular repeating events in the default Calendar?

    Hello,
I've recently been using the Calendar app to try to keep track of my increasingly hectic work schedule. One of my jobs is easy to add as it's on the same day each week, so I can just use the repeating events menu. The other two can be any day of the week, but always the same hours, so if I'm cleaning it's always 8.30 to 14.30, but it can Monday, Wednesday and Thursday this week, Tuesday and Thursday the next, just Monday the next, you get the idea.
What I'd like to do is to be able to add an event called 'cleaning' or 'bar work' to a specific day and have the calendar know that means it needs to block off 8.30 to 14.30 or 20.00 to midnight. It can take me 15 minutes some weeks to enter my work schedule into my phone as it is, and if I'm interrupted while I'm doing it then I have no idea which days I haven't entered yet.
Is this something I can do in the Calendar app? If not, is there another app I can do this in, or at least cut the process down in some way? I've tried looking at other calendar apps, but it doesn't seem to a feature they advertise if they do have it.
    Thanks in advance

  • Create Repeating Event in Calendar

I work rotating shifts and can’t figure out how to enter my schedule on my Touch with the current Calendar application.
With my palm-top computer I simply created events titled: Day1, Day2, Day3, Mid1, Mid2, & Mid3. Each of these events were created as repeating events — repeating daily every twelfth day. Then I created Off1, Off2, & Off3 as repeating events — repeating every 6th day.
Or another example would be Mother’s Day. It would be nice to be able to create an event that repeats monthly every 12mo (2nd Sunday of every 12th month).
Is there any way to do something similar that I’m overlooking?
    Any assistance would be appreciated.
I'd also like to be able to synchronize with my Google calendar.

I don't know that it can be turned off, and I don't even use Apple's Calendar much (as a BusyCal user), but you might find it's useful if you learn to use it as intended. That box is pretty smart if you mention the date and location in the box before hitting enter.
Just type the date, time, and place in that "title" box:
"Birthday party Friday 8:00 PM at Joe's Place"
That pops up an event with a start date of the next Friday (e.g., 10/05/2012 today in the US), start time of 8:00 PM, and "Joe's Place" in the location. It strips out the date and time before creating the event title that it pops up; it leaves the location in the title, but the title comes up selected so you can edit it before confirming the event with the "Done" button.
The event is entered in the default calendar, but you can select any calendar by holding down the "+" button a second or two. There may be a way to do it with the menu or the keyboard command-n shortcut, but I haven't found it; you can select another calendar on the popup before hitting the "Done" button.

  • Changing calendar in repeated events

    Hi,
I am trying to find a way to cross out one of the repeated events without deleting it. This would help me to mark events that did not happen and would have to be rescheduled in future. I also tried creating one separate calendar for cancelled events, but instead of changing only one event in a series of repeated ones, it changes all of them.
I'd appreciate any advise on this - is this possible in iCal? Perhaps there is a separate extension or a plug in for this?
    Thanks

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
When you try to alter a single event in a series, you should be asked whether you want to make the change to just this single event - or to all events after that date. Choosing only this event should alter just that one.
This should also work if you try to delete a single event from a series, but you won't be able to move a single event from a series into another calendar - that WILL move the entire series.
There's no way that I know of to 'cross out' the event, but you could change the event title to "CANCELLED <event title>" or something else that suits you.
