  • Since upgrading to Firefox 4 I can no longer send a link to a web page. I use Windows XP. Can anyone please help?

I have used Firefox for some time and have enjoyed the bsend a link feature in the File drop dwon menu. Since installing Firefox 4 this feature no longer works. I click the option and nothing happens. In preferences and applications the mailt0 icon on the far left is not as distinct as it was and the option is set to googlemail which is correct. I have an Apple mac and also installed Firefox 4 and send a link works on the mac with no problem!

Are you able to locate the Firefox Installer file on your computer. If you need to download it again use

  • I changed from a dial up to a high speed network and can no longer get Firefox to work as my browser. What do I need to do?

I changed from a dial up to a high speed network and can no longer get Firefox to work as my browser. What can I do.
I did try to download Firefox again, but still will not work.

Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 6.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version.
    * Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

I can no longer get my calendar to send a reminder e-mail for on a date in the future....alerts no problem

Try turning the account off and on : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then tap the account on the right, slide Mail to 'off', exit settings and go back into the Mail app, and then go back to Settings and slide Mail back to 'on'
If that doesn't work then try closing the Mail app completely : from the home screen (i.e.not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
Also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • I can't print my statements from banking websites - the option to print (drop down file menu) from the website is greyed out

I do my banking online, and have previously been able to print my statements off the website. Since the last update, although the page shows in the browser as normal, the option to print from the drop-down file menu is greyed out and I cannot print anything, even if I try and select a portion. It is not a problem with the website as I can print without a problem in another browser program. This problem has now persisted for quite a while with no resolution over time. How do I get Firefox to allow print from a secure website (I assume that is the problem?) It occurs with more than one secure site (two different banks)

I have the same problem... not being able to print website 'Print' pages. I have read carefully the above link and have followed the reset directions in about:config, but I still cannot print in Firefox. Both Google Chrome and IE work perfectly every time. I have verified that the correct printer is selected and that the margins are in order (0.5 all around happen to be what mine are set for). I have resorted to use the Firefox Add On "View this Page in IE" whenever I need to print something. Works like a charm, but come on... it should work in Firefox too! I know there is some setting or something, but the Problems_printing_web_pages link had nothing there that worked for me.

  • After downloading the new update for Firefox I can no longer get Firefox to respond. I can only get it to respond in safe mode. Why?

After downloading the new update to Firefox I cannot get Firefox to respond. The only way I can use Firefox is in Safe Mode.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== I updated to new version of Firefox

Cannot believe NO ONE from Firefox is responding to this issue; particularly since I don't seem to be the only one with the problem!!!!

  • I can no longer get Firefox to work. I tried to update it but it won't complete configuration.

Firefox notified me of an upgrade, so when I went to upgrade, now Firefox won't work at all. It would not complete the configuration on my Mac. The Firefox icon now has a big circle with the line through it. the error message number is 10661.

  • How can you get firefox to refresh a web page like every few hours to keeep you logged into a account

not really a trouble it would just be handy to be able to set firefox to refresh a page thats loaded at a set interval eg 1-5hours because I come home from work and I'm logged out of web page like if someone resets router etc

also on pages like this so i could keep tab open and see replies without just by switching tabs and not needing to refresh when i do this I know this seems lazy but would be helpful if someone knows a way

  • How do I get Firefox to automatically size web pages?

Seems to me one of the features of html is that it's the browser's job to resize the page to the current window, if possible. New Win8.1 machine, newly installed Firefox, doesn't seem to do that (consistently, if at all.) Any option to do this?

O.P.: I should point out there's a BIG difference between "zooming" to fit, and "sizing" to fit. A browser can and should adjust spacing between elements, and even re-arrange elements, to get the page to fit, if possible. Sometimes it's not possible, because the page has specified the formatting. In my case, it seems like FF '''never''' gets it right. Even this very page has the scroll bar at the bottom, which should be completely unnecessary.

  • I cannot get firefox to access any web pages, main menu appears frozen

I have downloaded the most up to date firefox but cannot get the Start page to search for anything

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

  • How can I  make my own design for a web page instead of using a template?

Need to ask the question again. I tried using the blank template, but could not get it to work. I could not insert images and copy where I wanted and in size I wanted.

    rapcom wrote:
A general question: Is it possible to change the dimensions of the web page? Or even its positioning as a horizontal or vertical format?
Yes — it's done via iWeb Inspector's Page tab (the second one at the top), editing the values in the +Page Size+ fields. After entering a new value, click the Return key to make it take effect...
..By the way, the above image is taken from a tutorial ~ click on the image above to read the tutorial.
    rapcom wrote:
I also would prefer to edit the copy on the blank web page, and cannot do that either. Is it possible to do so?
Yes, it's possible. But it's difficult to know what exact difficulty you're having, and I perhaps risk stating the obvious... One thing to be aware of is that clicking once inside a text box will simply select that box (you'll see eight +"grab handles"+ for re-sizing). But to edit the text inside, you need to click once more. Experiment with clicking inside and outside text boxes and you'll learn.
And iWeb's Help menu has several resources ~ the Help viewer, a +Getting Started+ PDF and a link to ten video tutorials. One of the videos briefly demonstrates adding a text box towards the end; click here...
If after the above you still need help, post back with step-by-step details of the problem.

  • I can no longer get Firefox to display when I click the tab. The toolbar shows me firefox is up and running but cannot get the page to expand.

This all happened after a windows update. It started when a pop-up I was wanting to see wouldn't come up but was showing in the toolbar below that it was up. I could click on the toolbar screen and it would shoot over to the right side out of view. I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled and now I can't get the browser to do anything up idle in the toolbar!!

After this, you probably will be buying some access control software...
First, make a backup of your computer for safekeeping. To back up Firefox, see [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information].
Next, try starting Firefox in Firefox
[http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode Safe Mode]. Be careful not to "reset" anything permanently if you didn't back up.
Does that fix it? If not, try creating a new (blank) profile: [http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles Managing profiles].
To move key settings like bookmarks from your damaged profile to the new profile, see: [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Recovering+important+data+from+an+old+profile Recovering important data from an old profile].
    Hope this helps.
