I can no longer access documents in iCloud from my Mac running Mavericks

I entered into the Yosemite public beta program. After running the installation, I decided to go back to Mavericks. I used my Time Machine Backup to restore my Mavericks installation. All is well again except one thing, I cannot access any pre-Beta documents in my iCloud. I can't see anything in the folders: in Numbers, Pages, or via iCloud.com. I also can't reset iCloud via iCloud.com. I can access some of my documents via Numbers on my iPad, but they have issues like missing fonts.
If I officially leave the Yosemite Public Beta (via the leave webpage) will it restore my iCloud documents access? Or am I stuck until Yosemite and iOS 8.0 are released?
I would expect some bugs and speedbumps in a beta, but every page I viewed before trying it stated I could go back to Mavericks using my Time Machine backup, which I did. Had I known I shouldn't enter my icloud info when installing the beta when it asked, I wouldn't have. I'm assuming the files are still there, I just can't see them because I was upgraded to iCloud drive as part of the beta. I may try installing Yosemite Beta in Parallels just to see if I can recover my documents that way.
Anyone else experiencing this?

You might try to see if you can restore your iWork documents from an earlier point in time by using Time Machine.  To do this, Open Finder and navigate to “~/Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~Pages/Documents” (without the quotes) from the Go>Go to Folder menu.  Then launch Time Machine, go back in time until you see your pages documents, then select them, click Restore and exit Time Machine.  Then repeat this from "~/Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~Numbers/Documents" to restore your Number documents.

  • Can no longer save documents to iCloud from iMac or MBA

I have been using iCloud to work on documents from my MBA and iMac. All was working fine but now if I save, for example, a Keynote presentation to iCloud from my MBA, it appears in the mobile docements folder on the MBA but when I go to my iMac and look in the Mobile documents folder it does not appear. Have there been soe changes to iCloud as it was all working perfectly before. I am using Lion.

Have you updated to 10.7.3, syncing between the mobile documents folder doesn't seem to be working in this update.

Apple changed MobileMe to iCloud and then restricted iCloud to 10.7 users only unfortunately
If your machine is a 64 bit processor Intel Mac you can upgrade to 10.7 for $29, however a lot of your 10.5/10.6/Rosetta based software could cease to function, especially third party hardware drivers for printers, fax machines, all-in-ones, scanners etc.
    http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
Also depending how old the machine is, if it can accept 4GB of RAM (preferred), older video card, may not run 10.7 very well or stable.
My advice is to keep at 10.6.8, get a web based email service that's plaform/hardware neutral, forward your iPhone emails there. Gmail/Yahoo Mail for instance.
When your ready for new hardware and all new software, then buy a new machine.
If your going to go to 10.7 on your present hardware, I advise you clone 10.6.8 to a external drive first, that way you can c boot off the 10.6 disk erase the drive completely (necessary to remove hidden Lion Recovery Partition) and option boot off the 10.6.8 clone and reverse clone.

  • How do i sync my iWork documents to iCloud from my Mac?

I can't seem to sync my documents with iCloud from my mac. I've installed the latest update for Lion and there are no updates avaiable from any of the iWork applications. The Douments I create on my iPad are there but I can't seem to sync them with my mac.
This is a really important for me as i am a part time student and i work too, so i have to squeeze whatever time i can whenever i can to produce work. I can't always carry my macbook pro so i need to work from my iPad too and i dont have time to keep copying all my files across. I have used dropbox and google documents until now.
    Thanks,

It would appear that there's no direct way to synchronize iWork document between a Mac and iCloud the way there was with iDisk, or at least I haven't found mention of it anywhere, and I've been searching for it as I juggle between my iPhone and my Mac all the time. The iDisk sync wasn't automatic on iPhone, whereas iCloud is, which is great, but if you want the files on your Mac, you need to log on to iCloud from a browser, download the files you want, work on them and reupload them. Not exactly what I call seemless.
Hopefully Apple will make iCloud more easily accessible from Finder soon.

  • How can i store an app on iCloud from a mac?

I'm trying to use Final Cut Pro which requires 4GB of memory to use, but my mac is telling me that i there is not enough storage to do so. i set up my cloud which gives me 5GB of storage, i haven't synced it with my iPhone or iPad so the cloud is purely on my mac and i want to know if i can store the app on the iCloud alone enabling me to use it?

The iCloud storage isn't on your Mac; it's on Apple's servers, and content from it can't be run directly on a Mac. In addition, the 4GB figure is RAM and not drive space.

  • I've uploaded songs to my iTunes library on my MAC but I can no longer upload to my phone from my MAC.  Since I've uploaded all of the periodic upgrades after the automatic sync takes place I can no longer find my iPhone on my MAC

Since I've downloaded all of the "automatic upgrades" for both my iPhone and iTunes, once the "automatic sync" finishes when I connect my iPhone to my MAC, I have no way of finding my device and no way to mark new songs I've added to my music library on my MAC so they will automatically be uploaded to my iPhone the next time I connect it and do the automatic sync...

To repeat, I can still sync everything just fine from my computer to my old IPhoone 3S and to my ancient iPad, buit not to the new phone. I have tried every imaginable combination of WiFi and iCloud settingson or off, and syncing the entire library or just specific playlists and such. I am at a loss.
Please accept my apology if I sounded elementary to you. One never knows what level of expertise he is posting to. My thought based on the message I'm focusing on here is that IF in fact you are able to sync just fine with ancient devices but not your new device I would be thinking strongly about updates to either itunes or to your OS.
    Good luck.

After the latest Mac OS upgrade, my "Messages" app stopped sending and receiving texts from non-Apple phone users. Has anyone else experienced this interruption?

    Hi buribe215,
It appears you are unable to use SMS relay, a Continuity feature in Yosemite. The following article provides basic troubleshooting steps you may want to explore:
Get help using Continuity with iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite - Apple Support
If a Continuity feature like Handoff, phone calls, Instant Hotspot, or SMS messages isn't working the way you'd expect, make sure your devices meet the requirements. Then check your settings.
    Check System Requirements
Make sure your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac meet the system requirements for Continuity, and for the specific features you want to use.
    Check your settings
Check the following settings on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:
Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn on Wi-Fi if necessary.
Make sure your iOS devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network by going to Settings > Wi-Fi and comparing the name of the network each is on.
Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn on Bluetooth if necessary.
Go to Settings > General > Handoff & Suggested Apps and make sure Handoff is on.
Go to Settings > Phone. If you see Wi-Fi Calling, turn it off.
Check the following settings on your Mac:
Go to the Wi-Fi icon at the top of your screen and turn on Wi-Fi if necessary.
Make sure your Mac and iOS devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi on your iOS device and compare the name of the network with the Wi-Fi network on your Mac.
Go to the Bluetooth icon at the top of your screen and turn on Bluetooth if necessary.
In System Preferences > General, select “Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices.” If you don't see this setting, your Mac may not support Handoff.
Open the FaceTime app, go to FaceTime > Preferences and turn on “iPhone Cellular Calls.”
Go to System Preferences, and sign out and then sign in again to your iCloud account.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,

  • ICloud OK with Macs running Mavericks and Mountain Lion?

I have two Macs on Mountain Lion currently, but only want to upgrade one of them to Mavericks.
    Will iCloud still work seamlessly?
    Thanks!

Correct. iCloud is compatible with OS X Lion and later, so you won't have any problem using iCloud in OS X Mavericks even if one of your Macs is using OS X Mountain Lion. The only thing that iCloud adds in Mavericks is iCloud Keychain, so you can't use it with your computer with OS X Mountain Lion. Apart from that, everything should be working correctly.
Before upgrading, make a backup of your files with Time Machine and check that your apps are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com

  • Time Capsule - can no longer access on MBP Leopard

For the past 6 or 7 weeks I can no longer access my Time Capsule from my MBP Leopard. However, I do not beleive this is a Time Capsule issue as I am still accessing (and backing up) successfully from a MBP running Snow Leopard. Note, the access and backup were running fine for over a year and suddenly just stopped working. I've done the basics like repair permissions, software update, checked everything. For soem reason, when I try to access, I can see the Time Capsule, I can connect until I get to Data then "mylaptop Sparse Bundle". When I choose that disk image backup - just continues for ever and ever with a dialog box that says "trying to connect" or something like that.
    Any ideas appreciated ...
    thanks

"the current volume could not be mounted". Also "The Current Time Machine backup disk can;t be found".
Has this Mac had any problems since the last successful backup? Such as hardware repairs, especially a new logic board? A full restore?
Is the +sparse bundle+ currently mounted? If so, eject it and try again.
If not, or if that doesn't help, try a "full reset" of Time Machine, per #A4 of Troubleshooting.
Interesting to note that the final backup (7 weeks ago) failed - it looked like hourly backups worked and the final one failed ("says in progress" ?)
Yes, that's the partial, failed backup. Since it's incomplete, it won't appear in the "Star Wars" display, etc. Once Time Machine gets started, it will "recover" it, and convert it into a normal backup, with a new date & Time.
After that long without a backup, Time Machine will have a lot of work to do (including recovering the partial backup), so connect via Ethernet if at all possible. It will still take a while, but be 2-3 times faster than WIFI.

  • HT6312 So if I have Mavericks, I can no longer access my files in iCloud?

So if I have Mavericks, I can no longer access my Pages documents in iCloud? They are not accessible if I don't upgrade, and If I do upgrade they are also not accessible with Mavericks?

Restore from the backup you made before wrecking the system. Never change the permissions of any file again.
