I can no longer download from the web!

I haven't had this problem before  I have always been able to down load from theses sites.  When I'm on a fileshare site like filesonic 'which i'm a member of so have full download rights', I am unable to down load the file.  It appears in the safari download dropdown and quicklt downloads the file for no more than 2 seconds and states it finished.  Thses file should be taking up to 6 minutes plus to download.  When you open the file there is nothing in there.  I can download these files on my PC so I know that it not my internet provider or the site.  Can anyone help?

http://www.filesonic.com/file/4186156625/Grooverider_-_BBC_Radio1-SAT-12-12-2011 -SO_32060.rar  This should take you to the site/loctaion.  You don't need to be a member, (which i am) to download, just takes longer.  As soon as the download file goes into the thwnload dropdown, it say it's compleate almost instantly.  When you open it up it has downloaded.

Yes, the tone is available and checked in iTunes under the Tones library.
Yes, it is also listed under the Tones tab for my iPhone, but it is grayed out.
Yes, tones are selected under "sources" in General Preferences, along with everything else.
SyncTones was NOT selected under the Tones tab for my iPhone. I did so and it synced.
    Thanks for your help!

  • Pages, downloaded from the web, beyond the 1st page appear 50% reduced when printed. How can I resolve this?

How can I resolve a recent printing problem I'm experiencing regarding downloads from the web where pages beyond the 1st page appear 50% reduced when printed or lines of type at bottoms of pages are missing?

    David,
Thanks for the reply. I wish I could tell you that your suggestions solved my problem - they didn't.
I've deleted the affected printer, then added the printer again; I've reset the printing system, then added the printer again; I've downloaded printer drivers, deleted the affected printer, then added the printer again.
I plan to contact hp later this week for further assistance as you suggest.
My printer is a hp OfficeJetPro L7590.
I've enclosed screen shots illustrating the situation.

  • With OSX10.7.5 and Adobe Reader 11.0.02 when I try to open a PDF downloaded from the web I get 'There was an error opening this document. This file is damaged and could not be repaired. Preview will not open either. Older PDFs OK.

I am running OS X 10.7.5 and Adobe Reader 11.0.02. In the last few days I have been unable to open PDF's downloaded from the web. Reader gives the error message 'There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired'. Removing Reader and trying to use Preview to open these files give the error 'Preview cannot open this file. It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn't recognise' (or something like that). Downloading the same files with Reader removed from my Mac Preview opens the files OK.
I was recently prompted to update Adobe software but did not note exactly what the update was nor when it was done.
Reader and Preview will both open PDFs I downloaded a week ago. Reader will also open files downloaded on another Mac running OS X 10.0.0 and copied to my Mac. Any ideas?

    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

  • Are plug-ins downloaded from the web safe?

Macworld newsletter just sent out an article about the most useful Safari plug-ins (http://lm.macworld.com/t/1158383/7026212/108592/0/). How do you know if it is safe to install a plug-in that sounds very useful but has been downloaded from the web?

    Hi Mike --
The only extension I've heard of having problems is Safari AdBlock, which I did not
on that list. I would trust MacWorld about 90% of the time. You can always delete them
if they don't work out. I would also trust their site for downloading.
    Hope this helps.

  • I can no longer connect to the web

I've got an iPad 2, about 3 years old and I can no longer connect to the web.  I do get e-mails, but they come when they feel like it.  I don't have trouble getting on the web on my iMac. Thanks for your help and please answer as you would to any neophyte.  Cheers

Are you properly connected to WiFi?
Is your iMac using the same WiFi?
What happens when you try to reference a WebSite?

  • When Firefox last automatically updated, it suggested that Adobe reader needed updating, now, with Adobe Reader 8, I can no longer print from the internet, only to file. Help please.

When Mozilla Firefox last automatically updated, it suggested that Adobe Reader needed updating. After updating to Adobe Reader 8, I can no longer print from the internet, only to a file. I know the printer and its interface must be OK because Word prints normally.

Problem solved, it was my oversight, I had not removed the check from the Print to File box in the print set up.

  • Hi we have apple credentials for downloading OS and creating Provisioning profiles. Now we are trying to upgrade the Mac OS 10.7.3 version. do we need should buy this version from appStore. or can it be download from the apple site for free?  Many thanks

Hi we have apple credentials for downloading OS and creating Provisioning profiles. Now we are trying to upgrade the Mac OS 10.7.3 version. do we need should buy this version from appStore. or can it be download from the apple site for free?  Many thanks in advance!

Whether you need to buy Mac OS X 10.7.3 depends on what version of OS X you have now.
If you have OS X 10.6.x or lower it is a paid upgrade from the Mac AppStore.
If you have OS X 10.7.x it is a free upgrade you get using Software Update on your Mac.

  • Can no longer download from some of my 'usual' places, even after the 'update'. WTF?

I've been unable to download ANYTHING from a few of my 'regular' places since I got this %#*@^ 'improved' Firefox. If it wasn't nearly impossible to do, I'd go back to the old one, at least it did ALL the things I use a browser for.
Here's the deal. I go to one of these websites, spy something I need, and try to start a download. Does it happen? NO! Why not? Because said website admonishes me that I already have my limit of downloads in progress! Seems simple enough, you think? Sure, except that I have NO f**king downloads in progress! That never happened with the older Firefox, the one that worked. I've spoken with the webmaster of a couple of the sites involved, and they've made no changes, have no other problems, BUT they advise me that MANY of their users who have this POS 'new' Firefox are having the exact same issue.
I hoped that, once you people issued an 'update' for this spiffy new Firefox4, you'd fix this problem. Surely I'm not the only person cursed with this problem?
Hey, look, if you can't or won't bother to fix this, would you at least have the decency to make it easy to go back to the OLD Firefox that worked reliably?
You can bet I'm making it my business to tell anyone and everyone I can reach that FF4 is a POS, and this is a very good time to find a new browser, like Chrome. Even IE manages to download from the website(s) FF4 no longer d/l's from.
I'd be ashamed, if I was you.
If it matters, mine is a plain vanilla PC, running 64-bit Win7, basic un-tweaked installation. I have the issue noted above whether or not I have any add-on's working. I've made sure to reboot the PC and restart FF4. I've downloaded and installed the alleged 'update', then again rebooted the machine, and still have the same f**king problem, website(s) think I'm already downloading. I never had this problem before I got this spiffy new Firefox4, and if it wasn't such a chore to remove it and go back to a Firefox that WORKED, I would have already done so. Now you've done an 'update', and apparently no one there gives a f**k about this. The websites involved are the same ones I've been d/l'ing from for years, with no problems, and they've made no changes. My PC hasn't been in any way changed, it's entirely the fault of Firefox4. What a POS!

  • Image Capture can no longer download from iPhone

For some time - I think since Yosemite upgrade, I can no longer download photos from my iPhone 5. (I do not use iCloud, and there are some other issues with iPhoto so I haven't tried.  iTunes can still perform backup.)
Back when, I was using Google Picasa as main tool to download from iOS to MacOS.  For some time, maybe since a certain iOS (8?) update, Picasa would simply begin a download, and spill out an error upon the simplest job - like a single picture.  As such, I went back to Apple's Image Capture and found it still worked.  Until recently, that is.  Now, Image Capture simply starts an "Import", shows a progress bar, but makes no progress whatsoever.  When I retried Picasa, Picasa does the same, i.e., the error message is no more, replaced by a no-progress progress bar.
I usually only perform import when iPhone is filling up.  So this is a devastating problem.  Please help.

    Hello sillyvalley,
Sorry to hear that you are having issues with importing photos to your Mac. Now I am not sure what the communication problem is with Picasa, I can say that there are other alternatives to import your photos in, like using iPhoto or Image Capture. Take a look at the article below for more information.

Try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if it then works.

  • Problems trying to download from the web

    Hi guys:
This is the firstime that I post something here, so here's my question:
I got a problem with an IPS Module, because when I want to download something from the web (FTP, HTTP,etc) it's very slow, for example if I want to download something of 3 mb it takes like 1 hour to download so I was checking the Service Policy Rules in the ASA and I just uncheck the one that I think was affecting which was FTP, but the problem still there, so I disable the IPS module and everything works great, so right now I'm checking the signatures in the IPS but I cannot find anything yet, so I want to know if anyone has this problem before.
If you already post this problem please let me know because I was looking in the forum and i couldn't find something.
    Regards.

    Luis,
Try disabling all of the TCP Drop (1330) signatures on the IPS. These signatures look at the packet headers and drop all packets that do not meet RFC specifications.
1330-0: TCP packet has bad checksum. This signature will not produce an alert in
promiscuous mode regardless of the signature status.
1330-1: TCP packet has bad flag combination. A packet will never be passed on
for inspection if it has a bad flag combination regardless of the status
parameter. This signature will not produce an alert in promiscuous mode
    regardless of the signature status.
1330-2: TCP packet with an URG pointer value and no URG flag. If the event
action parameter is set to modify packet inline the URG pointer will be set to
zero. This signature will not produce an alert in promiscuous mode regardless
    of the signature status.
1330-3: TCP packet with a bad TCP option list. This signature should remain
Disabled and Retired. See Cisco bug id CSCsh32196 for further details. This
signature will not produce an alert in promiscuous mode regardless of the
    signature status.
1330-4: TCP option has a bad length. If the signature event action is either
unset or set to modify packet inline or if the signature status is disabled
the packet will be modified to remove tcp options that extend past the end of
the packet header and passed on for inspection.
1330-5: TCP MSS option was seen in packet without the SYN flag set.
1330-6: TCP window scale option was seen in packet without the SYN flag set.
1330-7: TCP packet has a bad window scale value. If the signature event action
is either unset or set to modify packet inline or if the signature status is
disabled the packet will be modified to set the window scale option to the
    closest constraint value.
1330-8: TCP SACK allowed option was seen in a packet without the SYN flag set.
If event action is set to modify packet inline the selective ack allowed
    option will be cleared.
1330-9: TCP packet with SYN and ACK flags set that also contains data. This
signature will not produce an alert in promiscuous mode regardless of the
    signature status.
1330-10: TCP data sequenced after the FIN. This signature will not produce an
alert in promiscuous mode regardless of the signature status.
1330-11: TCP packet has timestamp option when timestamp option is not allowed.
This signature is not implemented. This signature will not produce an alert in
promiscuous mode regardless of the signature status.
1330-12: TCP segment is out of order. If the signature status is set to
disabled, the packet will be passed to all engines that are not stream based.
This signature will not produce an alert in promiscuous mode regardless of the
    signature status.
1330-13: TCP packet has invalid header. This signature is not implemented.
This signature will not produce an alert in promiscuous mode regardless of the
    signature status.
1330-14: TCP packet with RST or SYN flag was sent in the sequence window but
was not the next in sequence. If a packet in a stream causes this signature to
produce an alert, processing will cease for that stream. This signature will
not produce an alert in promiscuous mode regardless of the signature status.
1330-15: TCP packet's sequence was already ACKed by peer (excluding
keepalives). This signature will not produce an alert in promiscuous mode
    regardless of the signature status.
1330-16: TCP packet failed PAWS check (PAWS=protection against wrapped
sequence numbers). This signature will not produce an alert in promiscuous
mode regardless of the signature status.
1330-17: TCP segment out of state order. If a packet in a stream causes this
signature to produce an alert, processing will cease for that stream. This
signature will not produce an alert in promiscuous mode regardless of the
    signature status.
1330-18: TCP segment out of window. If a packet in a stream causes this
signature to produce an alert, processing will cease for that stream. This
signature will not produce an alert in promiscuous mode regardless of the
    signature status.
1330-19: TCP packet has timestamp option but the stream's SYN packet did not.
If event actions are either not set or set to modify packet inline or the
signature status is set to disabled the timestamp option will be cleared.
1330-20: TCP packet with SYN and ACK flags set has window scale option but the
SYN packet did not. If event actions are either not set or event actions are
set to modify packet inline or if the signature status is set to disabled the
window scale option will be cleared.
1330-21: TCP packet has selective ACK ok option but the stream's SYN packet
did not. If event actions are either unset or set to modify packet inline or
if the signature status is set to disabled the selective ACK ok option will be
    cleared.

  • How can I open a keynote file that was made in Keynote Beta and downloaded from the web?

    I have Keynote version 5.3
I want to edit a Keynote presentation made originally in Keynote Beta on the web.
When I download it in .key it wont let me edit the file because it says I need a newer version of Keynote.
When I try to download Keynote 6.0.1 I'm told I can't because I need a newer operating system!! I currently have 10.7.5 and there are no new updates.
Can I NOT open a keynote file that was made in Keynote Beta??!
