Fingers crossedSolving the iTunes Installation Problems in Windows
1. Apple has posted their solution here: iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows- Unable to install or open - MSVCR80 issue.

Downloaded Yosemite but it will not install on Macintosh HD as it says it is used for Time Machine Backups but it is not. TM backup is to an external 2TB HD. Downloaded OX X twice with the same result.
OS X: Cannot install on a volume used by Time Machine for backups
For some reason you have a folder called Backups.backupdb at the root level of the hard disk on which you want to install Yosemite.
Move it to the Trash. -
I installed Snow Leopard, upgraded it to OS X 10.6.8, paid for and spent the hours necessary to download Lion, but Lion will not install. Even though it says the requirements are 10.6.6 or greater, when I try to install, I get a message saying I need 10.7. to install Lion. What should I do?
Hi..
Make sure your Mac meets Lion's requirements.
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
2GB of memory
OSX v10.6.6 or later (V10.6.8 recommended)
7GB of available spare
From here > Apple - OS X Lion - Technical specifications
If your Mac meets the requirements, installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo reinstalls the App Store for you which may help.
Restart your Mac after instaling the combo installed. It's ok to do this even though you are already running v10.6.8.
If you have anti virus software installed, you may need to disable that in order to install Lion. -

HT1977 I purchased an app in ITunes but it will not install on my ipod
I've followed all steps in the "Help" section & still cannot resolve. I've never had good luck with Apple's response to these issues. Any advice?
Is the app compatible with your iPod model and iOS?
Do you have a Restriction set that would prevent installing that app? Settings>General>Restrictions
Have you successfully syced apps from this iTunes library/conmputer before?
What happens when you try to directly redownload the app to the iPod by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store -
Just downloaded edge, but it will not install
It just say's 'installer failed to initialize this could be due to a missing file. Please download adobe support adviser to detect the problem. But the support adviser doesn't detect any problems. Have downloaded edge twice now, same problem.
(Windows 7)Hi again, and thanks for being so helpful. I have just solved the problem and thought i should post it here in case others have the same problem. I was using an unzip programme called jzip, i downloaded win rar instead and it worked. Obviously something wrong with jzip.
Thanks to both of you for being so helpful. -

I lost the Icons from my 4s 6.1.2 IOS I can see them in Itunes but they will not restore to the Phone
What icons are you talking about?
Are you talking about apps that you've downloaded? if so just sync them back to your phone using iTunes. -
I have just downloaded itunes but it did not ask me where I wanted to put it so has put it into my (pc) C drive by default. I want it in the D drive. How do I do this please? I have already tried uninstalling & reinstalling (this is what I'm doing now) but clearly without success.
All purchases are considered final, but you can try contacting iTunes support and explain what happened and see if they will refund or credit you : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
To try and stop it happening again, you should be able to turn off in-app purchases on your device via Settings > General > Restrictions > In-App Purchases 'off', and (depending upon what iOS version that you have on the device) you might also be able to set 'Require Password' to 'Immediately' on the Restrictions (the default is a 15 minute period during which it doesn't need to be re-entered) -
I have downloaded a French cd on iTunes. It is both speaking and music. It has downloaded fine in iTunes but it will not transfer to either my iPhone or iPad. Could someone advise please?
Or 80 years in router years.
Check the site of the manufacturer and see if there is an update for your router and install it. If there isn't one try restarting your router by pulling the plug on it and plugging it back in. -

I have downloaded the version of the proper quicktime update but it will not install. i need suggestions on how to fix this. this is my first mac its an old ibook g4, and i have limited computer knowledge.
Hi, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
Which exact iBook model is it?
You can choose from this list:
http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/ibook/index-ibook.html
Which version of the operating system is it running now? (It is impossible for an iBook G4 to run Mac OS X 10.0.)
How much RAM is installed?
What kind of optical drive does it have? (CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD, Combo, or SuperDrive?)
