I can download iTunes 7.0.2 but it won't open!!! Help!!
I am able to successfully download iTunes 7.0.2 but after is is done and I try to open it nothing happens. Nothing at all, no error or anything. I tried uninstalling an downloading many times. Then, just to test, I downloaded an older version of iTunes and it worked fine. I was ablt ot open it and get to the iTunes store but of cours my new iPod shuffle can only use 7.0.2 Can anyone help me?? I'm goin nuts!!!
Why won't it install? Are there any errors?
We are not mind readers, if help is desired it is up to the user to provide useful details.
Also, hopefully the media on the computer and other important data was backed up. Reinstalling iTunes does not cause that content to magically re-appear.

Hi I have downloaded compressor4 from Apps store but it won't open - says compressor not properly installed. The reason for my purchase was that compressor 3 stopped working. I tried to reinstall from the FCP disk but it was 'greyed out'. I followed suggestions from the apple site to clear various library files - mainly relating to Qmaster but this didn't make any difference, an iwonder igf perhaps this is the reason for the compressor 4 programme not working. I have an mac air and an iMac 5k - pages runs on both. I use pages on my air and save all my documents to iCloud drive. I can see the documents on my iMac but some won't open in pages which is bizarre? They will open if I change it to open with preview but then all I can do is read it - I can't add to the document - All I want is to be able to see all my documents on all my devices and to be able to have them sync so I can add to the documents from any of my devices. I also have an iPhone 6 and an iPadair2 but I would be happy just to have the iMac and macair sync for starters. I have folders within folders in my documents,. The folders which contain pdf's and individual files open OK . The one I am having difficulty with is the file which I use for ongoing correspondence - in other words it is quite long - I keep adding to it ( by copying letters in and letters out so I can see a sequential history of what has been going on by scrolling down ) in date order so that it could be 1 - 100 pages long - but I don't think the size is a problem. I don't understand why some folders can open and others not . Has anyone any suggestions please. I have been trying to get this to work for months since iCloud drive came in. It has got much better but it is still not good enough - or maybe it's me?
All I can suggest is that you open that file on the MBA and save it as a new file, then see if you can open the new one on the iMac.

I've used an older version (3.?) of Firefox for a long time. I had loads of bookmarks. I downloaded the new Firefox 4. It won't open and the older version is now gone. I use a Mac with a 400 MHz PowerPC G4 with 1.12 GB SDRAM and a 60 GB Internal Hard Drive. I'm running Mac OS X Version 10.4.11. I really need to recover the older version of Firefox or make the new version work.

Correct. It has always been that way in OS X. Applications, particularly from Apple, belong in the Applications Folder, where update installers can find them and link to associated system files that may be updated as well without you realising it. -

General installation troubleshooting
1. Empty your Temp directory and restart
Windows XP:
Windows Vista and Windows 7:
Choose Start > Computer
In Computer, open the "C:" drive.
Open the Users folder.
Open the folder titled with your username.
Open the AppData folder.Note: If you don't see the AppData folder, you may need to tell Windows to show hidden files and folders as shown below.
Double-click the Local folder to open it.
Right-click on the Temp folder and choose Delete.
In the confirmation dialog that appears click Yes.
If you are unable to delete the Temp folder, close all programs, especially those in the Notification area ("System Tray") of the Windows Taskbar and repeat steps 7 and 8.
Note: If you are still unable to delete the Temp folder, open the Temp folder and delete as many of the items inside this folder as you can.
Restart your computer. -
Just download iTunes 6.0 and now it won't open
I just downloaded the newest version of iTunes 6.0. Now iTunes will not open for me at all! When i try opening it is says an error has occurred and will close. When I click on what the error report contains it says this, AppName:itunes.exe AppVer:6.0.1.3 ModName:unknown ModVer:0.0.0.0 Offset:10001040 I have no idea what this means so I have uninstalled and installed iTunes about 10x and nothing has worked. Please I need some help before I throw this iPod out of the window!

It sounds like after updating to the latest iTunes you are unable to open iTunes at all. I want to recommend the troubleshooting from the article named:

Start iTunes in Safe Mode
Open iTunes in Safe Mode to isolate any interference from plug-ins or scripts not manufactured by Apple.
Hold down Shift–Control while opening iTunes. You should see a dialog that says "iTunes is running in safe mode" before iTunes finishes starting up.
Click Continue.
See if the issue you're experiencing persists in Safe Mode.
If you have the same issue while iTunes is in Safe Mode, proceed to the "Create a new user account" section. If you don't experience the same issue, follow these steps to remove third-party plug-ins.
Create a new user account
By creating a new user account, you can determine if the issue affects a specific Windows user account or all accounts. Follow the steps below to create a new user account in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
Choose Start > Control Panel.
Open "Add or remove user accounts." (If you're using the Classic view in Windows Vista, open "User Accounts," and then open "Manage another account.")

Recent history for Premiere Elements points to the program having problems when more than 1 video card/graphics card is
being used by the computer on which Premiere Elements is running. This observation may seem contra indicated by the fact
that you say that the program did work well about 2 years ago in the same setup. But other factors may have set in with regard
to drivers, drivers versions, and driver conflicts. But this factor, does need to be ruled in or out.
Can you disable one or the other card to determine the impact of this on your problem?
But, of prime concern with regard to video card/graphics card is the use of a NVIDIA GeForce card with Premiere Elements 10.
Even if your NVIDIA GeForce were the only card, Premiere Elements 10 will not work properly unless the NVIDIA GeForce driver
version is rolled back to about May 2013. This may be one of the major factors here.
a. Device Manager/Display Adapters and find out Driver Version and Driver Date
b. Read the background information for the Premiere Elements 10/NVIDIA GeForce issue
