If someone's phonig me, my Iphone doesn't ring and the caller is directed to my voicemail. My sim does work in my old Nokai e 75. Any suggestions?
Thank you for your reply, but that is not the kind of "ring" problem I meant. The phone does not ring in the sense that no "number or connection" that is trying to reach me is shown in the display; the phone does not "connect"(telefoon gaat niet, er is geen verbinding tot stand gekomen, en bellers krijgen mijn voice-mail)

You aren't attached to a bluetooth headset or other device for some strange reason? Or even an automobile bluetooth, I have a friend that has this issue with his Prius because even when it is not running the bluetooth is still active and connects to his phone.

I can call other people on facetime and reach them but if they call me it doesn't ring. What do I change I my strings to get it to ring. If they call me first, I can see the call coming in and accept it but it doesn't ring.

Can call out but not receiving calls
I can call out to any number but when you dial the phone number(yes it is the right #) it says phone not in service.
We have had the same problem for almost a year now. We can call out, and the number is correct. Cannot receive any calls, message says number not in service. Meanwhile I have to pay both AT&T and Comcast so I don't lose my number. When I call Comcast I am told the problem is not on their side. I will be calling the Illinois Commerce Hotline and filing a complaint against Comcast. I have asked for a credit on my bill, since I am not receiving the service I am paying for, and no response from Comcast. Maybe a lawsuit is in my future for failure to provide services that were paid for.

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

I have spent hours on the phone with Apple and AT&T. I went thought reset, on/off, etc, etc with both companies to no avail. Each company pointed fingers at the other....as being the source of the problem.
Problems: Suddenly ALL incoming calls were going directly to VM with no signal I missed calls and/or had VM. I was also unable to receive all Text Messages...Oddly, I could send text messages to anyone (even non-apple users but I could not receive their responses)........then I when I got home I started receiving text messages from other apples users ONLY. I assume now - iMessage kicked in and I could text (send/receive) other iPhone/iPad/iTouch users ONLY. ....yes, I could still (send) text messages to my husband's blackberry (he received my messages fine) but my phone would NOT receive his text respones.
Finally, I googled the problem and found this community where other people have had the exact same problems! One person said he "turned off 3 G" which was the solution for him....so I did the same and VIOLA! My problem solved! Nevermind the fact that I pay for 3G and cannot use it....so here's my question, if 3G is the problem on my phone is this an APPLE issue or a NETWORK problem? Do I purchase a new phone and slip in my same SIM card and hope the same does not occur or do I get a whole new SIM card and phone? What is the long term resolution to this problem?
I am happy however to find that my problem is NOT an isolated incident and wish Apple or AT&T had told me this is not so uncommon because I thought (based on the baffled response from Apple) that this has never occurred before. Where is Steve Jobs when we need him?jsavage9621,

Because your problem remains after restarting, restoring, and resetting, and because the problem is EXACTLY the same from more than one wi-fi location, the trouble would seem to be in your iPod. Ask your retailer or service provider to check whether your iPod needs to be serviced or replaced.

Path not working in win xp pro, can call java but not javac !

I just upgraded to win xp and set up the J2SDK. I have set the path variable in the environment settings.
when I tried to test this by typing java from my documents directory it works all right but not the javac command, to which it gives the error
"'javac' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file."
when I type path then I get the following result -

If more than 1 device is using the same Apple ID this issue can happen using FaceTime.

I use IMAP email hosted by Network Solutions for my main email address. I can send and receive this OK in my Mac Mail on my MAC book and also on webmail. However my iphone doesn't receive these emails but it can send. I have checked settings on my iphone twice with Network Solutions but no luck. Emails addressed to my .me address are received OK. I have a suspicion this problem started when I signed up to icloud.

Your carrier may offer a service where only specific numbers can call you, but that would be it.
The only option you might be able to use in iOS is the "Do Not Disturb" feature and only allow calls from "All Contacts". -
