I can connect to the iTunes store but I can't sign in
I recently got a macbook pro and before I got it I had a Toshiba. On that one I had an iTunes account that I used and worked fine.
I can connect to the iTunes store. I can search for stuff but I can't sign in so I can't download anything.
I've never had this problem before. I know that my apple id is ok because I changed the password because I thought I might have had it wrong.
Does anyone know how to fix it? I have the newest version of iTunes.
I'm having the same problem. Are you getting unknown error -9813?

boazBoaz, you might double-check that your apple ID and your itunes store account login match each other. I used to have a separate itunes store login from my apple id, and for some reason they've quit accepting my old login at the itunes store. I've also had to re-authorize all my machines for the itunes store, but all my purchases are still reflected.
I'd think I was mis-remembering the ID, except that both my laptop and ipad had the "wrong" ID configured into them.
Now I can't figure out how to change the login for the itunes store on my ipad, which is still trying to login under my suddenly-unacceptable itunes store login. -
ITunes will not connect to the ITunes store but it will connect to the ITunes internet radio.
Tried everthing, reinstalled ITunes in a specific orfer, flushed the DNS, latest version of ITunes, checked computer clock, windows 7 firewall,
and still can not connect to ITunes store but I can open ITunes radio. Help!!!Do you see an error message when trying to view the iTunes Store?
This Apple document, might be able to fix it for ya -> iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting
If you're just seeing a blank iTunes Store, you could also try resetting Winsock. It worked for some in this thread (iTunes 10.4) -> With iTunes 10.4 I can access iTunes store.
MTG68 wrote - In windows 7, click on your start menu, go to accessories, right click on the command prompt icon and choose "run as administrator". Once it opens, type in the following command...
netsh winsock reset
hit enter and it should say something like winsock reset successful now reboot your computer. -

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year. Then see if you can connect to the store.

Cannot connect to the iTunes store... sorda
A majority of the time I get the "cannot connect to the itunes store" error, and i find that turning the phone off and on fixes it 99% of the time. Or i can keep trying to connect - exiting and entering the itunes application.
is there a way/setting that makes it so i dont have to do these small tedious tasks to do something i know isnt broken, but which seems like a glitchHappens to me too - sorta.
Except I can connect to the iTunes store, but not to the Starbucks wifi - and through that, Safari. All I can reach is the Starbucks opening page and no further. I'm in New York BTW, and all the Starbucks display the "now playing" screen prominently. What's up with that? All I get is the 'Cannot connect to the iTunes Store window bounces up and yet I can access the 'favorites', 'top tens', etc.
Can anyone help us out here? What are we doing wrong? -
I have installed OS6 on my iPhone 4. A new App is Passbook. When I click on the App Store bar at the bottom of the Passbook page a message pops up saying Cannot connect to iTunes Store. That's wrong isn't it? It should not be trying to connect to the iTunes Store but to the App Store?.
It should be telling you to download the latest iTunes on your computer... you can't install iTunes on your iPhone.

The itunes store on my i-pod wont connect to the itunes store why?
I try to add an app on my ipod and when I type in the username and password it wont let me connect to the itunes store on MY IPOD.
It sounds like you are connected to the iTunes store but the wrong Itunes ID comes up and you can't change it. The change the iTunes ID the iPod is signed into go to Settings>Store and then sign out of the existing account and sign into the one you want.
If you are having another problem please describe better what you are doing/trying to do. -
My IPOD and Macbook Pro both will not connect to the Itunes store through Itunes says no internet connection, but I can connect through safari and I have a internet connection
As I mentioned above, I am not very tech savvy so I have no idea why a wireless protocol would be showing up there, I'm just listing everything I see in hopes that someone might know something I can try. This is why I am asking for help here - I'm not sure what has happened that has made me unable to connect, especially since it seemingly occured while nobody was using the computer.
I guess I should clarify that I'm not a total hillbilly- normally my firewall is set to 'on', but I set it to 'off' to try and troubleshoot the issues here as I was told that sometimes it can interfere with the computer's ability to connect to the internet. If this is not the case and firewall does not affect anything, I will turn it back on while I try to fix this.
I have tried the method you mentioned above a few times - I actually contacted my ISP earlier this week and they recommended resetting the router like that. They didn't mention any known network issues. -
I can't connect to the iTunes store from my iMac and have problems loading a number of other websites, however some websites load perfectly well. I have had the iTunes store issue on my iPad and resolved it by changing the DNS but surely I should use the DNS for my router. I don't really want to change it for the iMac as I access secure sites with it to internet shop.
Any ideas, I was going to try loading Chrome but can't get it without going through the iTunes store. Anyway, that is treating the symprom not the cause.Adding Open DNS codes to your Network Preferences, should give good results in terms of speed-up as well as added security, (including anti-phishing and redirects) (Full information about Open DNS is here: http://www.opendns.com/home/nobloat ) and further independent information can be read here:
http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-57338784-263/free-dnscrypt-tool-enhances-ma c-web-security/?tag=mncol;txt
and here:
http://www.macworld.com/article/1146064/troubleshootdns.html?t=234
Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu, and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' add the following two numbers:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
(You can also enter them if you click on Advanced and then DNS)
Sometimes reversing the order of the DNS numbers can be beneficial in cases where there is a long delay before web pages start to load, and then suddenly load at normal speed:

My family recently gave me an iPad for Mother's Day. It's been really awesome, but suddenly today I began getting an error: "Cannot connect to iTunes Store."
The process looks great right up to the download. Then, after the icon appears with the status bar, just before you would expect the status bar to start filling out...BAM, error!
I can connect to the internet just fine. I am able to sync via WiFi without trouble. I'm pretty sure I have tried all the troubleshooting on-and-offs. I even did a restore.
Am I missing something? Why would it work fine one minute and get all quirky the next?
Help me Obi-wan Kenobi; you're my only hope. Can't connect to the iTunes Store

Could be you are not connecting to the internet via wifi.
Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
iPad: Issues connecting to Wi-Fi networks http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3304
iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199
Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router. Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

I can't connect to the itunes store. I have the latest version of itunes on my windows 7 computer. I can connect to itunes from my ipad and ipod but no my windows computer. i dont get any error message, the bar at the top just says accessing itunes
Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

I'm from the USA but am on vacation in Brazil; I have a great WiFi connection but can not connect to the iTunes Store. Is this because I am out of the Country?
Thank you very much for your insight; I guess I had assummed that iPads/iPhones/iPods were here in Brazil and further assumed that the iTunes store would also be available.

I've turned my iPad off, then on again, I've logged out of iTunes, and logged back in, I've updated my credit card information, but nothing seems to be working. Is this a problem within the app?toshiro-99 wrote:
