I can barely hear my ringer or Siri with my volume set all the way up.

I can barely hear my ringer and it's turned all the way up. I can't hear Siri at all but I can visually see that it's working. The ringer is completely silent when I turn the volume down two bars.

Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. If that doesn't work, create a backup then restore AS NEW. If it still doesn't work after restoring & wiping everything off, take it to an ARS or call tech support to get it replaced. Congrats on the first iPhone. This is not normal. First check if moving the volume up or down either way has any impact on the sound. Then see what happens while on speakerphone. If you can hear ok on speakerphone, and there's no change from the regular earpiece with the volume changing, check with the carrier you received it from or the Apple store you purchased from. They will have other things to look at for you.

If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.

I just downloaded my Leopord onto my Macbook and I can't get into my Gmail account. It almost loads all the way and then stops. Also Facebook wont load all the way or keeps reloading and wont stop. The whole page never loads.

Ok, first thing, why are you doing anything with WAMP or XAMPP when you're running a Mac? MAMP should be what you want unless you're not explaining part of what you are trying to do.
2nd thing, I haven't used MAMP in a while, but there are two possibilities for not seeing what you want to see once you have MAMP turned on. One possibility is that you already have "Web Sharing" turned on in your Sharing Preference Pane. If that is the case, port 80 will already be taken and you'll be seeing the default Apache install (files are stored at /Library/WebServer/Documents/). This would push MAMP to either not turn on it's web serving capabilities, or to push it to another port. The other possibility is that MAMP defaults to another port anyway. So instead of localhost, you might have to type in localhost:8080 or something similar. I believe the control panel that gets installed can take you to the currently MAMP-served page, and it can also help you change which port your serving on.
80 is the default port for web serving and the ONLY port that will let you get straight to the server without having to type in webaddress.com:port# instead of just webaddress.com.

I just bought a $50 mic at radio shack. It's hooked up and working but even with the volume turned all the way up, I can only hear and record my voice if I put my mouth on top of the mic and scream. And even at that it's barely audible. Ahy help?

You may be actually hearing the built in microphone. Make sure the line in is selected in both the Audio Midi Setup Utility and in the Garageband prefs.
Audio Midi Utility Setup:
*Open the Audio Midi Setup (It is in your utilities folder)
*Select 'Sound in' instead of 'built in' in the pull-down menu.
*drag the Input volume slider to set the input level.
Garageband Setup:
*Open Garageband
*In the Garageband menu select 'preferences'
*Click on the the Audio/Midi icon.
*Select Sound in from the input pull down menu.

HT3576 Can you get sound notifications for mail and iMessage with the new iPad. Under general sounds I have a sound selected for both of those. My volume is turned all the way up but I still don't get sound notifications with these apps. Suggestions?

I have sound turned on under general> sounds. The volume is all the way up and I can hear it when i adjust it. However under notifications sound is not an option for mail or iMessage. Just badges and alerts. Both of which are on. I would really like to hear my notifications. Any suggestions.

I am simply lookig for some help not an argument. I am not an RF specialist however have setup a few wireless networks in my tenure at Wynn Resorts. I fully agree that wireless networking is an art and a science however the powers that be in Network Land have toughted wireless networking is the easiest and quickest way to get two computers to talk with one another. As I previously said I have already turned one (1) MBP in for this problem and Apple decided to replace it because they could not fix the problem with my particular MBP. This MBP was running Leopard when the problems started
I am having a hard time believeing that there are several other devicces in my home that depend on a wireless network to operate and my MBP is the only one having an issue. I took this a step further and decided to see what would happen if I tried to connect wirelessly via Fusion. In Windows 7 I am able to print and scan to my hearts content without any issues. I am able to browse the internet as much as I want. I close Fusion and try to connect to my printer via wireless and nothing.
In order to get Apple to help do I need to get a Network Analyzer and capture packets when I have these problems? Out of the 1000 + posts is there a consolidation of which answer is the best? BTW I am accessing the internet via a wireless connection using Fusion and Windows 7.
In response to Linc's comments, I will look at the router specifications however I did not qualify that these devices are not using the wireless connection at the same time. Right now I would guess there are maybe two (2) or three (3) at the most that are actively transmitting / receiving information. -- Thanks

I can barely hear callers, bars frequently X-ed out, showing no Sim card

Just recently I can barely hear the caller on my Droid DNA. I have not damaged my phone in any way. Also it starts showing no SIM card. I will restart and then that will fix itself but the volume for the caller barely exists. My volume is turned up. I have no problem hearing ring tones, etc and people can hear me. Also my bars will sometimes just x out and I have to reboot again. I am sick of not being able to hear my callers. Help!!!!

A few things to try:
Remove the SIM and reseat it, then restart the phone.
Go to a Verizon store and have them replace the SIM with a new one (it's free)
Try a system cache clear (instructions below)
Set your preferred Network mode to LTE/CDMA
System cache clear:
Power down phone
Hold volume up/down & power simultaneously until you see the Boot Mode Selection Menu
Use volume down to navigate to 'Recovery', use volume up to select
Should see screen with triangle and exclamation point next to an Android
Press volume up/down simultaneously to go into system recovery
Use volume rocker to navigate to 'wipe cache' and use power button to select
Once finished, use volume rocker to navigate to 'reboot system now' and use power button to select

Very Low Volume on Phone Calls - Can barely hear the other person

Just picked up my iPhone 4 at the Apple Store. Tried to make a phone call the the call volume is so low I can barely hear the other person calling.
The speaker volume is not much better. The other person can hear me fine and says the sound is great.
The volume dots are all the way up.
The settings sound voulme under ringer is all the way up.
ipod volume lock is not activated.
Any other settings to check out?

OK now I don't feel like I'm the only one. I've also done a hard reset and still suffer from the same issue.

In other phones, you can hear the phone ringing and if it was connected to bluetooth, you could pick up the call from the bluetooth headset.
Here with iphone, if its connected to bluetooth headset, it only rings through the headset, which means that if you dont have the headset in the ear all the time, you cannot know that you have an incoming call or message.
Any ideas - solutions - comments please?

I'm having the same problem. I had a plantronics 975 (which I lost, sadly). When connected, the ringer would always be routed through the bluetooth and the iPhone's external speaker. When in silent mode, the iPhone would only vibrate, but I could still hear the ringer in the bluetooth.
I just bought a new Plantronics Voyager+. Now when it's connected, all sounds are routed to the earpiece - including the taps, etc. The iPhone's speaker doesn't ring at all, unless the bluetooth is disconnected or powered off. How come some podcasts are loud while others I can barely hear?

I enjoy listening to podcasts while at work. I work in a place that does not allow head phones nor does it allow for a stereo. I use a small iHome speaker. The Red Eye Radio podcast has a perfect volume level, while the Billy Cunningham podcast, Bill Burr, and Stuff you should Know podcasts can barely hear at full volume. How come the volume is so different from show to show. Can't there be some kind of podcast/broadcast standard. I enjoy all these programs but find myself only listening to the ones I can hear.
